(Admin code added by Palmer - V399131N)

I'm in the process of developing a website called SalesAppliance.com.

SalesAppliance.com will be an on-line service to help sales people to manage the selling process, i.e. contacts, opportunities, forecasts etc. Very similar to http://www.salesforce.com and http://www.upshot.com. Generally referred to in the industry as sales force automation.

The service will be deployed on a server which either I will host or the client can host at their own site. This will effectively be an appliance and hence the name SalesAppliance.com. This is what makes me different from the competition and ideally I would like this reflected in the logo, perhaps with a plug - socket ?

The logo will have to work on all media from business cards with limited colours to brochures and of course the web-site.

Your entry into the competition means that you agree to hand other all the property rights to your work so I can use, re-sell and modify the logo at my discretion indefinately.

I will run the contest for 14 days and the prize is $75.

Any questions post them here or contact me on IanPurton@totalise.co.uk

Thank you

Ian Purton

Here's something unique and very brandable. Would fit in easily with all media from web sites to business cards.

Sparkie, thanks for contributing.

I'd like to see the SalesAppliance.com all on one line and perhaps some samples of different colours ?

cheers

i-design,

I really like both of these, on the web-site I would probably want them to be more colourful. could you add some colour and show me how they would look ?

Thanks

Here's a playful idea that goes with a different take on 'appliance'. I'll just start with the b/w one to get your first impressions. A tagline something like "All the right tools to turn your contacts into cash" or something. I'm not the best with words!

Beetle,

This is a great concept and works well, I'm a uk company so would it be possible to see the design with pound signs £ instead of dollars ? I think it looks great in balck and white as it is.

j-design

With the image that has a lead flowing over the text, could this maybe turn into a graph of sales, i.e. the stereotype of sales going through the roof ?

Thanks

Ok, great! :D

Here it is with the pound sign

<img src='http://www.peterbailey.net/clients/do/sa/logo2.gif[/img]

I also added a slight angle to the people & money to give a subtle sense of movement.

I had some toaster ideas that would have been fun but a little weird, I think

beetle,

It looks great, could we play with the appliance in the middle a little bit perhaps replace it with something representing the organisation ?

wwwzone

The text looks a little fuzzy on my machine, any ideas ?

j-design & wwwzone

I've shown the plug concept to other people and they don't really get it, can we perhaps try another design that focuses on the sales angle ?

Thanks I really appreciate the effort that is going into this.

ian...

I've beent thinking about it for a couple days and I'm at a loss towards what I could replace my "washing-machine-like" appliance with. I'd be happy to entertain any suggestions, but I was really going for a metaphorical approach, and convey the idea of an appliance doing the work.

Beetle,

How about replacing the appliance illustration with the words 'salesappliance.com' ?

you mean with the people and money on opposite sides of it?

Text-example...

(people)salesappliance.com(money)

?? I'm not really following you here, I don't think...

Ian...

I'm not sure that will work. The idea is to metamorphosize the business into a physical appliance of some sort. Putting the people and the money around the text can't survive w/o the tagline attached, which is a no-no for a logo. With the image there, the concept of the meaning and metaphor can still be seen, even in the absence of any supporting tagline or text.

I'm open for suggestions about changing the appliance (and I'll try something different myself) but removing the appliance image negates the effectiveness of the concept.
