Hi Tony Ryder,

Silvercom Mobile deals in Mobile Phones, Mobile Accessories and other products to do with Mobile Phones. However, Silvercom as a name also do Logos & Ringontes, Ink Cartridges, PDAs, Cameras etc, so to call these 'Silvercom Mobile' would be wrong.

Therefore the logo 'Silvercom Mobile' would be easily changable to Silvercom Fun, Silvercom PDAs or Silvercom Home for example.

The Main site is to show the logo 'Silvercom' as the Mobile phones & Accessories is our main business, we require the logo to show more of a brand rather than what we do. More of a name/brand rather than and picture logo.

We are totally open to anything, but don't do anything playful. Silvercom provide home call cost cutting, business phones, and we need to show of our large entity as well as getting accross the brand.

Some of our competitors include:-

1 (http://www.mobileshop.com)
2 (http://www.phones4u.co.uk)
3 (http://www.carphonewarehouse.com)
4 (http://www.mobilerepublic.com)

All are simple, clean and give off a good image. Please not that the colours are Blue & Red, you can see the site at www.silvercom.co.uk, and the top of the site can be changed to adapt your new logo, as long as it gives out a BRAND message that can be used well in any marketing, and comes accross as memorable, clean, high profile, trusty, and easy to play with.

There needs to be something that people can remember us by, and this could be the font or anything, base your logo on a faous one, or simply put some thought into our marketing plan, and explain your thoughts with regards to design and how it may help within any marketing.

Please post any questions you may have and I will get back to you, please no logos that are too american, remember we are targeting the UK market, and look at the site it needs to fit into, and how it can be incorperated into other marketing use, ie newsletters, mags, letterheads, bus cards etc.

Happy designing,
Cheers guys
Tony

Hi Tony, Can you elaberate on "& Letterhead & Bus Card Offer" in the title?

Sorry, I mean that who ever wins can also design the letterhead and bus card that we will pay for

MUTE DESIGN

Here is my first Idea...showing the "Mobile" aspect.

1on1

Liking that, looks good, try and do another using a font aspect, as you are in the UK, you know that orange use both the square logo and the text logo, and you know the font that is assocciated with orange, I like the design, but thnk there should be something to accessociate with silvercom, ie a box, star, triangle, and something that silvercom can go into if we didn't want to show the normal logo, know what I mean? So I theory you have two logos, like orange.

But thats good, show me what else you can do?

MUTE:-

mmmm

not sure on that, not liking the silvercom text, not in the blue and red colours, think of us owning the blue and red, so if anyone sees it, we want them to think of silvercom, the underneath text is not nice either, hate to say it, but looks a bit too american...show me something else on the points written above,

Cheers
Tony

Tony,

Here is a simple look for you. I think the "S" symbol could work well standing alone as your companies image. Let me know what you think. I can easily add the text for mobile, PDA, fun, etc.

Jayson

disturb,

Sorry not liking it, not sure on the fonts being used and not seeing the spike in marketing and branding terms.

Mowling,

Liking that better, nice friendly font, nice 'E' not sure on the background thing, looks a but big, but the one without looks cool.

Keep it coming guys
Tony

11-26-2003, 02:51 PM
Hey, I am liking that Jayson, good thinking, I can see that working, not sure on the font, do a few with different fonts, and may be do a couple with the S tiltled round to the left a little.

Good Work

Tony,

Below are some new text ideas. The bottom concept of each idea has the S slightly tilted to the left.

11-26-2003, 03:45 PM
Mowling, looking good, like that a lot, liking the S

Disturb, sorry, not really liking any of them... sorry

Jayson, not sure on all the fonts, liking the second a bit, after coming back to the comp after a couple of hours, the S has a different effect on me, I will look again in the morning, but I like the idea, see if you can come up with anything else cos I like your thoughts.

Cheers all, and thanks hugely, been a really good night

Last two for now

tony_ryder
11-27-2003, 05:20 AM
Jayson,

These designs are good, loving how you are using the 'S' as a focal point for the logo, not to sure on the font, maybe needs something a bit more likable, I still like the second, from 1on1, but needs some other feature I think. Jay is looking good though as well, we are getting some good ideas and things are looking good. But I am still not 100% on anything, and need to be in order to give a winner.

Can anyone send some more designs, nothing to complicated, but something that is memorable, and easy to implement into an advert, if you think of a small paper advert, some of the logos above would look a little too big,

Lets see a few more, wipe the state clean and show me somthing that will give a great image to the company and can be really utilised in the advertising we do.

Cheers
Tony

tony_ryder
11-27-2003, 07:06 AM
I am liking your design 1on1, this and the other look really good, lose the mobile bit, and also see if you can design a slogan at the front, something to accossiate with the company, have a look at the competitors on the 1st message and see what they are doing,

Can't wait

Thanks

tony_ryder
11-27-2003, 08:53 AM
2 square,

looking good, here is a logo I have seen, see attached, I am really liking the slogan, looks good, see if you can do like in the attached is the edges.

Also, not sure on the font, I like it, but it looks really boring, can anything be done with that aswell,

Not too much, cos it is really looking good

11-27-2003, 08:53 AM
Here are the logos without the mobile text - haven't come up with a tagline as of yet.

tony_ryder
11-27-2003, 08:54 AM
Bit darker red aswell

tony_ryder
11-27-2003, 08:56 AM
1on1, I am really liking the bottom on, and all three to be honest, if we can get a silvercom image, like the design in 2 square then we should have a good one!!

Also, just thinking, the strapline is 'why pay more!' with the more being in red..

Tony

JaysonC
11-27-2003, 05:54 PM
Tony,

I think this new concept allows you three options.

1) You can use the circle image alone
2) The circle image can stand alongside the company name
3) The image can be placed inside the company name

Hi tony, here are some elegant and simple logos :).

tony_ryder
12-01-2003, 03:06 AM
Hi Guys!!!

We have a winner!!!!

First of all let me give you some feedback on some of the Designs.

Mowling - some good designs, I liked some of them but nothing really grabbed us. Sorry this time, but we will be back - not the winner.

Fuse - we feel the designs are good, and look good, though we don't think that they are simple enough - sorry, not the winner.

Raja - Great design, looks good, but just a little too complicated, a bit to much for some people and atill has an element of playfulness in it, when we need to be corporate. Sorry this time, not the winner.

FTP - sorry but far too American - not the winner.

So the winner isssssssssssssss.....

1on1!!

Great designs, great response to our thoughts, really like all the logos, but we are going to go back to the very first on the 26th. It has a but of an outer circle, and looks really good. The three circles on top of the 'V' can be used in marketing. We aren't going to use the 'S' symbol designed near the end, we just think the 26th on its own looks cool, but corperate. All we ask is for the logo to be done, with the 'why pay more!' in the red wide font, and also to do a design with the 'why pay' in blue and the 'more!' in red.

So congratualtions, and as you are UK based, this should make things easy for us.

Well done everyone else and thanks so so much!!!
