my site states that max logo size is 400x50. I created that logo last week -but my name appears to difficult to read to me, and appears a bit crude / unfinished / amateur.

Thank you for your consideration!

Juvanescence –I don’t think this design would carry me over into a professional clientele, which is what I want to add.
Nutscreative – Although I like the look of the JS initials, your design made me think that if there is any extra room, it should probably be my web address -because I know that’s easier to remember than my last name! V2 may be a bit too neutral or safe for me. Might be missing just a small subtle piece of flair.

I’m attaching a jpeg of some logos I just found that I like. I hope this helps, as I’d love to see more from you both and others!

Thank you again, I’m learning ;)
Designers: This is like an early Christmas! I love you guys! Thanks for all your hard work.
–I’ve played a bit with these on my website and think I really need to have a design that is on 1 line, relative in size.
My logo space is 400 x 50 max and I repeatedly ran into these 2 problems. The designs with large initial art, made the text very small –and when I eliminated the large art, the font didn’t seem to have enough design elements to stand on its own.

I think we need to fill that 400 x 50 space with:
1. Just the company name with any initial art, in line with the text –similar in size.
Or
2. Just the company name on 1 line, with design elements added into the font.

Here's a logistics peek at where the logo will sit, upper left corner.. http://schmidtc7475.c3.cmdwebsites.com/
As you've picked up on, and I'd like to confirm, I like subtle, but unexpected twists. Incorporating design into the basics of my name fonts or a twist on placement organization, different font sizes, 2 color combos, etc.

Xpressions –Somehow the J appears a bit devilish (or wicked)? to me, or maybe female bossy? I’m not sure, but it raises my adrenaline a notch ;) I’m sure it was in response to my ‘flair’ comment, which would be appropriate. I probably should have said *less predictable*, instead of flair. Please do try again.

Nutscreative -When I saw v4 I liked the pop of color, but this design didn’t work well on my website because of the 2 reasons listed above. Also, the J wasn’t recognizable on it’s own away from the text. If I have an initial in my logo, I would probably want to use it on its own, as an image watermark too. I really liked the ideas you incorporated in v3. The simplicity, and the different bold sizes, and the sideways .com. This also fit pretty well on my website, but I really need to have my full company name. Can I see more with concepts like this and full name?

Nordy –I like v1. Could I see it with the J and the S maybe a bit larger and dipped down slightly maybe unil it reaches the bottom along with Studio? (Maybe a bit wider too as to fill in more of my 400 x 50).
I like v2, but doesn’t work because of the 2 reasons stated above.
I like v3 also, can you switch it up so that it will fit into the short wide format (400x50)?

Glyphica -Definetly v1, and not 2 (the art is too fussy for me). I played with this on my site and found the 2 reasons above made it lose its punch. Text too small after fitting logo in, and text too plain without logo. Can you rework something to fit a 500x400?

Thanks to all and have a great evening!
Joanna

Hello! :D Here's my entry.

The letter J is part of the letter S.
And it also looks like a nose and an eye - a portrait.

Hi Designers,
-when I paste a design to preview on my site, the text appears too small. *But if I try to stretch the whole logo in proportion, the narrow space allowed for height restricts the enlarging. * If I stretch length only, and leave height alone, this obviously is is a different design, right? I would like the logo to appear large like the upper one -see pic attached. *I checked a few other posts and see no mention of the size. *Is this addressed now, in the decision making process or am I just getting too lost in the details? *Thanks for your help!

Hello Designers and thanks for the posts!
I have some feedback..

Xpressions –Thank you for the new! I initially really liked the initials in v3, but the s’s seem a little masculine the more I look at them. Is there an effect on the initials on the 1st logo of v3? I’m not sure if it’s the split color on the banner or if you applied an application -like a fade or gradient effect on the initials but I like it, and want to exaggerate that effect. I like the font (maybe a bit taller), but in order to apply the effect will it have to be more substantial? I’m thinking of highlights that would make it appear dimensional. A photo might make for better description. See the light shimmer at the top of this itouch? http://moriahjovan.com/mojo/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/itouch.jpg I like how it implies form. Can we do that with the letters? If not, maybe some sort of reflection effect we could use. Let’s put spaces between each word in company name. No web address. No split color on banner. In fact, just on white background is fine. Let’s just stick with text for the site, but I’d like to see a few more j or js designs that I could add to the text logo on my business cards and watermark.

Nutscreative –What I liked about V3, got lost in 5 -too busy.
Can we try v3 again with a space between my first and last name, and studio turned sideways? No web address and white background. I think I’ll be sticking with just text for the site, but I’d like to see a few more j or js designs that I could add to the text logo on my business cards and watermark. Thanks again!

Hi Eziey, Thanks for joining in. I like the look of both designs, but finding my name might have too many letters! I’m going to try and ask to differentiate the words a bit. Could we try it with one word red? Also that same idea but with spaces added between the words. Can we try the whole logo on one line and another with ‘studio’ on 2nd line in much much shorter font and span it across as long as my name? White background is fine. Let’s just stick with text for the site, but I’d like to see a few more j or js designs that I could add to the text logo on my business cards and watermark.

I think it's good to address it now to ensure the logo/layout is correct (though our designs are fully scalable).

I will have revisions for you by tomorrow. Regards,

Designers,
I am in awe by the talent here, and thank you for your hard work!

Nordy, I like version 4, Could I see it with the J and the S as same font as rest.
A bit of a different take -is there a way to make the letters glossy looking? -or snazed up a bit more? See pic attached. And a few other ‘monogram initial’ part?

Xpressions –Thanks for your reply and revisions.  I’m sorry, I don’t think I’m giving you accurate feedback. V5 just isn’t drawing me in. because I want no banner and all white background. V7 –closer, but I wanted to see the effect I described applied to the letters in my co. name. –I guess the effect would be applied within the borders of the letters. something along the lines of the effects applied in attached pic.

Blink Graphix –Thanks for joining in, I REALLY like what you are doing with the font!
Distorting, altering, stretching, shrinking and the like.
Can I see some ‘monogram initial’ part that I could use separately as watermark to go with V4 and V5?

Nutscreative –I really like it! Can you show me some variations on just the initial part?

Hi Blink Graphix,
Version 4.2 is perfect. I'll need a few different variations though. solid black and blue/black. solid white and blue/white. Can you make the background transparent. Is that practical?

Yes, the background can be transparent.
