I have a logo that has been designed for me but it seems more like an image than a logo. I like the design--it displays a prism through which a ray enters, and transforms into a sign of economic growth (it's supposed to be the growth line as it would appear on a growth diagram).
I have attached the image for you to see.
I would like to create a stylized version of this image so that it looks like a logo. I am looking for something that captures the idea (economic growth and business success by transforming hidden talent into high performance) and reflects he image, but at the same time is sharp, simple, distinctive. Thanks very much.
All my best, Linda Manning

Thanks for this. Still not stylized. I am actually quite happy with the colour, solid structure, and design of the image, so I don't want another image. I am looking for a stylized version--simple
Thanks.

Hi..
Are you looking for a stylized version or simplified version?
Any link/picture that you can give as a reference to better know your request?
Thanks!

Hi,
Is this more what you had in mind? This is kind of a simplified/stylized version of your graphic that would work well technically as a logo.
Let me know what you think.
Thank you,
Dave

I'm sorry I'm not explaining myself well. I'm not using the right words. Maybe something that is more abstract--I think I'm looking for simple lines that suggest a prism and transformation, with a result of economic growth. What I do is try to change manager attitudes about how to work with immigrants so that instead of treating them with bias, they value their talent and ability, and make sure that they are welcome in the organization. My tag line is Transforming Hidden Talent into High Performance. Does this help?

Hi Linda,
Thank you for your response.
I think you'll find that more designers participate if you'll fill out the logo project questionnaire (http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=7819). Just copy and paste the questions into your first post and answer them as best you can.
Also, please take a look at my last submission and try to explain what about it is not meeting your expectations. Also, perhaps you can point us to some logos that appeal to you stylistically so that we have some idea of where to begin.
Thank you,
Dave

Hello Linda,
I would like to present this as my idea for your stylized logo.
My thoughts were one beam coming in, and exiting with multiple-potential.
Please let me know your thoughts.
Respectfully,
Kimber

Ah yes, this is exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for. I like this very much. I understand (and like) the exiting multiple lines. That's the right idea. What I also want though is for the exiting line to represent economic growth. The idea is that while there may be an early period of adjustment (so there might be a rise, then a slight dip, the end result will be surging economic growth, depicted by the arrow.
The multiple lines that you did are appealing, but can be interpreted as some good outcomes and some bad--I want to suggest that the outcomes will be very positive. I hope this makes sense. All my best, Linda

Hi Kinber, just another quick note--the rounded rectangle in the back--how would it work to make it more rectangle and making it longer on the right side to allow the exiting economic growth ray appear to sit within it? I don't know it will ruin it--I really like your layout--but it's just a thought.

Hi David, thanks for taking this so seriously. It's very difficult to explain I guess--but the last one was too close to the original, which makes the original preferred because I really do like the original image. I think I'm looking for something that creates the impression of a solid form, transformation, with economic growth, but without laying it all out for the viewer.
I probably should have completed the questionnaire--but I didn't offer enough money (because I've just paid a substantial amount for the original image) to ask someone to try to generate a new logo. I don't want anyone to work too hard on this. It's one of those nice to haves and not really a need to have. And of course if I can find designers I can work with, that would be great because if I'm successful, there'll be lots more to do!
All my best, Linda

Hello Linda,
Based on your feedback, this is what I've come up with - hopefully I've got it, or at least gotten darn close. :)
Please let me know.

Hi Kimber, sorry for the delay--traveling. You are very close. The arrows are not very appealing. The reason is that the idea is that the prism represents transformation resulting in business performance improvement. There might be a small dip when there is a change, but the message should be that there will be strong performance improvement with the change. With such large fluctuations as there are in this image, no one will want to change anything :)
So you can see that it is very close--and if we can get the arrows to align with the intended message, I think this will be it. I really liked your original images--the only thing is they don't create the impression of business performance improvement. Thanks. Linda

Hi Linda,
Thankyou for your feedback - I see how it sort of looks a little volatile, and I think I understand now what you want in the arrows.
I'll make that change, and repost.

Hello Linda, I hope these arrows more clearly illustrate and initial "dip" while things get adjusted, then a soaring success. Again, I've used the 3-arrow idea of branching out and being successful.
Please let me know your thoughts.

Hi Kimber,
Thank you for taking this request so seriously. It's a small payment, I know, but hopefully it will add to your Christmas cheer. Good designers are hard to find.

Thankyou Linda,
I'm glad that I was able to be helpful - it's not always about the money - although I won't lie, it does help - it's the challenge :)
I'll prepare your files tonight, and PM you with the download instructions.

Hi Kimber,
I hope you had a great Christmas and will have a great New Years. I am sorry--I don't know what PM means so I haven't received anything with a link. Can you explain? Sorry--it's probably very simple, but i have to ask. I will send a note to Palmer directly as soon as I receive them.
all my best, Linda

Hi Linda,
PM Is Private Message - sorry about that.
I think this link may take you there: http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/private.php
Basically, I have sent you a site email that you would retrieve by clicking on the "Private Meesage" link near the top of the page, on the right-hand side. It's in the box that says "Welcome lmanning" and your last login date, etc.
I'll try to post a screenshot to show you where it is.
Typically, when you have a PM waiting, you should get a pop up message when you login - unless of course, your browser blocks pop ups.
I'll be right back.

Here'a a screenshot of the top right-hand side of the page.
Your login name would appear instead of mine ;)
The Private Message link is there.
As designers, we're not permittted to converse with clients via PM while their project is in motion, but once a design has been chosen, it's a convenient way to communicate private information - like your download link.
If there's anything else, please let me know.
