Me again. This is one of our current logos, SURFQUEST SURFBOARDS, a beginner's surfboard. I would like to give it a little facelift and, given your immense talents, it should be a piece of cake. I've attached the current logo (also at www.surfquestboards.com). We'll be looking for someone to redesign the website in a month or two as well.

Anyway, I think I like the current wave logo we have - just not the font. I wanted to get some new ideas. I like the "Paint Splash" font style (I can't find an example yet). I also like SILVER more than the current white - something that makes us look modern & cutting edge, not generic. I want something that POPs out, is easily readable, and looks cool. Hope that's enough to start!!!

Thanks in advance,

Surferdude

How is this one?

Very nice. For simplicity's sake, can you use the same wave as we surrently have and just put a new font over it? We'll need to stay away from a blue font as most of the boards this will be on are navy blue. I like silver the most.

Not bad. I would like it to look a bit "cleaner" if that makes sense. The "S" should be a bit larger too.

Thanks.

The first one's not bad. I need the silver to be much lighter (less grey) and would like the font to be nore slanted (45 degree angle)

Thanks

Can we do an "S" like this one?....

Surferdude, would you like the "S" to be like the 'lightning bolt' or the word 'SWIFT'? All caps for SURFQUEST too?
Sincerely, Doug

I would like the "S" like the lightening bolt and the rest or the font to be simiral to the "S" but not quite so "extreme.

Tonya

Well, no lightning bolt here. I guess I'll go back and work more on the font.

DYNAGIRL

I love the last one - that looks great! Could I just see it w/a darker blue color for the edges of the font (although I like that blue)?. Could you try a couple variations of the "Q" - curious if we can do something "snazzy" with it.

Great Work!

G G - Nice job w/the last one. Can you do it in more of a silver color?

MOWLING,

Like the last one - good idea w/the "Q", The "S" is a bit too pointed on top. Can you use more of a silver coloring and dark blue edges on the font?

Thanks

here's the silver…added dark stroke on name to blend with wave. Are we on the same wave with this one? B)

A Couple of other changes if you can - we've had some last minute inspiration based upon your "reivention of the logo. We want ti use it for our most expensive, model - the Signature edition!

1) Please make the font letters more "staggered" leaning towards the right. It makes the name look like it's in motion!
2) Make the top of the "S" less pointed,
3))Use the same font for the small 's' as the big 'S.'
4) Add the word "Signature" under the lower left part of the wave using the "S" for surfquest as the "S" for Signature. It should be in a smaller font and is the model name. Not sure if it will work but let's give it a try!

Could I also just see a stand alone "S?"

EL KOOTCHO

Still like the brushed look too. I just want the font to be a silver (gradient?) color as this willl be for a more expensive model - I want the logo to look the part!

This logo is a 4-Color raster design.

EL KOOTCHO - Not bad. Problem is my partner is a bit "anal" so he might think it's too messy. We also need to stick to blue, silver and black as the font colors.

Maybe we should scrap the brush idea in favor of a cleaner yet unique font along the lines of DYNAGIRL and GIG's (9:02 am) designs. I still think we can work on a unique and stylish font. We want this to be for our higher end clientele so it can be cool and a little fancy - but it must be legible.

I like the "S" and the "Q" larger than the other letters and a staggered font that leans a bit towards the right - kind of a "moving" theme,

We're close but I would love to see a few more!

In response to your post you would like to make this font a little bit more unique and stylish. So I morphed this font to the point of cool, legible and a little fancy. We now got a new font in existence (maybe call it QUEST?!) <_< Let me know of any preferences in color or what not.

Surferdude...is there anything you would like me to change on my submission?

SURFERDUDE
12-03-2003, 11:19 AM
DYNAGIRL,

Let's go to a teal blue color on the edges rather than dark blue

Keep the font but give it a more "staggered" look leaning towards the right. It makes the name look like it's in motion!

2) Make the top of the "S" less pointed (shorten the top a bit - reminds me too much of a swordfish!)

3) Use the same font for the small 's' as the big 'S.'

4) Add the word "Signature" under the lower left part of the wave using the "S" for surfquest as the "S" for Signature. It should be in a smaller font and is the model name. Not sure if it will work but let's give it a try!

5) don't like the bgottom of the "Q." Maybe you can make it more like a "wave."

5) Could I also just see a stand alone "S?" We may put it on the other side of the board.

Need to finalize this one by tomorrow.

Thanks,
Surferdude

Revised:

Here it is, with "Signature" added:

Here's the S alone:

Dynagirl,

Looks great. Can you revert back to that original blue from your 1st post, take out the word " signature," and do 2 versions - 1 that says "surfboards" -lke you already have and one that says "softboards" in the same spot.

The only other change is that I would just like tp see more shadowing in the font as well as the "S" - more of a 3D effect.

Great Work!

Thanks.

The only blue in my first post was the dark blue in the big wave in the background and that has been the same in every version I've posted. So I wasn't sure what you meant by using the blue from my first post. Hopefully, you meant use the first blue border around the letters that I'd used, which is this:

Surfboards version:
<img src='http://www.frobo.com/graphic_work/surfquest/surfquest7.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

Softboards version:
<img src='http://www.frobo.com/graphic_work/surfquest/surfquest8.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

S alone version:

DYNAGIRL,

GREAT JOB! WE'RE ALMOST THERE. JUST A COUPLE THINGS -

1) Make the top of the "S" just a little shorter (just a little)
2) Make the bottom of the "Q" a little less thick). It's just a little to wide.
3) Can you do rhe shading on the stand alone "S" more like the Swift logo I posted? It's more of a 3D effect rather than the blue outline around the whole letter.
3) If there any other contrasting blues for the font that might look good, please post.

THANKS,
SURFERDUDE

Revisions! Little bit shorter S, narrower swoosh through the Q and a swift-style stand-alone S:

<img src='http://www.frobo.com/graphic_work/surfquest/surfquest10.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

<img src='http://www.frobo.com/graphic_work/surfquest/surfquest11.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

<img src='http://www.frobo.com/graphic_work/surfquest/surfquest12.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

I tried some other blues, but this one (or something similar to this one) really seems to work best as the text outline. It helps the text stand out, without getting lost in the darker blue of the background wave. The stand-alone S and maybe the little surfboard are the only things that I think would work okay in another color or alternate shade of blue. So if you're not satisfied with the lighter blue I've' been using, I can tinker with it a bit.

Dynagirl,

Looks great. I do like that lighter blue a lot. Just 3 more changes I would like to see: 1) try the darker blue for the outer ring of the "Oval" with the word "surfboards" "and "softboards." 2) Make the lower part of the Q just a tad thinner 3) Make the light blue in the stand alone "S" thicker - I would like it so stand out more

Thanks,

DISTURB REALITY - I do like yours but think we're going to go with Dynagirl's design = it will work best for this particular product line.
