logo for outback designs a fence and lawn company

I would like a log for my business. Busniess work includes lawncare, landscaping, and fences. I will be using the logo for screen printing t-shirts, bus. cards and on truck. What I have pictured is a kangaroo pushing a reel mower with a pickett fence in background. Would also like to see some ideas with name and number included. These are just my thinking. Throw at me what ever you all come up with too. Contest will end Jan 30, 2004. $75 prize. Thanks.

I chosse Outback designs Just by throwing different names around. Did not want something everyone else used. Ex. cut above. Here is also break down of word and how it relates. Out = meaning outside where lawn work is done. Back = Is backyard where fences are put up. Designs = Landscaping. That is how it fits in business. Since it is outback I thought The kangaroo pushing a reel mower would catch an eye. With pickett fence in background to put it together.

kangaroos & picket fences.. don't exactly co-exist - so.. next question would be - what type of logo would you like - comic? ( which could fit above ) or..... ideas?

Yes, a comic kangaroo and mower is good with the fence. I am open to any other ideas as well. That was just my idea to get ball rolling.

Hi Outback,
I have an idea for your contest but I don't think I am a good enough artist to pull off the kangaroo.
If any other designers like the idea, please feel free to take it and run.
A picket fence in the background with the kangaroo and the mower in the foreground. The kangaroo would be "mowing" the top of the "OUT" (maybe with grass flying) with the "BACK" standing a bit higher and designs under.
Just an idea.

Just a quick question and comment.

I see you are from Kentucky,do you have kangaroos there ?.

The reason I ask this is that as soon as most people see a kangaroo in a logo they will more than likely think of Australia.Just an observation,in order for us to help you get the logo design more suited to your company.

That been said im working on a design revolving around the mower and fence idea you put forward.Show you soon.

On the three set of designs, I was wondering if you could take the black outline off around the logo. Leaving the fence and kangaroo in place. Fence is on outside of kanaroo. Hope I explained what I am wanting to try. Thx. Kevin

The phone number here is only slightly larger than in the previous, but I used a thicker font (matches the name) so it stands out more. This is really as large as I can make the phone number in this particular design (or I could move the number to below the oval and make it as large as you want).

Kevin here is a revision. Regarding the phone number I would recommend not making it any larger...I understand that you want it to be seen...I think the size I have it will be effective. The size and color + balance of your logo will pull attention first and then your phone #...if you would like any more revisions let me know.
