Hello all
I'm after a script (perl/cgi) similar to the one on DO's front page, I want it to pick up the headings from the forum, for example on the front page of the site it will display the headings of any posts in the Announcement forum you click on the heading to go to that post.
So yeh just like the one here at DO, this is a personal project for a friend so if possible it will be free. I have tried Hotscripts but not sure what I'm looking for.
Cheers if you can help.

No I think that would simply be a link to view recent posts. I'll look around.

Thanks again
I shall download a few and have a play
The aim was to avoid posting news/updates on the main web site and then in the forum.

The one on our home page was custom made by a programmer after posting the project at Programming Outpost (http://www.programmingoutpost.com/). It cost $30.

He's redoing the whole operation of P.O. for me. Lots of custom hacks to the forum. It should be pretty cool when it's all done.

Yes Matt, lives in the next town from me.
I see at PO you are going to move it over to the way its works here, should look good. How's AO these day's has that taken off the ground yet or is it still in it's early stages?

P.O. is going to take place on the forums but it won't be a contest type format such as here. There will be a $10 fee to post a project and then the programmers will place their bids as to how much they will charge to complete it.
What I'm trying to do is do away with all the Administrative duties that bog me down with D.O. It will all be automated and the payment between the programmer and client will be handled by the 2 of them, not me.
How's AO these day's has that taken off the ground yet or is it still in it's early stages?
It's a dud. :(

Sounds good for PO, shame about AO. I do know someone who you could sigh up for voice overs, I haven't checked to see if you have that catagory.

If you decide to move the PHPBB board to IB, there are tons of hacks that allow you to post the forum stuff elsewhere on a site, as well as allow people to log in/out sign up from anywhere too.
