Ambriel Consulting Ltd
Ambriel Consulting Ltd is my vehicle for offering freelance services in software, covering technical leadership, architecture, writing and development. You can find out more by visiting Ambriel Consulting on the web (http://ambrielconsulting.com).
I'm looking for a crisp, elegant design, possibly curvaceous. I do not currently have a logo, so I would appreciate ideas. $200 is offered.
How I chose the name
Now, I'm not really into this stuff, but Ambriel is apparently the angel of communication and coincidentally, the guardian angel for those of us born around June. Mostly it's a name loosely associatied with what I do: make systems talk. And, of course, it conveniently begins with the letter A, the UK limited company was available, and so were the domains ...
Do
Please provide designs which use: Blues and greens (etc) rather than reds (unless you are sure...)</li> A valid external CSS stylesheet if possible</li> PNG over GIF if possible</li>Don't
Please do not: Use Flash or Java</li> Put text in images other than in the logo</li> Use browser-specific features (I'll be using Mozilla/Galeon and Safari)</li>Closing date
I would like to close the competition on or around 1 Mar at the latest.
Thanks for your efforts :-)

There will be a limited response if strict xhtml is required. We are able to outsource the coding to make it fit your requirement, but there is a fee of around $50. Let me know if you would like to continue with the project or receive a refund.
Thanks

Thanks for the advice - I'll drop the requirement. I should be able to amend any submission to XHTML myself.

Great, I think you will have quite a few to choose from for this project.
Thanks :)

Hello
Just a polite point about the logo.
Many here will agree that web designers aren't necessarily all graphic designers and will be incapable of doing alogo or at least not inclined to do one. The same is true in reverse; most logo designers would shudder at the thought of putting together a professional website, such is the quality here. I would! :lol2:
You may wish to consider holding a separate contest for each...that way you will get a more - focused service for each element of your project! :)
The choice is yours of course but, just a thought... B)

Thanks Eagle, but I would rather press on with one contest. As we have a completely fresh start, I would like to see what ideas people have to produce a cohesive whole.
BTW: love your work on eagleimagery.co.uk!

Don't let him worry you. Those logo designers sheesh! Some egos! :lol2:

Thanks Mark
I have reflected on your submission for a couple of days because I do like the design, but it is a little too cute right now. ;)
The colours are pleasant and the "A" logo is ok. The icons, especially the smiley, would have to change. I don't like the image of the workstation; it's too cluttered and the message it conveys is unclear.
Heres a simple and clean one from me :-
Here is an entry from me.
Looking forward to your feedback
/Anne

Could I ask for a few changes please?
Could Mark remove the photo and change the services smiley to something else?
Can we swap the floppy disk icon for a hammer?
I like 1on1's design too. Any chance of a simple logo?
Could Anne please show me the template without the laptop?
Any other submissions by Wednesday please.
Thanks for taking part.

Thanks everyone - much appreciated.
I like all three very much and I am hard pressed to choose: I would like to declare Martin (1on1) the winner
Thanks for taking part. I'll contact Martin shortly with a private message.
Thanks Steve.
I have just sent the files over.
I think this can be closed now :)

Yes. Thanks everyone.
I have refactored the template to XHTML through a content management system using the Perl-based Template Toolkit. I'll be adding content over the next week or so, then the site will be available (http://www.ambrielconsulting.com/).
