Don't let all this intimidate you I'm just having a problem conveying the fact that this logo needs to reach out and GRAB you to many so the description is real lengthy.

NAME OF EVENT:
Thunderbird Motorcycle Roundup

LOGO USE:
1. This logo is meant to be the official logo our new event, the Thunderbird Motorcycle Roundup.

2. The finished logo will be used for pins, patches, web site, t shirts and all printed materials and will require the addition of text on a version that has ROUNDUP as the predominate word on that version, if not the only word used

BUSINESS USED FOR:
The Roundup is a new concept in motorcycle rallies, the image we want to convey is the old west meeting the new west, in a powerful presentation that appeals to the motorcycle community.

LOG COLORS AND FEEL:
The Logo should be powerful and appeal to the motorcycle enthusiast the overall “feel” of the logo color scheme is best represented in the attachment where the arrow and the word colors are shown. This is NOT the logo we are wanting by any means as it is a trademarked image and is included only to show an example for COLOR.

OUR LOGO VISION:
We have the logo pictured as a bull “morphing” into a motorcycle.

Bull Particulars:
VERY muscular
Imposing
Facing you as if ready to charge
Black longhorn bull
Both feet planted on the ground and looking directly at you
Puffs of fire, smoke or steam rolling from his nostrils

Bike Particulars:
Not associated with any obvious manufacturer when you view it
Long exaggerated pipes
Fire coming out of the pipes
Smoke rolling from under the back tire

EXAMPLES WE WORKED UP or had submitted in line art :
PLEASE SEE THE EXAMPLES WE WORKED UP (http://www.gothunderbird.com/images/logoworkup.jpg)AND NOTES ON SAME - THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!!

IT is important to note that we need this done in vector format for many of the uses we need the logo for and will expect the final winner to provide the images in several formats and since the designers we're working with haven't come up with anything in the deadline period we need this FAST

I'm game... it sounds like it might be up my alley.
Now, this may be forward, but if my design were chosen, what would be the chances of getting my grubby little mitts on a patch with the logo on it or a Tshirt? ;)

Anyways... maybe I ought to come up with a design first.

Below is an illustration I did called "IronHorse".
I have your logo in my head, already. :)

I'll post sketches for your approval, soon.

Hello!
Well... I got a little excited, myself and by-passed the sketching, and move right on to "finished" vector.

Here goes...
Please advise.

All I can say is wow you are one talented lady! I have to get the war zone cleaned up this am and I will get back with you on feedback later today

Awesome concept

Another concept: rough sketch.
Please advise if you'd like to see it "finished".
Thanks,
Kimber.

Kimberly

Let's go with with version two! My partners walked in when I was looking at this sketch and both of them want to buy you a beer and one says he wants to marry you...... If you'll proceed with getting him in vector shape we can start what little fine tuning we need....I'll print the sketch and make a few notes

We're thinking of making you an offer on version one with the version two bull look as well so don't chunk it

Palmer
01-31-2004, 01:13 PM
Just to clarify, are you declaring Kimber the winner?

neon
01-31-2004, 01:29 PM
Just so you can see how close you came with a rough sketch, I threw some color at him and some lettering in a real rough draft.

Boy am I impressed!

Neon is Kimber the winner?

neon
01-31-2004, 01:32 PM
As far as the winner goes she is the only one to submit a design and got so very close that there's no question we will get to a working logo. ONCE she finishes the vector images and minor tweaks I will declare her the winner without a doubt

Palmer
01-31-2004, 01:38 PM
Ok, we'll move this to the revisions forum and the 2 of you can work out the details.

Thanks.

Congrats Kimber!

Kimber

Good afternoon

Got everyone together and here's the rundown:

Version one bull: Priority TWO
We would like to turn him into a her! In other words a female version of the version 2 bull simliar head style, keep her horns upswept and motorcycle style as version two bull, keep the prancing stance ....I will be willing to ad another $50 to the contest if that's acceptable to you

Version two bull: Priority ONE
This is the "official version"

Pipes : we would like the pipes to have a radical pointy cut you can see some ideas at one of our sponsor sites www.martinbrothersbikes.com

Flames:
We need some red - red in the flame fades all the way around, flames from scarlet red to orange to yellow. All of these can be very vibrant tones

Smoke:
We need to make the smoke look realistic puffs from his nose and from the rear tire

Left Shoulder of bull:
Please round the left shoulder out a bit more, it's ok to cover a bit more of the head to match that side to the right side

A question....what program are you doing the vector work in? I'm hoping I have something compatable

WE LOVE YOUR WORK!

On the right, the words:

"Thunderbird Motorcycle" is LHF Esoteric NEW Western, and
"Roundup" is LHF Equinox

Both are available at Letterhead Fonts (http://www.letterheadfonts.com/)

On the left: it's "Outlaw" and "Outlaw Rough" -- again they're Letterhead Fonts.

CorelDRAW 10, but I can get it in Illustrator, IllustratorEPS (Compatible with Freehand), or maybe even Flash.

Lemme know how you'd like it.
I'll post your changes soon.

Okay,
I think I have priority ONE taken car of:
Pipes: "pointy"
Flames: "red"
Smoke: "puffy"
Left Shoulder: "whoop! there it is!" ;)

As for the cow, if I keep the horns,
what will make the female version different than the bull?

IDEAS:
Different Coloured bike? (I'm kinda thinking green bike pink flames)
That would carry over to pink flames on legs, etc.
Eyelashes? For those "cow eyes"?
Hair in curlers?!
No nose ring?
Lipstick?
I'm not sure... the only way I can tell the bull from a cow is:
the cows have udders.
Please :help:

neon

Priority One FANTASTIC!

You can leave the Text off the master copies and I would like the file in Illustrator & IllustratorEPS I have 9.0 on that one and can create just about anything I need from your originals.

Consider yourself A+ cause we do!

Now then do you know how I can go about adding the extra $ to the contest to pay you for both versions???

ON TO PRIORITY TWO GIRLY COW:

1st don't laugh I just threw together the two images to give you an idea of what I was thinking and am attaching the mess so you can see

1. Use "Loco" (The name for the final bull) for form of the girl in the prancing stance from the older image

2. Narrower Face - a little less "attitude" than Loco

3. Eyelashes & Green Eyes

4. Her Flames all fade from Purple to yellow (see my corp site that's under construction for RGB colors in my logo http:\\www.gothunderbird.com

5. Her Pipes get flames in the colors above

6. Her bike paint job gets my Logo Colors (assuming your using the original bike from older version)

7. Her smoke puffs are smaller and daintier???

Any way here's the mess I threw together for inspiration

You can just pay the extra through the post a contest page and then send Palmer a PM or email explaining what it was for or post in the thread that it was sent and what it was for.

Jacki,
I appreciate your patience on Loretta.
Sometimes, finding time can be a challenge, but in this case it seemed I just couldn't get her to look right.

The tough-guy bull-bike was almost "easy".

The girlish not-so-much-attitude cow-bike was more difficult.

Love your logo colours BTW, they suit a bike beautifully. There's a gal here in town that rides an 800 Vulcan, and it's got the sweetest paint. Green base (more mossy than lime) but with the wickedest (if that's a word) Chameleon HOC painted flames that look like they "rainbow" between purple-magenta-orange-yellow, depending on the light or angle.

Loretta's head is raised, so she doesn't have the "charging" attitude that loco has, therefore, I thought it would look "silly" to have her with nostril snorts. Instread I put a puff at her front leg to make it look as though she's pawing the ground.

If she's good to go, I'll package her up and send her as soon as I hear word.
It's been my pleasure.
Kimber.

:o

Kimberly

Thanks for getting Loretta started but please forgive me for asking for more

Here are some changes

1. Narrower Face (think Bambi kind of look) real girly

2. LONG Eyelashes, smaller ears, Green Eyes, earrings in her ears

3. Her Flames all fade from Purple to yellow (see my corp site that's under construction for RGB colors in my logo http:\\www.gothunderbird.com

4. Her Pipes get flames in the colors above, you can also make her pipes smaller with flare tips

5. Her feet need to be more dainty

6. I would reduce the size of the bike a bit to make her shoulders and head more the center of attention

By the way here's a bike I designed the paint on

Hello Jacki,

Nice bike... Is that a Goldwing trike? I thought I saw a shadow of a second wheel in the back. ;)

Back to business:
I think I've addressed all the changes you were looking for.
She's starting to stray from the style of Loco, but I thibk she's achieving the "girly" look.

Please advise.

Kimber

I'm having a hard time with this one as well. Let's start by my saying we're turning your imagination loose on this design I've given this a lot of thought and I think I'm confusing the issue and making it harder than it has to be.

First off I'm adding another $50.00 to the girl cow you've worked hard on this and deserve it.

Secondly: Let's redefine this girl cow image
To Summarize I'm looking for:
Sexy B&&*& on Wheels look!
Maybe this girl I used on a shirt a few years back will lead us down the road of right kind of attitude.

Please try to come up with something on this asap as I need to get these ordered asap.

Next:

I have 3-4shirt designs that revolve around these logos (Loco & Loretta) that I need help on. Do you want me to open a new contest for these or do we simply want to work via this thread????

cre8or
02-20-2004, 07:27 PM
Hi Jacki,
The hard drive thing is horrible. Sorry to hear about that.
Thank you for posting the girl, I'll make another Loretta for you. ASAP.
As far as the Tshirt designs go, if you'd like to work with me exclusively, I suppose we can keep it in this thread. If you'd like to work with the Design Team, you should post another contest.

I'll post a sketch of Loretta first, if that's okay. Finishing her is where the "work" is involved.

Look for her within the next 24 hours.
Thank you.

I'll be sure to post a photo of Loco if he turns up a a tattoo!

On the latest Loretta This is much closer to how I saw her, Let's extend her face and widen it as well. Then lets make her horns larger and blend her body into the tank a bit more so she appears to morph like loco

I played with some colors on her a bit

cre8or

Okay,
The colour-scheme and the morphing are easy to handle.
What I think might be the big stumbling block is "the Look".
So, How's this for your girle cow?

Wider face, longer horns.

I know I'm jumping ahead on the shirts but I wanted to get your thought processes flowing as I need to place orders on them within 2 weeks.

Shirt Designs Needed:

Pre-Reg Shirt - BOTH IDEAS HAVE A WESTERN OR OLD WEST FEEL
1. Idea #1 - A herd of Longhorns running at you with Loco Leading the pack (the herd fades a bit behind Loco (I included a couple of examples attached)
2. Idea #2 - Loco Running down the street of the Old West Town we're doing the rally in (Bottom Image in example doc attached)

Regular Shirt
1. Idea #1 - Vintage Parchment Texas Map (little detail but must show dallas) with Loco bursting through the map (think Bonanza if that helps)
2. Idea #2 - Your Original Idea

The key thing to remember is that these are a total of TWO different shirt designs. We compliment those who pre-register by providing a unique collectors shirt and the other shirt is the only one sold at the rally

Was checking in on my last post on Loretta and t-shirt designs. Turns out I have to have surgery Tuesday and I need to make sure the artwork gets to the factory this next week to make production schedules.

Also please let me know on the amounts I need to add to the contest for you on these designs so I can make sure I take care of that before surgery

Loco bustin' through a map of the Great State of Texas!
(Dallas is the star).
Please advise.

I also got the message re: Loretta's flames, and I'll upload that shortly.
I'll PM you to let you know.

And 2Square, I'll downlaod that image and remove it, if that's okay with everyone.

Kimber.

The Stampede Tshirt design.

I'll post the map idea tomorrow. :)[/b][/quote]

Back home gonna be keeping short hours for a few days while I recover but here's a mock up of the stampede shirt.

I'm thinking we might get more impact on the stampede shirt if we make the cows in the back "ghostly" with glowing red eyes or something to make them pop but still be less than Loco's presence.

Sorry I missed you on the post as I mentioned back home but pretty weak right now.

Here's the mockup of the map shirt.

I'm not sure where to take this I love it but we're off center and the black t-shirt "fades the map" Maybe some red & balck veining in the map to punch it up?? or even a colored map????

I trust your judgement here and If I'm not clear on changes feel free to e-mail me a number as I have unlimited long distance and can discuss it if you choose to talk by phone, otherwise I'll have my assistant monitor my e-mail for replies.

P.S. I have Loretta, Loco and the sample designs saved if you want to save Palmer some space on old posts.

Here's a antique map with some color to it I found that might help??? I had to size it WAY WAY DOWN to make it fit space requirements here. If you want me to I can e-mail the original 300 DPI image

Hello Neon,
Hope you're recovering well.
I've made the changes to both designs:

"Ghost Bulls" -- The only way I could suitably "fade" the stampede of bulls behind Loco was to make them appear as part of teh "dust cloud" kicked up by Loco.

"Loco Map" -- I've added some red lines to the map, I'm not sure if they'll add or detract from the design. I'll let you decide.

Also, I've taken the liberty of presenting both designs on black Tshirts.
(I assumed that you were planning on black Ts)

Please advise.

Email Checked! I got your document, hopefully these new designs cover everything you need.

1. LocoMap -- different Texas shape. I tries to fill the "paper" area with the state of Texas, so there'd be little "background". Loco is bigger in my version, as compare with yours, simply because I thought it looked better. Now, I realize that Texas is a little more covered, but again, it was ust so it didn't look "empty".

2. LocoFlag -- As per the idea in your document.

3. LocoButton -- A vector design of the Button Idea laid out in your document.

Please advise.
(If these are good to go, let me know. I can upload them to my server tomoroow night -- or make revisions as necessary -- I'll upload the LocoStampede as well.)

I'm sorry for the delay... My boss is on holiday, and it seems that my workload has tripled. I have to bring the stuff home 'caue there's not enough hours int he day!

Got the download but one issue when I opened the Star shaped one I didn't catch the fact that the star is in front of the Ring last night (this morning) I can change it if you tell me how so you don't have to fool with it anymore I just don't know the right command in adobe to rearrange the layers.

I saw the first LOCO (by himself) roll of the press this afternoon and your are gonna flip when you see the shirts...........to kewl.
