Please find all details entered below in attached description of project .doc. In that document are images for project.

I haven't worked with Design Outpost before (have worked with other outsourcers). Let me know what additional info you need. Thanks! :) Cary Ellis

Project Summary:
What text should be included in the main part of the logo?

Super Immunity Guide with room for a tag line like
good better best (small - maybe on an angle)

What type of product or service do you offer?

My business is primarily online with
Books, Videos, Ebooks, member’s area with video
Teaching people to follow a more healthy diet and lifestyle
good, better, best system - that allows them stepping stones to change

How long have you been in business?

I’ve run health clinics and programs over the last 40 years,
but have just written this book and developed this image of
a Super Immunity Guide during the past 1 year

see my history here:

http://www.caryellis.com/about-cary-ellis/
http://www.caryellis.com/ebooks-by-cary-ellis-author/
http://www.caryellis.com/community-founder-virtual-earth-village/

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?

Show my audience I can act as their guide

An image of being Powerful but kind expert who is earthy and approachable with the
knowledge and support people need to make lifestyle changes.
Confidence (from my audience)
Fun!!!

Develop my audience’s sense of confidence in my ability to provide them the information and support they need to change their lives to a more healthy lifestyle. An image that is empowering to my work - to be seen as the “expert”, but also a friendly kind guide who supports them.

What are your long term goals?

To have a large audience (fans) - purchasing my books, ebooks, following my videos, considering my work something that helps them change their lives in a fun way that they share with friends.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?

March 17, 2010 (this is flexible if we don’t have enough entries by then, but would like it done in the next couple of weeks).

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience

A general audience who know me from my years of work, friends, family, friends of friends - mostly health conscious people.

Who would you like to add to your audience?

- young moms wanting to learn about healthy foods and ways to take care of their families
cancer patients looking for natural solutions (breast cancer, recovery from chemotherapy)
people with serious illness (arthritis, fibromialgia, environmental sensitivity)
common ills such as colds and flu
- regular folks who want to learn how to live in a more healthy way

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
The sites I listed below all have logo headers I like.
Strong, to get people excited, curious and irresistibly
drawn to what I’m offering them.
Fun and inspired.
Not too professional, boring or serious, but still clean and effective.

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)

I have no strong ideas on this - will like to see what you come up with.
Here are some points:
I really like the colors in my book cover below (that might be a theme to go with).
I don’t want to look too similar to any of the competitor sites listed below.
I like the color at my site caryellis.com - it has been lighter, but I’m also tired of it - and not sure if it gets the impact we want.
I’d like my logo to be grabby, compelling, interesting, fun, still with a little elegance & sense of quality.
Prefer sans serif primary font - bold.
Like my site to be white background with black type - best for reading - so there won’t be a lot of overall color there except in header / logo (which will go all the way across top probably). The font(s) can be white if it works or gradient or ?....

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
PLEASE NOTE IN THIS SECTION - I HAVE INCLUDED IMAGES - YET I DON’T WANT THIS TO BE CRAZY BUSY - I WANT IT TO BE CLEAR AND FOCUSED - TO GRAB ATTENTION & DRAW THEM IN. (Possibly use the man (make into a woman) with map and compass, and we save the more fancy map images for the additional item described below).

None of these attached images are exactly right - nor do I have
permission to copyright them. But we can use them for ideas.

We’ve talked about these ideas - a guide - like the sketch a lot but would be nice to be feminine. And I’m not attached to the idea - if it can look good, professional, integrated that will be ok - and I need to see it. It could be fun if done right.
A map A compass would be an additional image. I like the one on Right best below.

A “treasure map” could also be included in the logo (or maybe just reference like in the guide’s hands above. Theme can be included if it works, as it will be the extra project below. I like some of the designs above (from google images/ treasure map).

I’d like to develop a map independent of the logo that has a list like the mind map below. I’ll pay a little extra if the person who does this logo would like to develop this additional map also. If a map is used in the logo it should be in harmony with the additional map.

ADDITIONAL MAP TO GO WITH LOGO PROJECT FOR EXTRA $ (using something like the mind map image above, something like one of the map images, using Week 1-4 below as contents for the mind-map concepts below “good better best” and a few pictures like a waterfall, etc.) The map should also carry on the compass in its theme if used in logo.
Good Better Best Health Discovery Map
map contents (each week is a segment / each detail in that week a stepping stone):
Week 1 Fuel: water, green superfoods, fresh fruit, fresh veggies, whole foods
Week 2 Clean Up: coffee/tea, no white flour, no white sugar, no refined foods, reduce meat/dairy
Week 3 When & How: protein breakfast, 3 small meals / day, nothing between meals, ratio carbs/protein, 12 hour night no food
Week 4 Action: Exercise, Rest, Sunshine, fresh air, mental/emotional positive

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?

Friendly, earthy, approachable, helpful, kind, supportive, informative, knowledgeable, encouraging, inspiring, exciting, powerful, fun

What is your tagline or slogan?

Super Immunity Guide -
Power up Your Immune System Now!
(Everyday Habits for Super Immunity)

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?

Most people need a “boot in the rear” to really change their lifestyle and quit eating at McDonalds. I want people to feel like they are going to get that from me.

Knowledgeable, kind, friendly, supportive encouragement to create a more healthy lifestyle.
A good place to keep coming back to for regular support (rather than just buying a book and leaving), as in joining the member’s area, reading blog posts, watching videos.

Here is an image of my current ebook. It is selling pretty well. Whoever works on this logo and gets it right I will mention around and refer them to other people needing work done.

I actually like the colors on my book a lot. They could easily be used in the logo.

Please go see my alternate site http://www.superimmunitysecrets.com
And my main site http://www.caryellis.com

Where will your new logo be used?

MAIN - My website header http://www.caryellis.com
Please note the header will be designed after logo (incorporating logo) -
and I’d like the photo currently at my site to become part of header.
DVD covers for video products
Ebooks
Print
Possibly on cloth bags or t-shirts
Bootcamp or retreat (online or in person)

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
List competitive URLs if possible

Fat loss Quickie - hard hitting visual design - like this one - like the color
http://fatlossquickie.com/blog/your-fat-loss-potential-and-a-swift-kick-in-the-butt/

David Wolfe - like the design - he’s probably my most direct competitor / peer
http://www.longevitynowprogram.com/launchday/
http://www.davidwolfe.com/ (like his picture in this one)

Truth About Abs - Informative, fun
http://www.truthaboutabs.com/

Renegade Health - like his visually the least, but it’s fun and entertaining
http://renegadehealth.com/blog/
http://www.renegadehealth.com/highraw/7yd8ejd/

This one not so much competitor but are retreats in the same field. Like the energy of it - but it’s a little soft and passive - not something that grabs you!
http://www.treeoflife.nu/home-index/

These aren’t competitors - but like their style - and impact of the simple - though not sure we have to end up this simple
http://drivingtraffic.com/
http://www.internetmarketingspeed.com/

What sets you apart from your competitors?

They’re men & I’m a woman
I’m probably coming a little more from the heart - supportive, encouraging, inspirational - and they’re probably all a little more hardcore marketers than I am.
I don’t have anywhere near as large an audience yet as any of them - but we are all in the same circles and same style of internet marketing - I feel they are peers - and would like to create an image that puts me on level ground with them - as I pursue building a bigger audience
The fact that I’ve chosen “Super Immunity” as my health niche - gives it a different angle than any of them

Targeted Message:
State a single-minded word or phrase that will appropriately describe your company:

Super Immunity Guide (me), the “good, better, best” system (means I offer people steps of transition from where they are to a more healthy lifestyle)

Logo: Super Immunity Guide “good better best”

Tagline: Power up Your Immune System Now!

Everyday Habits for Super Immunity

Hey - I like your design - very nice!
(Would like to see other ideas also).
I like the second one better - less busy - though both are very nice.

A little stronger font in Super Immunity.
A little adjustment in colors - brighter red, deeper green
From your portfolio the red in "Brand Consulting", dark green in "Home Technology".
I'm not positive about the orange (though it may be good) - I like the colors in "Story by Photo"

thanks!!!!

LutFi

Thank you for your feedback.
Here's the revision. Version # 3.

I'll make another design.

caryellis
03-11-2010, 08:02 PM
Hi - thanks for making the changes.

I like the new yellow colors better than the original orange.
Would like to see it with the darker body / sun behind it.

Experiment with the Super Immunity font or how the words are arranged.

Leave #2 - too busy (sorry my mistake not mentioning the number) the "atom"
Work with #1 "sun" - my favorite part of that is the body / the sun / the glow in the body

Also would be interested in seeing a completely new idea - with words & images a little tighter together. I have a feeling of what I want - but not an exact image. Look at the "ball" image for Longevity Conf at davidwolfe.com - not that I want it to look like that - but it's tight, clean, efficient, says a lot with an image. Or the word Disney or your logo... you have great ideas - let it fly...

Might try working in GOOD BETTER BEST as a subtitle (but may be too much)

thanks!!!

PS I like #2 & #4 you did for GreenWorks - not to say I want mine to look like that - but I like what you did - best of the bunch. Like that color green.

Hi Lutfi - Thanks for all your efforts. Several very nice ideas.

I was looking them all over last night with my partner (he's an artist too) - I think we're liking version #7 best. I/we really like the graphic image - nice flow and life force.

He likes the text part of it.

I'm not 100% sold on the fonts /style/colors
Would you experiment a little with those ?

1. Use exactly what you have with the red block, etc & try some other font styles
2. Try with colors you have in #3
3. Try with colors in #3 and the same font and color for Guide you have in #3
4. See what else you come up with as far as font/color combos go. I realize we don't want to overpower your graphic with too heavy a font -

It looks good in B&W.

I'm not really sure about how "good better best" looks - how about putting it in a little starburst - and put it on an angle? Something that doesn' t overpower the rest of the design (not sure if this is a good idea or not)

Thanks!
:) Cary

Hey- Also - go back and look at my book cover - I really like the feel of colors & theme there. I realize that you probably got the red block from there - try and incorporate a little more of that style. I also like the tan to white gradient in the background and will probably try to do that for my website header.

Maybe "good better best" on top of each other in a "guarantee" symbol (maybe kind of screened or light) so it's there but not dominant.

thanks!

Hey Lufti - I woke up this morning with an image idea -
would you put this together: use #7, add the word Lifestyle in the color and font in #5 used for Guide, and keep Guide in #7 in the red box - so it would read like this:
SUPER IMMUNITY
Lifestyle Guide (Lifestyle in the tan/gold color script and Guide in the red box like you have it)
Not sure where to put "good better best"

I use Lifestyle Guide a lot - and hadn't thought of putting it in this but I think it will be more descriptive of what I do if in there.
thanks!

Hi Lutfi - I like #9 - would you try the font used for guide in version #4 - for Lifestyle?
How about making a "guarantee seal" like this: http://www.photoshopstar.com/web-graphics/satisfaction-guaranteed-seal-or-badge/
and put
Good
Better
Best
in the middle of it
and around the circle instead of 'satisfaction guaranteed" put "GET HEALTHY NOW"
- something I can put near the logo but not part of the logo. thanks!

Let me contemplate a little

I like your idea of putting the good better best over the graphic

Get Healthy Now! (bottom)

Hi Lufti -
How about this - the "seal" is a little heavy.

How about putting the "abstract person" graphic from inside the circle in #13 into the inside of the "seal".

Remove the words "good better best"

To the outside add 4 points of the compass - either gold or just gray shadows - see what you think works

I'm thinking I may want to use it with #12 logo - maybe not right next to it, but with it

Keep the same words in the black part of the circle.

thanks!

Hi Lutfi (sorry I keep misspelling your name 00ps!);)
Please be sure to keep current version of the "Seal" we may use it - I like it a lot - just would like to try the changes & see if it's a better look.
Not even sure if you design will fit or look good in there - maybe try it in black and gold?

Try with and without compass points (as they may be too much) - I like that sort of "guarantee" look
thanks!

Hi you are certainly welcome - Lutfi and I have worked through a lot of ideas over the past week and I'm quite happy with where we've gotten to. If you'd like to put an idea out please do - I'd like to see it - yet wouldn't want you to be disappointed if I go with what we already have.
Will keep posted! Thanks! :) Cary

Hi Lutfi - I really like the work we've done this past week on my project and am very excited about what you created. We have some work to do to get it to where I'd like it to be.

Two other designers contacted me last night to ask if they could post designs. So I had considered extending a couple of days to allow for that.
BUT - I really like your work - and if you are comfortable working through the design revisions below - I'll go ahead and award you the project.

I heard in the news there's some unrest in your part of the world - so hope everything is ok with all of you.
I read your profile & your site - I like that you are into health and consciousness - I think your interest gave you good insight to do this design for me.
In the future can see us doing more projects together and me referring people to you here that are into health and consciousness.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WORKING THROUGH THE FOLLOWING REVISIONS - TILL WE GET WHAT WE LIKE - AND I'LL GO AHEAD AND AWARD THE PROJECT TO YOU.
Using Versions #11 & #12:
1. "Person" graphic with arms up - remove from circle.
2. Make letters all same font (ie: Arial - probably or Helvetica or similar) - can use bold/ italic/ thin/ thick) Super (red) / IMMUNITY (try the dark green) / Lifestyle (try the light green/italic) / Guide (red)
Set this up and show me in 2-3 fonts & styles
3. Show it
- with the "person" above the words
- and "person" to left of words
4. How it looks in B&W is important
5. I'd like to give you maybe $30+ to make a "stamp" - only this:
"person" with circle you have around it now
with Super Immunity above and Lifestyle Guide below - wrapping around the circle
AND then remove the tan circle and just leave the words and the person
try it both ways
6. When all done I'd like vector images and jpg, and may ask for a couple of different color versions

If you are good with working through all this - I will gladly award you the project. Please let me know asap. Thanks!!! :) Cary

caryellis
03-17-2010, 02:16 PM
PS Also forgot to add for maybe $30 more I'd also like to have you make a gradient background for my website header with logo in it.

And besides that once entire logo project is done - I'd like to have you make a "Treasure Map" for me with compass & guide that would be 8.5x11" finished - that might be an additional $50

These are good. What was the font you used for Super Immunity in #11? Is there any other Sans Serif font you like you could try?
Please try Super Immunity in the lighter green used in #11 and Lifestyle Guide in the tan/gold color of the circle - bigger and more bold.
Try with circle around the person and without. Thanks!

Hi Lutfi - I really like the green & tan/gold (what do you think?).
Would like to see more of the darker gradient along with the light (as in circle) in the letters lifestyle guide.

Plz giv these a try: (and if you have any other creative idea)

Both without the circle (though I love the circle)
Font and text: I like the font - what do you think?
Plz show: Super IMMUNITY Lifestyle Guide (upper & lower case)
Plz show: super IMMUNITY lifestyle guide (make immunity same size as the lower case letters)

Person:
Try person and super Immunity in BLUE (maybe 3333CC with 3333FF) or whatever you think best - this would be for men

Try person and Super immunity in dark/lt pink (maybe try CC0099 with FF66FF) or whatever you think best (this would be for cancer ladies)

(I will use all 3 - for a different audience)

Lifestyle Guide:
I really like the tan/gold color for Lifestyle Guide - plz make it more bold but not quite as bold as top line and maybe 6pts or so smaller than top line.

Circle:
I really like the circle and miss it when it's gone - but the person without it has a little more movement (again - might use both ways depending on situation).
Can you think of anything else do do with the tan/gold idea
How about this? Make the person a 2-tone color, then use the tan/gold lines to shadow some of the lines of the person -
I love the color in there (and like the circle) but want to make it a little more dynamic -

Thanks for your efforts & creativity!
:) Cary
I have a messy sheet I practiced on yesterday - I'll try to load pdf to front of this thread. I don' t like all the multiple colors - looks too much like "frozen veggies"! :) I really like the green & tan/gold & would like to see that same theme with the other colors

Let's see what we end up with and then we'll do the "stamp" with it (thanks for putting those together)

Hi Lutfi -
Regarding above post -
Let's develop B&W image first - I'll give you a number of variables to put it together with and once we get that to where we like it - it will be easier to choose color.

I'm going to upload a pdf with instructions - it will be easier to use images to explain

Hello,
To be honest, there are a lot of guides here. :D
Ok. Let's start one by one.

These Version # 18 series are in B&W. Also with and no circle.
18 A,D,G,J are using Arial font family.
18 B,E,H,K are using Helvetica font family.
18 C,F,I,L are using Arial font family.

We are also tried to use combinations all capital case, all lower case, lower capital case, lower italic capital case.

Hi thank you for putting these all here together.

I realize it seems you'd rather not go through the process to make them. I'm sorry to bother you.
I would like to see it with the large font 6pts smaller, the bottom line dark like the top line and the same size as top line. A few that I requested that are not here.
If that is too much to ask let me know.
Also - you could post them all small like they were in the original designs.
I'd like to see the text just a bit smaller compared to the person.
And lined up next to his/her feet like I showed in the ones I did.
If you would rather not I'll try to figure out a way to do it myself so we can make a good decision.
Thanks Lutfi!

Yes, these are too much.
Why? Because your previous guidelines is not clear and direct enough for me. Make me confused.

Your quoted guidelines above are clear and direct.

These are the update:
Version 19 are for position 1.
Version 20 are for position 2.
Version 21 are for position 3.

all A,B are Arial.
all C,D are Helvetica.
all E,F are Univers.

With all of these, I hope you can decide:
- use circle or not?
- which position? 1,2,3?
– which font you will use? Arial,Helvetica, Univers?

Hi Lutfi -
I'd like to work with these:
B&W 20B - show in B&W and super IMMUNITY (green)
lifestyle guide (tan)
Stamp #16 C

#13 - may use as logo for some places and the plain one others. Is it possible for you to make this into a header for me? Just maybe a soft gradient white-tan background like book cover? (for website www.caryellis.com

Hello Cary,

In Design Outpost, Header project usually separate from logo. And it require additional fee. Please check on our Price List reference at link here : http://www.designoutpost.com/pricelist.htm

And please contact our administrator Palmer at e-mail: palmer@designoutpost.com

Meanwhile here are preview color anf B&w for 20B and stamp 16C.

Thank you.

Hi Lutfi - I would just like to have #13 and the simpler version 20B & 16C to go with it. If you would just send those in vector format and jpg that will be fine and we can call it good. Thanks! :) Cary

Hi Lutfi -
PS - let's finish this - I'm still having to decide some things but don't want to hold up you getting your money.

Since you have the work done, I'd like to have
19B, 20B & 21B in both black and green/tan
16C (color & B&W)
#13

I did say I'd pay $30 extra for the stamp so I'll add that on.
Please let me know if that is good or if you need any more to complete this. Thanks!
:) Cary

Hello Cary,

Ok, I agree for additional $30 for the stamp.

You can proceed to add the payment by contacting first our Administrator Palmer at e-mail: palmer@designoutpost.com

As soon as you finished the transfer, then I can prepare the master-files and sent the link to download all of these master-files.

Thank you.

All good Lutfi - I haven't been able to try printing, but everything looks good. Thanks again. We are finished. I'm not sure how to get your money released. I did tell Palmer it's done. Let me know if I need to do something else. Good working with you. :) Cary
