EDGY LOGO - AREA 51 SKIMBOARDS - $100

Hi,

For those that participated in the 1st Area 51 contest, thanks again.

This is for a different "pro" model and I think will be a much easier logo than the 1st as I know pretty much exactly what we want

1) A "AREA 51" font in BLACK with a FUTURiSTIC FONT that is EASILY LEGIBLE.

2) AN ALIEN SKULL!!! This one is for our more "hard core" teenage 'skater dudes' so it needs to be EDGY & COOL..

'NUFF SAID. I've attached an idea for a cool Alien SKULL Head.

Thanks, all very COOL.

I like MUTE DESIGN design the most so far - very edgy. I like the red eyes in the 2nd one - kind of reminds me of the machine from The Terminator.

I'm not too concerned w/the font style right now - I think I found one from the last contest which will work just fine. Let's just focus on the head which will measure about 6 inches and screened on the back of the board.

MUTE DESIGN - Can we try 2 things: 1) I would really like to see the Alien Skull from the front - head facing directly head on rather than the profile. The tougher
looking the better.

2) let's try a few other colors for the skull - red, silver, or a darker blue.

DYNAGIRL, MOZ - could you make the eyes a little smaller and slanted? Maybe keep the skull white and make the eyes green or red? He needs a bit of a sinister effect if possible.

MOZ - Pretty cool - toxic bug alien. The problem is I really need it to look like an alien - 1/2 the kids buying these probably don't kow what Area 51 is, unfortunately. The buyer will be 8 = 15 yrs old - skaters- they seem to like skulls and aliens- my (our) challenge is combining them into something cool that they can tell is an alien skull...

Dynagirl - I like it - not sure about the teeth though even though it is a skull. Lets either lose the teeth completely or give him fangs or something.

How's this? I think getting rid of the teeth all together doesn't look right, so I reduced them signifigantly and added some fangs. I think it gives a pretty creepy look:

Cool. Could you try it w/ GREEN eyes w/the eyes a little narrower? The fangs make it look a little too buglike for me so maybe just lose the teeth all together and give him a "slit mouth." Maybe ad a crack in the top of the head and square off the jaw if you can.

1) The Alien Skull from the front - head facing directly ahead on rather than the profile. The tougher looking the better.

2) let's try a few other colors for the skull - red, silver, or black.

3) use the Cool font you did w/Voodoo - the Gothic style like in your final post - love it...

I think you're real close on this one! Discussed w/all the crew here and let's see if we can go w/this modiified version which may be the final:

1) Green Alien - looks best in our opinion.

2) Eyes - like the red eyes - can you add a yellow pupil that makes him look like he's staring directly AT you rather than straight ahead. That would be freaky - and cool.

3) like the "white" teeth rather than green (like in the original post).

4) Like the latest AREA 51 font - can you just make it a little smaller and shade the "Area" in black just like you've got the "51." I want the head to really be the focal point.

5) Like the spikes around the head lhat you had in the earlier post.

6) like the flames but could you make them a little smaller? - I think if there too long it draws your head away from the alien head. Flames might look better in red/orange/yellow.

7) Bubbles are an awesome effect!- I wonder if you can make them a little less "cartoonish" - meaning maybe they shouldn't be perfectly round.

I think the finished product should be a keeper - beaches of the USA beware!.

Made the requested changes, Enhanced the font with a bit more color to make it "POP". The color will make it show better on the board also... :tup:

It's CLOSE. I think I've asked for too many colors - let's get rid of the yellow in the "AREA 51" and the yellow eyes. Le't keep the font black/red. I like the smaller font - the "Area" might even better if it wraps around the skull like in the 2/11 10:44am post. You can even make the "51" a little smaller.

I really want to skull to be the focal point - the name "AREA 51" will be in large letters on the front of the board so the back will be all about your bad*** skull.
Lastly, the blue bubbles are a little too cartoonish. What if the bubbles were black/red?

OK - at last I have all the feedback from my coworkers on the final logo. We would like to mix and match a couple current versions for the final finished product:

1) Green head like in the 2/06 10:15am post (w/white teeth). Also, the black/red outline around the skull like in the 2/06 10:15 am post. I like the spikes around the head on the other versions so let's keep them.

2) The bubbles are a little cartoonish in blue so let's keep them white w/some shading in the bubbles. Can you do a couple that aren't perfectly round too?

2) We like the flames in the 2/11 2004, 10:33 AM post (thick around the bottom of skull). Let's use that and just shorten the length of the flame so it's about 70% as high.

4) Let's use the red eyes like in the Feb 6 2004, 10:15 AM post without the yellow pupil. I want to move the red eye to the right s it's at the back of the eye socket so it looks like he's looking to his side.

5) FONT - We like the color combo and location of the font in the Feb 11 2004, 10:33 AM post - white "Area" and black "51." The only change is that I want the shrink down the "Area" just a ittle bit.

Sorry for all the changes but it will go on a bunch of boards so I need to get the color combos right.
