Children's Ministries Logo - $100 Prize

Here's the deal. I am looking to get a logo for our Children's Ministries here at Tates Creek Christian Church. The name (or potential name) is UpTown KIDS. I had originally designed the "T" in uptown to be a cross. In addition, I would like to have the skyline of Lexington, KY in the logo somewhere.

Keep in mind this is a logo for a children's ministry, so the skyline should be a little cartoony, (I just want it to be recognizable). I've included a couple links to show you how we are decorating the children's area, another children's logo with a skyline in it, and a link to the skyline in Lexington.

By the way, the two taller buildings in the skyline (in case you can't see what's on them). The blue building is the 5/3 Bank Building, and the shorter tan one is the Central Bank. (It just has a "C" on it).

I know this is a lot in the initial post, but hopefully since I know what I want it will be a little easier for you all to design something I like.

First off, let me tell you that this is an awesome design. At the moment the only thing I would want you to change is to take the church name and those dots off the bottom. Everything that we put this logo on will already have the church name on it (or will be assumed). Other than that, let me think about it for a day or so and then I will get back to you with some possible changes. Otherwise, awesome job!!

Ok, here are a few suggestions. By the way, the quality of all your responses way exceed anything I had expected. Awesome job guys!!

Beatz: I think your concept is awesome. Can you play around with the colors some. Add some black shadows or outlines. THe logo seems a little too tropical. Also, could you use a few different fonts for me. Possibly something that is a little more cartoony or kid like.

Ejlain: Could you use othe colors. I like the design, but I am not sure about the red, gold and blue. The room this logo is going to be used for is going to be very brightly colored. I would like the logo to reflect some of these colors as well. (Bright greens, orange, purples, reds, yellow...). Also, the cross seems a little rigid. I would like the cross to fit in to the picture and be a little more kid oriented.

Mowling: I really like the colors and the buildings. Could you use a different font for the "UpTown" part. With the circle and the white outlining, that seems reminiscent of a diner sign. I'm sure that a different font would change that look.
