I missed many email notifications for the past week or so. Sometimes I got it, sometimes I just don't. I am using yahoo mail and no problem with receiving othe emails. Is there any problem with the board inbuilt emailer function?
Any other has same problem?
Thanks!

A few times I've noticed email notifications not coming through but most of the time I get them. My guess is they are being gobbled up by Yahoo's spam filter. They may be going into the bulk email box or just not going through at all. If that's the case I think there's a way you can tell Yahho that it's not spam in your preferences. I'll see what I can find out at the support forums for our forum software.
Have you tried using a different address or is Yahoo the only one you use? You would change it by clicking "my controls" at the top of the forum, then "change email address" under the options heading on the bottom left of your control panel. You should also click email setting while your there to see if "Enable 'Email Notification' by default?" is checked. It probably is since you're getting some but not all.
Sorry :(

I believe it is either the software or your hosting company server. I checked yahoo bulk email folder, it is not there - some other spam emails.
Email notification by default is on.
I know hotmail has a lot of problem, but never got one with yahoo. Thanks!

Well I'm the hosting company so it must be the software :D I'll see what I can find out. Coincidentally, I didn't receive a notification of your reply to this thread  Weird.

I looked on the support forum for a solution and didn't find anything. I'll keep looking. Thanks for your patience.

Just found this...
If you are logged into your board, you won't receive an email notification.
In other words if you're here and reading the forums, the software won't send you an email because it assumes you'll see it :)
I pretty much always have a window open to DesignOutpost so visitors know at least one persons here. I hate to see a naked "active users list" :) There is something called a session. Eventually that session times out and I receive notifications then. It's currently set at 3600 seconds. If you haven't clicked on anything in that time period you receive an email notification, otherwise you don't.
This is what I do, and maybe it will help you. On the home page of the forum at the bottom called "Today's active topics" That shows me any new messages since my last visit. Alternatively you could click on "My Asssitant" on the top right of the forum and it will show you a link to new messages to threads you've started.
Hope this helps,
Palmer
