;) Hello all you talented designers:
I have enjoy reading the forums and all the ideas that you have sketch for other less talented people like me. I am in the process of creating of website that sells apparel and handbags ranging from chic& trendy(James Perse, Anna Sui, Miss Sixty) to very hiend (such as Gucci, Burberry, Balenciaga) wear. The target groups are women's fashionist. I am looking for a logo to use on my website and for business, flyers, etc.
1.Colors &Style: very open but no pink (even though the primary target are ladies. I need something unique and that emulate own one's beauty/ sophistication/ trendiness.
2.Website url: byostyle.com (byo stands for "Bring Your Own")

If possible, can you incorporate the "Bring Your Own" behind the bold BYOSTYLE fonts?
3.Symbol: open to suggestions (maybe a gal wearing a trendy dress and hi heels holding a handbag

[Admin edit] Disregard the info below. Contest is for logo only[/edit]
4.For business cards:
- slogan: any word/catchy phrase 2-6 words are great
-full colour double sided cards
I hope you can help me out and please ask me any other information you need. I desperately need this soon.
The deadline is January 10th,2004. :help:

Is this contest for a logo only or are your looking for both logo and business card for $65?

I'm pretty new here too, but from what I've seen, folks generally offer between $65 to $150 for just the logo design. You may want to message Palmer. He may be able to help you come to an agreeable prize offering.

Thank you, :D

Actually they tend to be 2 separate contests. 1 for the logo and one for the business card or just one for the logo and then you can negotiate with the winning designer to make a business card layout.

I think you are heading at the right direction! Looks promising. I definitely like how the pic' flows with the name of the website via the flower pic'. Here are some suggestions of modification:

a. Can you try with some other more bolder fonts(so I can look at) something of similar to

http://eluxury.com
http://www.daszign.com

-or if softer feminine fonts then something like:

http://www.bellaregalo.com
or crystal looking text (I.e. http://www.axangec.com/tutorial/ps/crystal.php)

I kind of like your fonts but just trying to see if other fonts might be more of a catch.

b.Also, can you draw the girl in longer hair so I can compare the difference of the two?

c. The "bring your own" somehow seems ambiguous and does not point out clearly what the "BYO" part stands for. Can you perhaps try to make the "bring your own" behind the BYO like a shadow text in background.

Thanks!

I would like to emphasize that I will need 100% exclusive copyrights to the logo once I select the winner of this contest. Thanks!

Hello Fabian:

Thank you for your submission. The fonts don't look bold/ strong enough, maybe if you can make the "ring, our, tyle" part more subtle. Or perhaps spell out the whole part" Bring your Own" behind the whole name "BYOSTYLE". The picture does not seem clear enuf; I can only make out the part of the handbag.
Thanks!

To Piece of mind:

All your revisions look great. So hard to choose now; I need to try out a couple of other ideas:
1. Can you please draw the same girl in long hair (B version) but with the (C version)
fonts? <I assign the A version as the original version, B version was the gal with the long hair and all capitalize fonts), C version with no gal but capitalize "BYO" fonts with cursive "Style">.
2. Same as above except make the vertical fonts ("Bring Your Own") match the "Style" horizontal fonts.

I hope my suggestions are clear. I look forward to your further work.

Xuan

Hi Piece of Mind:

I think we are getting close. Can you try to add the flower above the cursive Style (like in th original design) in logo 1? And another same design as logo 1 but with the "Bring Your Own" not vertical but horizontally beneathe BYO with the matching cursive fonts as "Style". Thank you so much!

Congratulations to [B]piece_of_mind for the dedicated work/great revisions!

To piece_of_mind: I am still debating between the two logos you design for the final cut. <_< (Logo 1 and Logo B which is the second submission for the contest). Please PM to me regarding any of your own opinions about final revisions. I plan to use the logo for print work (business cards), the web, and promotional so I need suggesions about file formats;

I thoroughly enjoyed posting on DO and will definitely return for more expertise help in the future. ;)
