Thanks for being the first in! Looks good, but not really representative. Here are my comments on V.1

The overall feel has a bit of a Harry Potter sense to it (my 8yo actually came up with that comment!) instead of the fire service. I think the shield is distracting.

I would like to see some examples using the triangle layout with a maltese cross (any style of maltese), lightning bolt, and sun in the middle. I am concerned about it being too busy too....this will need to be embroidered on a hat as well as on all of my ppt slides.

Also, the tag line: (Be Educated Be Confident Be Safe) does not need to be in the logo, it was just included for background on the company.

I think v3 is nicer than v.2 but don't like the color schemes. The maltese is hard to see. The red/black cross you used in v.2 had better contrast and I like how you used it in v.3

The words need some work too - too big and plain font. If they could be worked into the actual logo somehow??

My initial thoughts on V.4 is that you are basically using graphics I have already provided (or are currently using as my logo). I am interested in seeing some new ideas based on these.

Anyone else thinking of submitting ideas? I'd like to see some differing concepts to stimulate my eyes!

Great to see some other ideas! This is why I love this site.

Ok, so let me first say to all, that where I visualize this image being used (or seen) often will be as a watermark on the slides in my presentations, embroidered on my shirt & hat, and obviously on correspondence. My concern is that the image should look good in these applications, ie... not too big, busy, and easily transfered to these uses.
If possible, I would like to see how just the initials look incorporated into the logo? I would want the full name as well, but may not use it in all applications.

Pracus: I do lean more towards this style of maltese, but the use of the triangle seems to be un-utilized/unnecessary? I like how the NGLB logo I provided used the triangle, but they had a use for it.
I do have to say that the font you chose does not work for me.

CZ: I like the use of a sun in the middle of the maltese, but the banner & font make it look a bit too much like an award. The colors don't work for me either.

Glyphica: Thanks for something really different. I have to say, I like the subtle reference to the sun. Even though I contributed the maltese as an example, I am not really liking it. Perhaps a more traditional maltese? Also, I would like to see what the initials incorporated into the image might look like from your perspective?

Thanks for all the ideas designers. I do feel like we are getting close to a logo that represents us, but may need some further work.

Pracus: On v.3 I like what you have, but would like to see a sun instead of the triangle if possible. Also the font is better, but could I see some different sizing/positioning of the wording?

CZ: I think what you have here is nice, but I would like to see the maltese in red and only the center in yellow. I don't really care for the style of lightning bolt you have there.

Artimii: The design is interesting. Could I see it with the following mods? No shadow on the bolt, no circle of dots in the center (maybe a small yellow circle - sun, instead), and different font on the "Energy".

Pracus: V4 looks really good, but the only drawback is the fact that the bolt stands out more than I'd like. If the maltese were in a graduated red instead of grey,I think it would look good. My only concern would be still creating some separation between the maltese and the bolt. Also, could I see it with the bolt I provided? I'd like to compare the 2.

Glyphica: While I like the really different ideas you have submitted, I think you have left too much of an association with the fire service out. A maltese cross is the symbol of the fire service, and important to my message.

Ok, then. What I would like to see is:
A different color in the bolt so that it stands out a bit from the red maltese. Maybe a darker red, and one with green (for solar being "green") ?

A more yellow sunburst in the center.

Pracus: V8 & 9 are using a different bolt from what I liked in V5. I did not care for the lime green for the bolt, and the more yellow sunburst. so lets stick with V5 as the final design.

Also, I see many designers use an actual color number where you are using RGB. I would like to ensure that the colors I finally pick are going to be consistent. Since I am not a pro in this area, what do you recommend?

Hi Becca!

Yes, I was using RGB temporarly for my convienience during color revisions. Also a version with shadow would be always RGB also CMYK. Apart from this you will also get the solid version with Pantone color numbers.
We can choose, I recommend PMS 186 for red PMS 164 for yellow/orange and PMS Black for black :)
I you agree then I will prepare the final files.
