We are looking for a new logo for our website,
http://www.motorcityshoes.com

This will also go along with a redesign that we are doing in house after the logo will be made, so we do not need the logo to match our current logo style or color scheme.

We definitely want it to have a 'Motor City' type feel, like the logo for motorcitycasino.com, but not too manly since we cater mostly to women. The final site design will have this logo on a white background.

- fun logo, tiny bit of motor city grit with a touch of elegance

- to sell a lot of shoes :)

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
- mostly women, and a few men that wear women's shoes, exotic dancers

Who would you like to add to your audience?
- we'd like a fun logo that might attract a younger, hip audience

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
- something bold, not really looking for just the name in a font

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
- completely open, we will be redesigning the site once a logo is in place, so we are open to all color ideas

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
- the detroit skyline would be an interesting idea, but not sure if its workable

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
- modern, fun and elegant

What is your tagline or slogan?
- maybe we should make one :)

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
- great shoes, huge selection, ease of purchase

Where will your new logo be used?
- in the top right corner of the site

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
- zappos.com - not bad
- shoes.com - too basic, might work if we had a shorter name
- dsw.com - dont mind the minimalist logo, not sure if it would work for us
- payless.com - kinda like it
- shoebuy.com - looks like something i'd design, not really that good

List competitive URLs if possible
- same as above

What sets you apart from your competitors?
- we cater towards a riskier audience than most of the shoe sites. higher heels, thigh high boots, stripper heels

Bill: Not really what we are looking for. We've tried just about every font we could find and couldn't come up with a script only logo that wasn't missing something.

NHR - first design: I do like the overall idea, but I'm not a big fan of the font or the shoes in the background. Would you be able to try something in a different font and without those shoes? I also thing the font should be bigger.

NHR - second design: I personally like this logo a lot... it just really doesn't seem to work for our company. Possibly if the font were more of a script type, and the MC/Shoe was replace by either a larger shoe or a skyline...

cazeyman: I definitely like your logo the best so far. Would you be able to try a version in red (#770000 or #a90004) with some additional shading in the shoe part of the 'M' to give it a more realistic look. I'd also like to see a different font for the 'shoes'.

Hello Designers. I'd like to apologize for the long wait since my last post. I had a few projects that have tied me up recently.

We have decided to go with Blink Graphix Version 3 (post #13). The only thing we would like changed first is the outline around 'Motor City'. Right now it is white and the words blend too much with the background. Could you darken or accent the background to help it stand out more. Would we also be able to get the final logo with the words 'Motor City' in a few color schemes besides purple and pink?
