What type of product or service do you offer?
We are a swim team/club with swimmers ages 5 - 18. We are located in a smaller town in rural Colorado. We compete year-round. We are a non-profit.
How long have you been in business?
19 years
What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
The club currently has a few different logos, all used in different places. We are trying to move forward with a single design.
What are your long term goals?
To provide a quality club recreation program for kids.
When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
We would like to pick a design by May 25, if possible.

Kids on our swim team and their families.
Who would you like to add to your audience?
We would like the kids to be able to buy shirts and sweatshirts with the new logo and have people in town and at out-of-town swim meets recognize us as a team.
Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Big strong "M" with the marlin fish around it. Words "Montrose Marlins" or "Montrose" under/next to it.
Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Black, (royal) blue, white
Our new team suit is these colors. The suit is speedo's Sonic Splice in black/blue if you want to see a picture. We have historically used blues & blacks in our logos. We will use the logo on our web site, but also for screen printing on shirts. Two color printing is affordable for us (printing the blue & black parts)
Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
Yes, we have a marlin graphic that we are currently using and would probably keep it or a similar marlin fish. Not anything cartoon like. I can provide files of our current graphic.

Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?
There are a lot of Marlin swim teams in the US. We don't want a cartoon fish. We need a simple logo so we can afford to have it screen printed. We would prefer to focus on the town name "Montrose" than the "Marlins" but would be open to logos that use both. Or using two versions: one with "Montrose Marlins" and one with just "Montrose" and the graphic.
