Hello David. Ok, you asked for it! :P
The concept itself is ok, it just lacks finesse. Also, the elements within the design don't allow the eye to settle very easily. A logo should, IMO, first attract the potential customer/client by shape and colour and then to the text.
Here, there is much 'visual conflict' both in shape and colour (and fonts too!). The 'swoosh' (an overdone style these days) is cut-off abruptly and that leads the eye away from your logo...
The "Design is a Feeling" phrase looks cramped and needs more space within the swoosh.
Sorry if that sounded harsh, it wasn't meant to be...just hopefully constructive! I'd like to see some revisions (Jeez, I'm sounding like a teacher!!! ) No, really - if you have the time and inclination. :)
Are you new to design? If so, I would think you have potential. Keep it up!

Hi.
I think the font chosen for `Triumph Design` is very unattractive. It doesn't match the swoosh or the eye watermark. Maybe with a better font you would have a little more luck.
Do you know http://www.dafont.com?

Sure I heard of it yeah...
I made some changes: http://www.triumph-design.com
Click here (http://213.84.84.88/dev/)if you want to see the whole layout of my website (still busy designing though), the header image will be randomized so the logo has to change colors every time too :) just keep refreshing.. I finished 6 layouts :)

trumph.. it looks good.. however - that tick is the exact same one I have on my old business cards.. clipart? Maybe customise your tick if it isn't... the other thing I think is that you might be better of with a spell checker and hiring a copy writer, than playing with what might seem to be fancy design elements... because if the message is not clear and professional no amount of pretty will cover it.
BUT overall, a good start and a good job

Hi Triumph.
I think your logo's a good start but I agree with some other comments that the font may not be quite right. Experiment a bit with some other typestyles. This is just my opinion but when I hear the word "triumph" I automatically associate a serif font with it. I envision the word in a bold Garamond or something. Also, for some reason, the colors maroon and gold pop into my head right away. Also, and I know maybe my brain is a little crazy, but I picture the logo of Victory Motorcycles. I guess because the words triumph and victory are close in definition. Check out http://www.victory-usa.com/victory/default.aspx for some ideas or inspiration. I don't know ANYTHING about motorcycles, but the logo just popped into my head. Hope some of this helps.

Ed
