KARMA SURFBOARDS - Logo needed! $75

Talented Artists,

Me again. This time we need a logo for KARMA SURFBOARDS, a line aimed primarily towards teenage girls, a growing demographic in the surfing world! This line will have a bit of a softer, simpler theme to it than our edgier (& significantly more complicated) Voodoo line.

I had a tough time locating the font I like but finally found it on the attached T- shirt! I think it's a 1970's disco theme but I'm not sure. Anyway, the name KARMA will run vertically up the white surfboard just like the Voodoo line. There should be two colors used in the Karma font - a flourescent green as well as either a bright purple or hot pink (the choice is yours).

The KARMA logo will be on the other side of the board, measure about 4 inches in diameter, and should be a TRIBAL DESIGN. I would like to pattern it after the tribal logo that I will be attaching (but not exactly). The KARMA logo should either be flourescent green or a combination of green and pink/purple.

You designers continue to amaze us - one great idea after another!

Our favorites at this point are from EL Kootcho, Mute Design and Beatz.

EL Kootcho - Can you adjust your colors a bit? We would like brighter greens, pinks and purples if possible. I like all 3 font styles at this point. However, I would like to change the last two and make them 2 lines thick rather than 3 (hopefully, you know what I mean). It may be too difficult to read from a distance w/3 lines. I would also like to use a more circular arc for the "K" rather than the more angled arc.

I like the logo but we need to change it enough so that it doesn't look like I completely copied the one I attached. I would like to put it in a circle and change it a little bit - it doesn't need to be too ornate.

I'm checking w/my partner on the final art requirements.

Beatz - Can you make the tribal logo more like the one attached and in a circle? It will be 4-6 inches in diameter and will need to be rather simple. The name will need to be clean and visable from a distance so we may need fewer lines in the font.

MUTE DESIGN - Like the tribal logo w/the flower inside (11:10am submission). Can you experiment a little with that? Don't like the "K" too much. In the last one (bright purple), can you replace the black font with green or pink and use the flower logo?

Hi,
Since its "KARMA" can I suggest using a Lotus Flower? It totally fits the theme. If you like the design I can go ahead and add the karma Branding.

Since its a board that is going to be marketed for your "Female" clients, I tried to do more of a soft Tribal. I think the first tribal/flower post was too harsh. Anyway thats why I went with the softer tribal design....if you were wondering ;)

I hear ya! As usual, your work is awesome. For our purposes, a simpler design will be the direction for this logo. There will be additional artwork on some of the boards that will be ornate, This is just going to be a simple, subtle, easy to recognize logo. Simple, subtle. Everybody from this end likes the simple concept of the 11:10 am post yesterday. We don't want to get any more ornate than that. I'm not a big fan of flowers in logos myself but something basic is OK

Agreed - I like the placement of #2. However, we will also need to have the ability to place the name on one side of the board and the logo on the other.

As far as colors, I like the rain forest green as well as the neon pink in your last post. Is that the same green as "option b" in your second post? I like that green too (these are the greens I want to use in the Area 51 logo too!). The bright purple is great too in your second to last post. So let's experiment w/2 color combinations of the green/pink and the green/purple in both the font and the logo. Let's get the black out of the font.

The only other change is the letter "K" I want the k to consist of a vertical lne and an arc. Basic but nice. That's about it. We're almost there.

Here are some different color combos, I changed the K per your directions. If I win I will supply you with the Karma text as one file and the completed logo as another. That will allow you to place the text anyway you like, while still having the completed logo for other areas.

You're close. I would like the word "KARMA" font in 2 colors - green and pink and green/purple. The part of the font for "KARMA" that was black and now is white should be a color - pink or purple. I would also like the petals in the flower to be a contrasting color (green/pink or green/purple). I'm not too concerned about the word "surfboards" since it won't be on the board. Maybe do "surfboards" in a different font (I still like that Terminator 2 futurisitic font). The "K" is improved but let's adjust it a bit - it's too much of an arc (too much like a "C."

The colors - still the original rain forest green and the original bright purples and pinks. Nothing subtle - Neon, bright colors like some of the AREA 51 posts. The brighter the better!!!

Yes, closer. I still want the actual flower petals to be a solid contrasting color rather than just white.

The "K" needs to be more like the one in E.K.'s last post - I don't want the flower in the letter. Let's put a little space/division between the letters as thet flow together a little too much - may be hard to read from a distance. Somehow we need a little separation.

I would like to see the green/purple (the purple from your 11/28-10:27pm) post. What shape of purple is that? I also like that font version of surfboards in black. Can you also do a few versions with the "KARMA" font shading you used in the 10/28 11:10am and 11:33am (Venus fly trap).

I would like to buy the logo and 2 fonts - one as a back up. Can we throw the 2nd in for $25 and make the prize an even $100?

1) KARMA FONTS I like are the 11/30 -1:24pm and the 11/30 - 10;10pm. I think I solved the "K" dilemma - My "arc" concept doesn't work so let's just make the top part of the K a straight line at a 45 degree angle (identical to the bottom line) rather than the curved arc. If you look back to your 11/28 post (6;28pm), the "K" is fine except the vertical line to the left and the slant connect forming a "V" - we just don't want them to connect - that's it. I'm not good at explaining myself so I apologize....

2) the "surfboards font from your last 2 posts is perfect.

3) the tribal flower logo in 2 tone is great - could I just see how it would look if the flower petals were a "little" larger in relation to the rest of the logo - just a little. No other logo changes

Like the effect in the 11:10 - and 11:33 posts from 10:28 (darker on bottom). Could I see a few w/that

COLOR COMBOS
We would love to see a bunch of color combinations using: hot pink, rain forest green, and that super bright purple. My partner would like to know if you have any other greens between the rain forest and the lime - bright but the lime is too yellowish. Those are definitely the 3 colors we like.

Here are the text revisions. How does the top K look? I am goning to send you raw text along with the stylized logo. This way your manufacturer can have the ability to change the colors if needed. The files are at 300 DPI so they are quite large for clarity during print. I will be sending them today to the e-mail you gave me. They will be in a Stuffit file.

Thanks. I got your message and will give you a different email address. Still have a few tweaks 1st that we need to work through. Should be able to knock through this quickly...

1) FONTS

a) The 1st KARMA font is close still needs some tweaking. The "K" is almost there. Let the lower slanted line connect directly w/the vertical line rather than the other slant. I can sketch and fax to you if needed. Each font should be 2 colors (not including black outline) and we like the shading you used in the posts on 11/28 -11;10am and 11:33am as well as the black outline of the outer edges in the 6:28pm post on 11/29. Please resubmit.

B) The 2nd Karma font is Ok except we still have the curve (arc) in the top of the "K." I want that line straight just like the bottom. I would also like to see the inner font color just a little thicker. For instance, on the very 1st one, the green should stand out a little more.

c) Let's do the "SURFBOARDS" font in the inverse color combo - the black should be the color of the edges rather than the body.

2) IS THERE A GREEN THAT IS BETWEEN THE AMAZON GREEN AND THE LIME GREEN? We like the lime but hoped there might be one a little less yellowish. The green used by PENNY LN (11/30 9:51 am) is the PERFECT shade. Do you have that too? Pleeeeeeeeassssssse!!! Don't make me beg....

3) LOGO - Can you make the flower petals the contrasting color rather than just white (the entire petal in the color). Each of the flower logos should be 2 colors - for instance, the body of the logo in green with the edges pink and the flower pedals pink (just like in the 10;10 and 10:15 posts on 11/30) Just fo comparison, can I see the contrastin edges a little thicker so the contrasting color sticks out more

Sorry for the changes but I REALLY have to get this right - these surfboards are gonna cost me a fortune!

Love the green! I actually meant the inverse of your "K" with the .TOP being longer than the bottom. Can you just reverse the 2 curves.

The thick black shading is just too dramatic - let's go back to the thinner black shading like the post from 10;27pm on 11/28 (THE BRIGHT PURPLE).

Could I just see the flower petals slightly larger too?

Sorry to be a pain but the "K" didn't turn out as hoped. Please go back to the 1st "K" (yep, all that for nothing) you started with - it is FINE (11/28 - 11:10am post).

We like the black outline. If it's possible, can you add just a tap more shading to the black outline (just a little). Please email me HIGH RESOLUTION JPEGS that I can forward to my manufacturer for the 2 fonts. Please separate the flower from the font as they will be on opposite sides of the board.

Trying to figure out what you did w/ the shading on that 11:10 and 11:33 posts on 11/28. We lke that shading annd I would appreciate it if you can do one with that shading. Pink body/green accent (fade).

Can you do at least 3 or more color combos of the fonts - green/pink purple/green, pink/purple. I would like to see how the different colors look.
