Our student ministry is redesigning our entire theme and look for 2004. The new theme is based on the word "Journey" as in a lifelong journey with Christ. Currently there is a contest in the Logo forum for the overall Student Ministry logo.
Along with that theme we have an event in January called One Way Weekend. It is based on John 14:6. In the past our theme was a Roadwork/Construction Theme and we used road signs for the weekend’s logo. This year I want to keep the name but give it a new look. A look that goes more with the “Journey” theme.
I need the logo to be designed in a program that can easily be taken to a printer to do things like banners, t-shirts, letterhead, and business cards. I guess I am thinking something done in vector? I have both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to change colors and such for different applications.
While I want a great color logo it needs to look good as a one color design. We want to use an earth tone color scheme. Our website is www.mrbcyouth.org if you want to get a feel for our direction and know more about us. If you have any questions just ask!

Craig, this entry coincides with the Student Ministry logo I also created in the Logos Forum. Please review for any changes and/or direction. Doug B)

For this logo I want a different look than our main logo. Want something that goes with the theme, but something that is really edgy.

Mowling -
I like the design! The only changes I can see is the top of the arrow (the triangle) it seems to cut in on both sides. Can you make it a smooth triangle? I like the cut out on the bottom of the stem. I love the colors too. I am going to show it to some folks thiis weekend and get soem other feedback.
Way to go I think this is a great design!

Mowling - I like it.
Jayson - I like that it ties to the website. Can you make the arrow a little more defined? Also can I see it in some other colors? (also need to see it as a black and white design)
Still looking for one more design so I can take the students three to choose from. As soon as I get a third entry I will let the team pick one and go with it.
Thanks for all your doing!!!

Craig,
Here are the changes to the arrow and some different color choices. Let me know of any changes. I will also try to work on another completely different concept for you.

Because of conditions beyond my control I was unable to present the designs for this contest to the committee today. I had to reschedule it for Wednesday, December 10th. I will meet with the group at 5:00pm on that day.
I appreciate the late entries and will include them in the submitions.
Wednesday is definately the Day!!

Hi Craig,
I didn't realize you were running a concurrent contest here. Since you expressed some interest in my other design for the student ministry, I thought it made sense to submit one here that is in keeping with the same style. This one takes on a more nautical feel, but I think it all works under the "journey" theme. In this case the light house points the (one) way.
Hope you like it.

Just a reminder that our team will meet today Wednesday, December 10th at 5:00pm (central time) to make a decision on both logo contest we have running. I will be printing the final copies of each design around 3:00pm to prepare for the meeting.
I want to once again thank you all for the creativity and time you have put into your designs. You have made this a very tough decision. Thank you for the many revisions and ideas you have brought to the table.

I want to thank everyone for their patience and for the designs submitted. They really were all great designs!
Thanks for listening to our feedback and for the countless revisions. We had a very hard time making a decision tonight. There were several logos that we really liked.
Unfortunatly there can be only one!
The design we will go with is the final submission from Mowling!
Again, thank you all so much for your time and efforts put into this and our other contest. You people truly are gifted individuals and we have had such a great experience. We will definately be back for future project.
I will also be letting all my friends know about the great time we have had with this experience.
Thank you thank you thank you!
