Hi everyone
I'm new to this - so please ask all the questions that I fail to answer here.
Anyway here goes - I would like a logo for a business that I’m developing online. careerlifestyle.com. I want the .com as part of the logo as I want the business to be seen from an e commerce view.
The website will include the following:
· Career coaching info
· Career ‘tests’
· Career planning tools
· Career Courses etc
The website is primarily aimed at an Australian / UK market. The audience is 25 – 40 white-collar and middle to upper income levels.
The website, while being corporate and professional – needs to have a fun ‘virgin’ feel to it. (I love the virgin group of companies and their branding which is also based on a recognised colour)
Colour: Not yet decided – thinking blue could be a good base but am open to suggestions. 2 colour would be preferable.
My tag line is (Love Work! Love Life!) I would like this incorporated into the logo
The logo will be used on website, stationary and all promotional activities.
Well it is over to all of you talented individuals. Thanks heaps and good luck.
Here's a couple to start you off with. :)

Just a couple of ideas, purely typographical.
I'll add the tag line later today.

Hi, sorry about the delay - system would not let me post a reply - fixed now - thanks palmer for quick response :)
Thanks for those who’ve started the ball rolling.
Ill go through and make comments on the order of entry.
Some general comments though, still really looking for something fresh and fun – none really jump out at this stage. Careerlifestyle is about having fun, having a balanced lifestyle and doing what you enjoy - a little carefree.
markbeaudry
Graphic 1 – oval shaped – too plain
Graphic 2 – I like the colours. Logo a little ‘square’ though – remember I’m trying to promote people to ‘look outside the box’.
Alex_Kogan
Thanks for the samples. Unfortunately none really take my fancy. They are too in the box.
MUTE DESIGN
Both entries appear to be bigger than life – really looking for something that has a more professional feel. Neither logos would work here in Australia. Using a different font between the two words does work, however keep the sizes close together. People need to see that it’s a website instantly.
graphxguy
I like both types of designs
The top two are catchy although I think the circle image looks like it’s been used before.
Can you try the blue and yellow look?
The bottom graphic is good. Can you show me what the orange part would look like in yellow. Don’t really like the ‘human’ outline – any other ideas????
Looking forward to seeing some changes and of course some new entries.
Have a great day

Thanks for the entry. It grabs me.
Can you try the orange in a yellow colour and also two different fonts for the two main words? Looking forward to seeing it.

Hello :) ,
Here is my first post to your contest. I integrated the "human" factor with arms wide open, expressing joy.
Best regards,
Gilles :)

Hi
Here are some up to date comments about previous entries
Taldo
The colour change looks good. Like the different fonts and the small tag line. The star just doesn’t fit though. Not sure about the other graphic – any other ideas?
markbeaudry
Both graphics are simple and very clear but still looking for something a little more personal – graphics ideas could be about balancing and fun.
Gilles
Like the different font choices. Did you try and position the tag line elsewhere? What about moving the .com part to bring the width of the logo in a little. Human part matches what I’m looking for – the closest so far.
General Comments
The logo needs a success feel to it. Any ideas for the balance and fun angles? Other suggestions would be much appreciated
Just a reminder need the comp to be finished next week. I’ll try and make comments as soon as possible – just remember that I’m on a different time zone (Australia)
All the best B)

Sorry but none of them appeal to me. Am looking for a logo which is more than the actual name. Something that can be used as a standalone watermark as well as adding to the actual name.
graphxguy
Like the forth logo the most, although not sure about the graphic – any other ideas?
Gilles Le Bon
Image 1 & 2 – the oval distracts from the logo and is limiting – remember the logo needs to be ‘out’ of the box.
I like your last logo. Are you able to give me a look at the graphic in a different size, ie same as the words.
General Comments:
It looks like the colours have been chosen – I do like the blue and yellow that most of you are using. The logo also needs to look good in grey scale for printing out.
Anyway that’s all folks

Hi
Where are the entries?
Only a few days to go. Still looking for some sort of graphic on my logo.
Gilles
Like the last logo - when it is small, I noticed that my tag line is not that visable, in fact the logo because a little busy - what do you think? Sorry to be picky but can you show me how the logo looks with out the tag line. - thanks
Well that's all for now.

Don't like the last two at all. With regards to the older logo without the tag line - let me set with it for a day or so.
Other designers
Only 3 more days to go - need to have this wraped up on Friday. Surely there must be some other ideas out there????

Hi
Here’s some feedback for those who’ve entered the comp. 1 more day to go.
Thanks so much to all of you who have already entered. Currently I’m leaning towards the human type graphic that Gilles has went with. No one has really come close in the graphic department, having said that, one of you may blow me away with something different.
Gilles Le Bon
Don’t like the human with wings – too tacky. Your last two are not as good as your one that was posted at the top of page 2 (Posted: Nov 21 2003, 02:58 PM) .
I’m thinking of going back to the larger graphic because of how it encapsulates the first word – it does draw the eye across to the text. Can you give me two ‘final’ looks at this logo in the following formats.
1. Move down the tag line so the bottom is in line with the bottom of the blue graphic and spread out the two statements – I think there needs to be a little more space to stop the busyness. (eg. Love Work! Love Life!) Thanks heaps
2. Drop tag line on same logo.
markbeaudry
It’s definitely refreshing, not sure about graphic though. Don’t forget the colours are now
pennyln
I like the boldness, although too male orientated. What about turning the black into a blue colour and a more generic business person???
G)(G
Hey thanks for your first entry. Unfortunately none really appeal. Too American. Sorry J however stars and this type of imagery doesn’t work in Australia. I really like the C as a boomerang although my market is both Australia and the UK.
That's about all.

Hi everyone
Thanks to everyone who entered the contest.
I have to say that the winner is Gilles. Not a lot of entries were able to develop a clear crisp and recognisable graphic in addition to the font/wording layout.
Thanks Gilles - will be in touch re logo delivery.
