Hi,
I have made modifications you've requested. Not sure how geeky guy is looking so I have made draft of this one ( he reminds me someone on DO :P ) . If that's ok I will re-draw him (he needs some more work).
Thanks and good luck to all !

Hehe, nice one Nat.
I think that's everyone except Zoe. I'll wait a little for her and then give comments.
Hi Guys,
I was just looking at these designs and I am not sure if I can compete with the little icons! I am hopeless at creating them on my own.
If you are still considering purchasing icons off Nat after choosing a design (that would be if you didn't choose Nat's design) like you said in one of your earlier posts - then I will be happy to make some new changes. :)
Otherwise I should probably bomb out...

Actually I was thinking of having Annia design the icons for the new site not Nat. Of course if Nat's design is chosen I will just use hers since I like them. It's up to you whether to give it a shot or not. I know you're busy. Nothing wrong with bowing out gracefully, I agree this is a pretty tough competition to win.

It's closed to new entries. It ends when I say it does :D
Ok so I have had a think about it and as much as I would like a shot at winning, I have decided that I will "gracefully bow out" :)
Good luck everyone - very tough comp!

Ok, thanks Zoe. I know someone who wants to buy your design. I'll let him know it's available. I really do appreciate your giving it a shot. I'm still a big fan :)

I think they can be added to the Marketplace (http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/?showforum=22) area of the site; those who are interested in doing so.

If I wasn't trying to do everything myself I would have had more time to work on your site. Whoever wins this comp is going to have a great addition to their portfolio!!!

Ok, I guess I've debated with myself long enough.
I'm torn between the remaining 4. I like a lot of each one of them. I keep going back to my thoughts on exactly what I'm going for with the new site and who I want it to appeal to. I think if I went through this entire thread and picked out every comment about what I'm looking for, there is 1 design that pretty much had every one of them.
I want to thank everyone who entered, you really put everything into this. It means a lot how much effort you put forth on our new look. So without further ado, I would like to announce that the designer who will be responsible for giving our tired looking site a much needed facelift for our new direction is...
Nathalie Poitiers (aka Marengo)

Ok, revision time for me and Nat. All others mind your own business :D
For reference, here is the entry I'll be referring to...
http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/upload...-1075225220.jpg (http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/uploads/post-6-1075225220.jpg)
I'll need you to provide the html as well as the .psd when we reach the final, I hope that's ok.
Here's what I need changed. And here is crude mock-up to help...
http://www.yourwebbuddy.com/templates/do/1.jpg
-Logo: Let's go with the original colors in Raja's design. I like the red and blue. Let's also go with his original layout of the logo he designed also. The horizontal orientation of the logo isn't fitting in your template.
-Top Icons: Lets move those up and center the text like I did for Audio Outpost You can use the same font and colors that you did for the other icons. All the icons at the top are great but if it is easy to remove the small goatee beard in the programming guy I think he would look more geeky.
-Remove "Graphic designers compete for your business". I'm assuming that will be html text so I'll make up a new slogan in the final.
-We're not calling them "contests" in the new site so wherever it says contests replace with projects. ie Recent Contests to Recent Projects
-Instead of "How to start" let's go with something else. Any ideas? Maybe "Start Here" or "Instructions" or "Helpful Guide"
-"Open your contest" needs to be "Start your project"
That's all for now. Gotta eat :chef:

all modifications you asked have been made.

Ok, I just have 3 more changes and then that should be it.
-The logo needs to move to the left so it lines up with the left column
-The green arrows on the left need to match one of the colors in the logo, either red or blue whatever looks best.
-Same thing for the search and log in and view button
The other details I can change with the style sheet like the heading color being dark blue like the logo.
I would like to see the final mock up before having you convert it to html so just upload it and I'll check it out.
Thanks Nat :flowers:
