I’ve already got a logo and mascot for this website, just need a good template now :) I started on one, but it just looks too boring, so I thought I would let you lot try.

Prize: $125

Website Name: Shopping Navigator - http://www.shoppingnavigator.co.uk/

Deadline: I’ll give it a few weeks, so around 5th March ish, if you need more time, should hopefully be able to arrange that.

What I want:

If you could use the same logo and mascot from the above site, that’s the only thing you really need to keep. I’ll leave the rest up to you. If you could leave a space for a newsletter box too, that would be good.

Most of the links that are there I would like to stay, although I’ll let you decide how you want to arrange them.

As I said before, the site there at the moment looks too boring, so I want something more fun, but that still gives a professional look.

Other stuff:

I want the main content area white, I like curves.

I know its not too much to go on, but I don’t really have any specific idea of what I want…just when someone sees the site, I want them to think “wow” :)

Percept - Its a good start, but I dont really like the yellow/blue, they seem out of place with the rest of the design. I like the left-hand column with the links and newsletter box though. Maybe try some different colours?

Hi,

Xterior – I like the top header, stands out and looks good. I’d prefer it if the navigation links were on the left side, with the main text being in the centre/right. Again I think the colours are a little boring – black/white, doesn’t seem that fun.

EVERYONE - If you feel restricted by using the same logo/mascot, feel free to make your own logo (and mascot if you can), and use them with any design you have in mind. I do like the current logo/mascot, but I don’t want you feeling the need to use greys, blacks, reds just to fit in with the logo/mascot.

Below are some sites that I like the look of, it might help give a better idea of what I want/like (hopefully).

http://www.gadgetshop.co.uk - quite like the header on that with those images.

Hi - I have a questions about your site.

At the top you have 4 sections - Articles, Men, Women and Children. I was wondering if by clicking on these sections it takes me to an area where, when I click on the navigation on the left it will only relate to children for example? Or is the navigation on the left not related to these 4 sections?

Demex – I do like that, looks more brighter/fun. I don’t think the mascot should be in the header, I can just keep him in the content area bit. I’m not sure about the logo, it looks alittle out of place I don’t know if making it bigger might help, or if you have time, making a different one. For the links at the side, I’d prefer it if they were just in one big list, although that was a nice idea. Also for the newsletter box, would you be able to do something similar to what you did with the campfunny design? (I’ll be using one of those Topica boxes, so I’ll just need a box to put the code in).

Also could you just copy some of the content from the mainpage of the current site over, just to give me a better idea of what it would look like?

I have made some changes to the design.

I like the current logo you have but i have changed the colour of the arrow to suit the design.

Also: I can provide you with the 4 different coloured boxes for the right hand side. If you have particular headings you would like, let me know. I will also supply you with the PSD file for each box so you can make changes to headings or create new ones.
You will be able to fit more information in these boxes as the middle area will expand vertically to fit content.

If you choose this design I will transfer it into html/CSS.

Hi all,

Percept – Those colours go better together and the design looks good. But what I meant by my last reply was that I wanted it to be more fun, so brighter colours.

Marina – The design looks good, although I would probably want another brighter colour in to liven things up. Only thing I’m not too sure on is the font for the “bookmark, faq” etc (maybe try something bolder) and the “articles, men, women” etc links don’t seem to stand out as much. Other than that its good.

Demex – Looks good. Only thing is the “children” box text isn’t that visible with that colour as the background. Also I’m not sure about having pink as the background to the navigation links. But that’s just minor stuff, other than that looks good.

I think that last submission is perfect, my only recommendation would be changing the colors in the logo to fit the concept you have going.

I know how a colour you don't like can really make you look at a site and go hmmm.. just not right - so i have made some modifications to the colours. Again these colours can easliy be changed. : )

Hi,

Hush - Design looks good, just I'm not too sure on that top header, I dont like it much. Also the content area seems to crowded. I do like the side navigation links and the section links though. The small black header with the shopping bag looks good too.


Demex - That orange looks much better. For the left navigation box, I was thinking of having a different colour to those in the top section boxes (articles, men, women, children).

That looks better for both templates :) Although I think the current hot offers section should be in a box too Huhh. Demex I just noticed you dont have a space for the hot offers bit yet, could you just make a box under the websites of the month box please. Its just going to have some text links in.
