Good effort Palmer! It looks a little more like laugh-in, flower power days, which were after the TV Dance Party era. The page is going to open up to Chubby Checker announcing: "Get up! Its Pony Time!" Also, Gary US Bonds and "Quarter to Three." This was before the Beatles, and definitely before the OJays. TV Dance Parties were often local versions of Bandstand in the late fifties, early sixties (with top twenty billboard prominent and a **** Clark look-alike) with the familiar feel of a local soda fountain (in fact, this was sometimes a card-board cut-out used as a set design). I can't wait to see your next go at this :) Judy

Ok, I see. I needed to go a little further back in time :) I'll try to post an update soon. Are you set on your deadline? We might need an extension, is that possible?

Hi Palmer,
Yes, I will consider an extension  Judy
Huhhso:
Great nostalgic feel with the muted tones-The mike is a nice touch, as is the applause sign. Women, however, had no real job behind the scenes back then (except making the coffee): How about a guy with horn-rimmed glasses? I like the feature of "Host of the 2004 KPIX Dance Party Reunion," because that's what started this whole thing. I think TV Dance Party is better as three words. Also check your spelling for applause :) Judy
Markbeaudy:
Love your colors and dynamic design-I may not be able to get away with the use of **** Clark on the cover of TV Guide-but nice idea. Same goes for brylcreem. For the "Dances" icon, which looks more like an event, try using "Dance Moves," to better describe a link to the many dance routines invented for the TV shows.

Really fantastic stuff this early in the game! :) Judy

You certainly don't have to if you don't want to. I can work faster. If you need it revised by the 13th, I can do that. I'll work on it over the weekend. Thanks for your patience.

Hey Designers: :o
Looking at the navigation buttons, I realized I overlooked the major point here: as a portal for the local TV Dance Party Shows across the nation-a primary navigation button should be for Local TV Stations-or "Local Affiliates." KPIX-**** Stewart Dance Party-(originating from San Francisco) is going to be the first local link-with its own webpage. Also, eliminating the calendar button is probably a good idea because its somewhat redundant to the "events" button.
Palmer:
I am, indeed, working on a deadline, so thanks for your extra efforts. :)

Hi Judy, here's the changes you requested. :)

Hi Markbeaudry: Ingenious way to illustrate the "Dances" feature ;) Minor adjustment: The pony, the stroll, the bristol stomp all fit within the same period better than the shimmy or the monkey do.
Regarding the "time to Grease up," that was pretty much a fifties thing and, at any rate, those John Travolta types would never had made it on the show, and usually didn't know how to dance anyway. The image for the dancers on TV was pretty squeeky clean-even though the music and dances were far often far from it.
How about substituting "Get up, Its Pony Time"? That's going to be the opening song too.
One last thing (I swear): is there any way to get an upcoming event as a prominent feature-either as a flashing sign or running banner? I have to hit the ground running by promoting the KPIX Dance Party Reunion in 2004, and they're going to want to be more visible for me to get their cooperation with this website: I.e., these are their photos I'm using for the template.
Thanks,
You're doing a fantastic job! Judy

I apologize, I will not be able to make a revision. I'll be happy to make any if chosen as the winner but mine looks so lame compared to the others, I don't really think that's likely :D Great job Mark and Waila

Hi Mark,
That's a terrific animation-only one change: instead of "upcoming events" put the actual event: "2004 KPIX Dance Party Reunion" which I understand I will need to revise periodically with new events as they arise.
Hi Waila: Thanks for the revision. The very thin tie on the guy works, but I think the glasses are more modern than those worn waaay back then. Still, I love the placement of the icons. This is going to be a tough decision.
Keep em coming :)
Here it is in the layout...
and here it is on its own...
