Date EXTENDED to FRIDAY, MARCH 12
Hello everyone!
Spring Dell Center needs a new logo and we need your help!
What type of product or service do you offer?
Spring Dell Center is a nonprofit organization assisting over 180 adults with intellectual disabilities in Charles County, MD. Please visit www.springdellcenter.org (http://www.springdellcenter.org) for more information on the company and services we provided.
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Spring Dell Center, Inc.
How long have you been in business?
Since 1967
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
Branding
What are your long term goals?
We are an innovative agency looking to stay ahead with the development of programs allowing individuals to reach their goals and make dreams come true. We will continue to do what we can to provide experiences that can change people’s lives. Currently, we are looking to strengthen our image and well built bond with the community.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
Friday, February 26th
Audience Profile:
Because the organization focuses on providing a variety of services our audience ranges from the individuals we support and their families to the business community surrounding us and is comprised of a variety of ages, primarily adults.
What type of logo would you like?
We have seen an array of logos and would like to stay away from the vague concepts that include a number of random shapes and swishes. We are looking for a bold logo that gets our message across.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
The company’s current colors are royal blue and green as seen here.
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
We were thinking of incorporating a bridge since we focus on “bridging the gap” to employment, community, etc. However, we are not tied to anything and invite all creative ideas.
What is your tagline or slogan?
Bridging The Gap
Where will your new logo be used?
Web site, all marketing materials including advertisements, business cards, trade fair give aways and brochures, Tshirts, ect.
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:
Connecting people with disabilities to the community and employment
Competitive Positioning:
We embrace our competitors and work very closely with them but would like to have an image that clearly separates us from the rest.
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
Arc of SOMD, Harc, Center for Life Enrichment, Melwood
We are not impressed with any of their logos.
List competitive URLs if possible.
http://www.arcsomd.org/ (http://www.arcsomd.org/)
http://www.tcle.org/index.html (http://www.tcle.org/index.html)
http://www.melwood.org/ (http://www.melwood.org/)
What sets you apart from your competitors?
We provide a number of services to both highly functioning individuals and those with more severe disabilities that may require total care, whereas other agencies have limitations on the services they provide and the individuals supported by granted programs. We are the largest provider of supports to folks with severe developmental disabilities. Over 50% of our folks are in wheelchairs (but we do not want a wheelchair in our logo).
OTHER:
Logo must have the ability to be scaled to a verity of sizes and transferred from color to black/white. Also, we would like to see idea’s with and without the tagline included. Attached you will find our current logo and see it needs some work.
