I need a logo to be used on my website. The name of the website is "Life's Natural Health Solutions". I am open to any ideas you may come up with, so use your imagination.

The logo does not need to include the name, and it should be a relatively simple illustration. Maybe an image of the sun with someone reaching up as if enjoying the sunlight. But again, I am open to any good ideas.

Thanks,
Mark Jordan

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
No text is necessary, but if you think incorporating the name of the website, "Life's Natural Health Solutions" into the logo would look good, then I would consider it.

What type of product or service do you offer?
Information and products for a natural and healthy lifestyle.

How long have you been in business?
Just starting.

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Create a feel of professionalism and friendliness.

What are your long term goals?
A website that makes money by providing quality products and information.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
November 6, 2009.

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience.
There is no existing audience. This is a new business and website.

Who would you like to add to your audience?
People who are aware of the need for a natural and healthy lifestyle.

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Just a simple illustration.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
I think Earth tones would be best, as it conveys the feeling of "natural", and the neutral colors will go with just about any other color scheme.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
My idea was an image of the sun with a person (or people) reaching up as if enjoying the sunlight. But I am open to suggestions and different ideas.

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
As I said before; create a feel of professionalism and friendliness.

What is your tagline or slogan?
I don't really have one. I think the name of the site, "Life's Natural Health Solutions", IS a slogan.

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Trust.

Where will your new logo be used?
It will be part of the header on every web page, and other places on the website.

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
There are too many to list, and I don't really care about their logos.

List competitive URLs if possible

What sets you apart from your competitors?
I'm just starting out. That will have to develop over time.

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
New ideas, new directions.

Thanks for the quick response, but this is not at all what I'm looking for. I want objects, not letters.

Radu,

Thanks for the response, but it's not quite what I'm looking for. The tree looks dead.

Brunocalvin,

Much better than the first submission. But I just don't get any ENERGY from it.

I want to thank everyone who submitted designs for my logo. Some were very good, but unfortunately I can only choose one.

I have decided that the clear winner is:

Artemii

I look forward to working with you.

Artemii,

I can't thank you enough for your excellent design. It is better than anything I could have imagined.

I definately prefer version #2 because of the added detail. In fact, the revisions I would like to see all involve adding a bit more detail.

1. I would like the orange ball (Sun) to be just a bit larger, and the blue ball (I assume that is the Earth) to be just a bit smaller. Also, add just a bit of detail to the Earth, similar to the attached image, but very very softly.

2. I would like to see just a bit more detail in the female figure. I am not looking for anything too provocative, but I don't want it to look like a ghost. I want everything to look alive.

3. In order to include all of the colors of the image in the lettering, perhaps you could add just a hint of orange into the "Life's Natural" letters only.

I hope this isn't too much to ask. Thanks again for an excellent design.

Best Regards,
Mark
(See attachment. If you don't get it, let me know and I try another way to send it.)

Thank you Mark, and Palmer too :)
Alright, see the revised version, here's what I think: you might need to use your logo in a very small size, like the size of the black and white version. In that case the detailed Earth will appear as blur. Detailing is good on big posters, for example, but logos should be as simple as possible. So I think it would be better to use version 1.0 or 2.0 as the logo, and version 2.01 is more suitable for bigger prints :)

Best,
Artemii

Artemii,

I agree with you about the amount of detail in the different sizes. I plan to display the larger image quite prominently on my home page, but will use the smaller logo on other pages.

I will take another look at it tomorrow and decide then if I am satisfied with it.

Thanks again for the great work, and I will contact you tomorrow.

Mark

Atremii,

OK. I can't see any way of improving on this design. It is excellent.

What formats of the images will you send?

Mark

Artemii

I'll send you version 2.01 (you chose this one, am I right?) in EPS, high and low resolution JPEG and TIFF. Let me know if you need any other formats.

Best,
Artemii

Slayton

Version 2.01 includes all three images, large, small and B&W, is that correct?

Those formats will be fine.

Thank you.

Mark

Version 2.01 includes three images, right: gradient, solid color and black&white versions. Since you'll get EPS, you'll be able to adjust the size of the images.

Please review version 2.02, I changed the detailing of the woman's figure.

Yes, I like the new detail. Will the larger image have the same detail?

Artemii
11-12-2009, 02:56 PM
Yes Mark, it will, sure. Let's review the files you'll get: version 2.02 (solid color and black&white) and the gradient version from 2.01 (the biggest one) with the woman's figure detailing as in v2.02. Correct me if I missed something :)
