[admin edit]previous topic description "$90 layout for mutliple print products"[/edit]

(Admin code added by Palmer - 71207621)

We are in need of stationary and biz cards.

We are a non-profit business that supports student ministries to local churches. We provide youth camps and ski retreats to assist youth pastors in providing great events for their students. We would need these ready for our printer in .AI or .EPS or whatever files acceptable to a print house. There will be some text changes to business cards for 2 people and 2 addresses. A tag line for letter head and business cards will read "Where are you taking your students?" Feel free to be creative and use watermarks or whatever you think will look nice.

Here's our logo:
<img src='http://www.412student.com/images/412_logo.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
And further info and a feel for who we are can be found at our website:
http://www.412students.com

use the following as dumby test for now:

Name:Michael Lukaszewski, Jr,
Address:P.O. Box 412 Middleburg, FL 32080
Phone:412-412-4121
E-mail: Michael@412students.com
url: www.412students.com
tag line: "Where are you taking your students"

Biz card may need to be two sided due to the nature of our logo. Be creative!
Thanks in advance.

Where is everyone? Elkootcho, where are you man! Please give me some feedback and let me know if I provided you with enough info and if anyone is working on this that would be great. Is price fair? I need this by 2/15/04. Thanks!

I've been swamped with personal stuff lately but am trying to get into some more contests this weekend.

Additional info that would be helpful:

Logo: Is it possible to provide an EPS version of the logo? Much easier to work with and will provide a cleaner print.

business cards / letterhead / envelopes : Do you want to stick with 2 colors like your logo or are you hoping for full-color, full bleed? Big price differences sometimes. Especially for the letterhead and envelopes. You should figure that aspect out first.

Business card: 1-sided or 2-sided.

Birthday card: Again, full color or spot color? Will the envelope be printed or left blank?

Also, can you provide some dummy text for the business cards, etc. Names, address, phone, fax, cell, e-mail, website. Sometimes people add a lot of stuff to cards that makes a big difference on layout.

There are so many options now when it comes to getting this stuff printed that the more info you can provide, the better.

Thanks for the info and direction:

1) I've attached a Photoshop file. It's the best I have right now.

2) I think, due to my logo, two sided would be good on Biz cards with logo on front and back info as follows:

Name:Michael Lukaszewski, Jr,
Address:P.O. Box 412 Middleburg, FL 32080
Phone:412-412-4121
E-mail: Michael@412students.com
url: www.412students.com
tag line: "Where are you taking your students"

3) colors:

Birthday cards - 2 colors, yes print return address on envelopes with logo

Biz cards - full bleed (see below)

Letterhead - depends on art - be creative I don't pay for my printing so it doesn't matter. The printer I use is excellent and donates most of his printing. He is a large commercial printer that usually adds my stuff onto runs of tens of thousands of pieces of mostly full color stuff. This way, it wont' hinder your creativity.

Note: I've upgraded this to $90 instead of originally posted $65.

Thanks!

***UPDATE***

I've dropped the Birthday Card and now looking for just stationary/biz cards for the same money. I'll put the birthday card in the charity forum (since it seemed like a logo creation - I thought I would get more entries here without it). So, now less work, same money $$$

If anyone is working on this please let me know.
Thanks,
David

Okay, here it is.

I went with the overall look of the website and stuck with using the gray-scale version of your logo. I think it works best when combining the two looks. The red color in the word "students" doesn't work well with the colors of your site.

One question: Do you own the photo that I pulled from your site and used in the design? It appears it was for a billboard design. I just need to make sure you have the rights to use it on other material.

Anyway, I look forward to your comments and feedback.

Thanks.

Stephen - If I don't get another single entry this is great! I like the way you tied in the road pic from the website. I'll have to check with our web guy on where the pic came from. I'm thinking it came from a public domain pic site but I'll doublecheck (pretty cool, huh?). My one issue is that we are trying to use this design for our company (412students, Inc.) and for our affiliates (my youth ministry). There are two of us right now and we can be found at the following url's:

412students@NCC (http://www.412student.com)
&
412students@fbc (http://www.the412life.com)

So, it might be best to see a look with the logo and traditional red color without such a website feel. Though if we like this well enough for just our company, then we'll see if anyone comes up with a way to do the affiliate designs differently. I hope this helps and provides acurate feedback. I can easily see other winners if future entries go in a different direction with the logo. Thanks a bunch for gettting us off to a great start! You set the standard high! I was getting worried everyone was on vacation skiing in Colorado or something!
All for Him,
David

Yes, very nice. I think we may get a number of good entries out of this one. I don't see any need for changes right now. Let's just see how these compare to any more that come in. Both are very nice.

Dave,
I made an attempt to use the logo colors to better match the organization. I think the use of the graphics and image from your site help to maintain that "site" feel while incorporating your actual identity colors.

Looking forward to your feedback.

Thanks for your patience. I decided on a look that follows the distressed style of your logo. Let me know if you'd like to see any changes. The attached image is shown at 75% of it's actual size.

This one is a little more corporate. It follows the "road" idea of your website while making use of your logo colors. The image used is high resolution so it will print cleanly (as are the images in my previous entry. All are 300 dpi).

Well it's 2/15 - I'm pretty close to ending this but just was wondering if anyone else had any last minute entries. For this price I was hoping for a few more tries. But for those who submitted entries - thank you for you great effort and professional work. They are all good and I'll will make a decision in the next day or so. Thanks,

Hey guys, haven't quite decided yet, but I have another $20 for whoever gets my birthday card contest in the charity forum: http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/?showt...opic=2949&st=0& (http://www.designoutpost.com/forums/?showtopic=2949&st=0&)

I realized it was probably a bad idea to separate these contests becuase I want the look to be the same. I don't have any good ones in that forum yet so I thought I would direct you to it since whoever wins this contest will get that one. Just thought I'd let you know so that if you have a birthday card idea that might go along with these already posted it would help make the decision. Thanks,
Dave

Sorry, I meant "great" ones yet. Yours was good but I think I explained why it wouldn't work. Didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Last thing I need is to offend Palmer - the reason this all happens

to be fair - here's the context:

2) Palmer - the only difficulty with this one is that I send the same card to every student on my list and most are not skaters and my girls probably wouldn't dig the skater theme. I've got some really good looks in my stationary contest under the miscellaneous forum that I realize now separating these two contests may not have been a good idea becuase they probably need to be done by the same person - so I'll try to point those guys to this contest as well so both have a consistant look (anyone here is welcome to give that one a try as well) It was for way more $$

You have to admit - the quality of work I received so far in my stationary contest for $90 has been far greater than what I have seen in this birthday card charity contest for only $20. I have 5 contests going right now and I'd love to anti up some more but the been counters will start taking it out of my pay if I'm not careful.

Either way, thank you and I didn't mean to be ugly with poor choice of words.

Just wondering......I barely have any fingernails left.

makinprogress412

I think I have enough entries to make a decision - pretty much leaning to one, just been busy. Will let you all know soon! Whoever wins will need to do my birthday card from the other contest for $20 - can you all agree to that as long as I'm not breaking any forum rules or get Palmer any more mad at me than he is now :D ??

 WINNER ANNOUNCED!

Despite having several quality designs to choose from and DO once again proving itself worthy of it's claims, we have finally made a decision on this contest. We would like to announce that graphxguy (steve preston) is the winner for this sationary and business card contest.

We wish to thank you all for your excellent entries which made this choice very difficult. If it would make sense to have multiple stationary designs which I could randomly choose each day, then I would have chosen all the designs and just rotated using them (though my printer would hate me for that). But I don't think that would be practical. So, thank you all again and congratulations to Steve for an excellent and creative design that will represent our business well and provide a cohesive print look.

Steve, we can finish revisions as soon as Palmer moves this to the revisions forum (just a few minor changes like you needing to have our exact copy for two letter heads and two business cards per contest post). Plus, not 100% keen on the text box on reverse side of biz card conatining our url - we'll see.

All for Him,
David

Dave,
Hey, bro. I was just wondering if I could get the info necessary to do the two letterheads and BCs. Also, how would you like these sent?

I think you may want to check on the photo and see if it's available as a hi-res image. I'm concerned that the one I pulled off of your site is not large enough.

Thanks. Talk to you soon.
