Hi!
I am looking for a logo design for my web site, www.modellflynytt.no (http://www.modellflynytt.no). It’s about model airplanes (glow-/electro engine and sailplanes) and model helicopters. The project is located in Norway and has the Scandinavian countries as playground. For this project a need a logo that’s going to be on the web page and on print (t-shirt, caps and papers). I like the logo to reflect R/C (radio controlled) airplanes and helicopters but this is up to you. Trye to make me some cool stuff.
The logo will be used instead of the “Modellflynytt” that I’m using now so it has to "fitt" the page.
You don't have to stick to the dimentions on the "logo" I'm using now. Just make what you think is cool.
If you need some pictures or resources you can look in these links:
http://www.downonthedeck.com/
http://www.scaleairplanes.de/galerie.htm
http://www.jetdk.dk/_private/Köln2002.htm
http://www.jetdk.dk/_private/FL2.htm
The logo should have 'ModellflyNytt' or maybe it should have the url: 'ModellflyNytt.no' as main text. I know this is not very detailed but leaves a lot of room for creativity to you great designers here. You can also include the text 'Skandinavias ledende R/C nettverk’ if you like the idea. This text tells that ours web site is best in Scandinavian
I’m not sure what I want for this project so use you’re creativity and make me something that hits the user and looks professional.
Colors: should fit to the colors of the site: http://www.modellflynytt.no , maybe something in blue/grey/and some black. I’m not sure. …you are the designer J
The winner of this contest must provide me all the source files. I also want the logo in high resolutions in graphics format that I can print it on paper or textiles.
For the job I will pay $125
If you have any questions, please post them here. I will check this at least tree times per week and try to answer your questions and comment the different contesters.

Hi,
Too much horizantal dimensions dont let me develop what I have in mind. Here is what I can come up with, tried to make something similar to Norway flag...

I don't think this is what I'm looking for... I think I'm looking for a logo that has something more then text, I'm mean that the text and the graphics has to be more integrated I think whit som cool grafic and textfont.
kalvinhobs:
You're idea is nice but we have the Scandinavian countries as marketplace and don’t what to focus on one country I think. And the coloures dosn't fitt the site design.
It’s where difficult to describe what a what since a don’t now what I’m looking for but like to have you all to come up whit good ideas :)

Hi Klausre,
I am working on a logo for your contest, but I'm having some trouble with one of your requests:
"The logo should be a file editable in Photoshop with layers and editable text. If a special font is used please make sure that it is not protected by special copyrights and that the font is made available to me in TTF format for PC."
Is there a reason you'll need to edit the text?
I think this request might be why you're not getting a varity of cool fonts. Many of us convert the fonts to outlines making them graphics and then tweak them from there (at least I do), any many of my cool fonts can't be given out for free, etc. Plus I use MACS, so all my fonts are mac versions (I think maybe the new OSX uses the same font format as the pc)...
Plus, you're probably going to want a vector graphic for printing purposes, and eps file instead of photoshop. Providing both formats is not a problem... you'd use the eps file for printing and the photshop file for web stuff.
Just wondering... Thanks

Nice, very cool whit the controll stick and the cloud. I think you have to make modellfly I blue and nytt in gray/black (the coloure you used). Modellfly is one word and Nytt another ;)
I think a other type of plane will fitt for model aircraft. I shall trye to find something for you. Maybe we can trye a plane and a helicopter.... The site allso include heli ;)
Can you try to use a bigg M in modellfly and a bigg N in nytt (make it as a new copy)
You're absolute on something cool!

It's okay but not exactly what I was looking for. It’s nice whit some colures but I want it to have the same color range as the web site. Can you try to use an airplane instead of a "paper-plane".
markbeaudry:
I think the logo has to reflect model airplanes. You’re submission fall under the same comment as the logo from Mowling.
VisualSense:
This is very good! The only thing now is that I think the angle of the airplane look kind of weird… Could you try to use the plane you used in the earlier submission? The one that “fly’s” to the upper right corner (posted Feb 12 2004, 01:41 PM).
Dynagirl:
This submission is you’re best! This is a very nice delivery. Maybe you should try to use one colure for ‘Modellfly’ and another for ‘Nytt’. Can you try that?

I like the logo you have here. But a allso need to use the logo on dark background and therfore a need a white "Stroke" around it. Do you know what a meen?
A allso want a revision whit only the tekst.
Tonya
02-19-2004, 10:25 PM
This first one is with a white stroke, but I made 2 alternatives below for you to see as well. I displayed them all on black so you an see how they look on a dark background.
<img src='http://www.frobo.com/graphic_work/modellfly/modellfly7.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
<img src='http://www.frobo.com/graphic_work/modellfly/modellfly9.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
<img src='http://www.frobo.com/graphic_work/modellfly/modellfly8.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
I'll be sure to include text-only versions in your final logo file package. But here is a sample of all the text colors I've used:
<img src='http://www.frobo.com/graphic_work/modellfly/modellfly10.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
Let me know which of the dark background versions you prefer and if there are any other revions you need. When you're ready, just let me know what file types and image sizes you need. I always include the Adobe Illustrator files in both .ai and .eps format, as well as some GIFs and JPEGs. But I can provide most any format if you need something else.
klausre

Hi!
I like/prefer the one whit number #7 with a white stroke and the original #6
The same whit the text.
I don't think a need any other revions to them.
When you're ready, just let me know what file types and image sizes you need. I always include the Adobe Illustrator files in both .ai and .eps format, as well as some GIFs and JPEGs.
If you make me some different sizes in gif and jpeg, from large inn 1280x960 and down I'll be very happy. Include then in both .ai and .eps.
Tanks.
PS! dynagirl, I'm going to start a new contest next week and I hope you enter that one to :)

Sounds like we're all set, so I'll get your files together and send you a PM with a link to download them once they're ready.
Yes, I'm sure I'll enter your next contest :)
Thanks
