What text should be included in the main part of the logo?
Urban Safari Photography

What type of product or service do you offer?
Wedding, engagement and portrait photography.

How long have you been in business?
2 years.

What do you hope to accomplish with your new identity?
For others to see me as a professional, to become a well-known brand in the Denver area

What are your long term goals?
To build a successful photography business with a few of my friends.

When is the deadline for final entries before choosing a designer?
March 10th.

Audience Profile:
Please describe your existing audience
Low-range (from the budget perspective) wedding clients, high school juniors/seniors

Who would you like to add to your audience?
Destination weddings, mid- to high-range wedding clients, mountain weddings

Perception/Tone/Guidelines:
What type of logo would you like?
Something that reflects our name; in other words, something urban/edgy/modern/contemporary. Nothing soft or too floofy (I just made that word up).

Do you have any colors in mind for your logo? (if so, why?)
Probably just blacks and greys.

Do you have any specific images or icons in mind that you would definitely like to see incorporated into your logo?
Nope!

Communication Strategy:
What attributes would you like your logo to reflect about your business?
Professionalism, crisp, new, edgy, modern, contemporary.

What is your tagline or slogan?
n/a

What is the overall message you are trying to convey to your target audience?
Professionalism, attention to detail, excellent customer service, classic photography.

Where will your new logo be used?
Watermarks on photos, business cards, letterhead, and invoices.

Competitive Positioning:
Who are your competitors and what do you think about their logos?

List competitive URLs if possible
http://www.2sistersphoto.com/ *Way too feminine.
http://www.photoelementstudio.com/ *Not professional enough.
http://www.cherylungarweddings.com/#/galleries/wedding/1/ *I like the simplicity of this one.
http://chrishumphreys.com/ *Not edgy enough.
http://jonischrantz.com/ *I kind of like this font.

What sets you apart from your competitors?
I am a very flexible photographer that is more in this business to appease my own craving for creativity and to help my clients as opposed to being in this business to make money. I stick to simple editing techniques and avoid fad-like editing options that will go out of style rather quickly.

Hello! Thank you for posting a submission to my logo request. I was wondering: do you have any edgier fonts? I use Orator Std on my wedding contracts that I give to my clients, so I would love something akin to that. Also, I really only need a logo with just the type with no other images (unless it's a very subtle addition to the type). Thank you!

Thank you everyone!

@nhr: Could I see what the second design looks like without the diamond?

@OffbeatDesign: Could I see your first one in a different font that's a little edgier, more modern/crisp? I also like the spacing in the "Urban Safari" in v4 but am not sold on the font. The "photography" underneath it is great though.

@glyphica: Could I see v1 with either all caps in one and all lowercase in another?

Thank you all again so much for your help!

I wasn't sure which one you were referring to as v4, as I only submitted 3 versions. Here is my version 4 :)

Thank you all again for your submissions!

@glyphica: I am liking v6 the best so far out of your work. However, I think something is missing from it...would you be able to incorporate maybe some lines/boxes into it?

@OffbeatDesign: I am liking v7 the best so far out of your work. Could you also add something to it, something linear?

@nhr: Please see above for version 3.1 :)

@im3d: Do you have an edgier/more modern-looking font?

Thank you to everyone!

A message was sent via private message that Carol (Taldo) was selected as the winner...
Carol,

You win the design contest. I don't have time for this anymore. Please accept my apologies. You may take the prize money. I do not need any logo design files. Thank you.

Ashley Kidder

Apparently the client doesn't have the time to dedicate to choosing her branding. I don't know any more details. But I do have proof that the message was sent and it was in fact sent by the client.

Thank you to all the designers that made the effort to enter this project. I appreciate your time and talents.
