(Admin code added by Palmer - J4424618)
I am interested in a logo for my lawn service. The name of the company is Bushwood's Landscaping. The logo can also say Bushwoods Lawn & Landscaping. Either one is acceptable.
I am a one man operation thats been in business for 6 years, and will be expanding this year. The bulk of my operation (75%) is lawn maintenance. The rest is landscaping work.
I would like it to be a 2 color logo that can be used for T shirts, Business cards, company letterhead, and truck signs. I will need it to be in a format that can handle these needs. I would consider a logo with more than two colors, but I have found that they cost more to transfer, but for a sharp looking design, I would consider it.
I am an avid golfer when not working, and I have a springer spanial (dog) that goes to work everyday with me, and love to play with the other dogs on my route. Either of these can be included in the logo if you desire, just throwing it out there. I am open to just about any and all ideas.
This is my first posting, and may not have included all the things you need, so feel free to contact me with any and all questions. Thank you in advance, and look forward to your ideas. OK Fire away! I hope I did this right, Thanks, Bill

I like where your going with the first one. Can you show me one that says Bushwood's Lawn & Landscaping? The more I have thought about it, I think that is what I would like to have. Maybe use the dog to seperate the the "lawn" and "landscaping" part instead of using the & if that makes sense. ;)
I think the second one is too "Blocky" looking, and I don't really care for the dog in the third one.
It is not imperative that the dog is part of the logo, I just threw that out there as a possibility. I am open to all sugestions and ideas. Thanks for the work so far.
I have been watching the work that goes on in this site, and I have been very impressed with some of the logo ideas you designers have put out. I can't wait to see some more ideas. Thanks, Bill

Hey huhhso,
After looking at the second one again, what about removing the green dog icon out of the first O and keeping it the same as the rest of the word, changing the font, and then put the lawn and landscape under the Bushwoods part with the dog included in it somehow. I kind of like the green line with the grass & dog in the second one. I think I just would like to see a couple of different font styles. :D

How is this looking?

ubergerlgeek,
That one doesn't do much for me. As I mentioned, it is not crucial that the dog is a part of the logo, but if you want to put one in, I would like to see one that looks more realistic. Or looks more like a springer spanial. I think I have attached a link for a site with pics of sringers. Check out "buster, Bogart, or Tucker" Thanks for the reply. Keep em comming. :D
Looks like the link did not attach. Try www.geocities.com/heartland/1536/page3.htm
What do you think? I was going for a bit more professional image.

John,
Your on the right track, I would like a logo that has a profesional image. As I mentioned in past replys, it is not crittical that an image of a dog is included, I was just thinking off the top of my head.
I like what you have done, but can you possily put in some type of a focal point ie: a leaf, grass, tree etc.... What do you think? Bill
Something such as this?
By the way, i was making this logo in an abstract sense. Not sure if its your taste or not, but i think it holds its professionalism well.

John,
A little too abstract for me, can't really make out what it is next to the company name. I do like the clean lines for the company name.
jdesign,
I like this, however I do not like the simple trees. Maybe a tree a little more realistic. Also maybe a line drawn under the"Bushwoods". I like the room left under the "swoosh" for a phone number for truck signs. Also could I see one with a different color. I'm not crazy about the brown.
Kootcho,
I like the clean lines on the bottom for the company name, and the dark green around the outside. Maybe a different leaf or tree, Or something <_< for the middle, and maybe a different color than the lime green.

Where is your company located? Any particular vegetation that your region is known for?

Kootcho,
I'm in Northern Va. The state flower is the dogwood, which also happens to be a tree as well. Other than that, we have Oak tree's maple tree's etc.....
Not to copy work that you have done already, but I like what you did with "Alfrescos" last 4-5 postings you did for him on March 10. I would be interested to see somehting like that for Bushwood's, but obviosly not a copy of their logo, but maybe somthing along that line. Thanks, Bill :D
Hello! Here's my entry. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

QSDA,
Thaks for your post, however the font fo rthe letters is too fat, and I don't think the tree would transfer well. After looking at the black and white version, I think you can see what I mean. Kinda looks like a big black blob.
Koothco,
Wow! I think your on to something. Could you show me this with the dark green area as white, and the white area with dark green. Also change the lettering to dark green (against the white background) and maybe the same dark green in a pinstripe framing the whole outline. Make sense? ;)

More realistic trees, also moved the type about.

Jdesign,
I like that better but with with name above like in the first one, and maybe some different fonts. I think having the room under the "swoosh " will work better to add a phone number for the truck signs. Maybe throw in a 555-123-4567 under the "swoosh" as an example for me.
Kootcho,
I'm going to have to think about #3 I think the concept is good, but may need to play with some different color combinations between the three colors.
Ondarax,
Nice touch with the serving the community bit. I'm not crazy about the frillys above the Bushwoods part. I would rather see some sort of "green industry" related item ie: tree, leaf, grass, etc.......Also lets put the serving the community part on the bottom. I think it gets lost on the top since your eye is drawn right away to the larger font of the company name. Maybe put Bushwood's at the top with lawn & Landscaping under that, followed by some sort of icon, then the serving the comminity etc.. on the bottom.
Thanks to everyone so far for the great entrys. I'm looking forward to seeing some more. :D

Keep in mind that, technically, this is a 2-color logo. The white really doesn't count. It would be replaced with whatever your paper color is. So, print on white or beige paper and you get the effect of a 3-color logo. The white portion of the logo drops out and the paper shows through. If you took this logo to your local printer for business cards or letterhead, you should only be charged for 2-colors. Only 2 inks are used, the paper become the third color. I'll post some examples on "paper" this weekend.
(You'd have to check with your printer of course. Some "quick print" shops will actually print this as 4-color instead on using the specified Pantone colors)
If you're interested in 3-colors, I 'd be happy to come up with some variations that really use 3 ink colors.

Koothco,
OOPS! my bust
May i see some other two color combos. I like the way your # 2 design shows in the B/W version as well as the color. Maybe loose the center box all together. I think we're closr, but it just needs a tweek somewhere. I just can't quite put my finger on it. ;) I give it some more thought today and let you know if I come up with anything. Thanks, Bill

jdesign,
Thanks for the change, I think black would be the best color for the name.
Kootcho,
The changes on 4 & 5 look great. I like the way tou drop down the B & S in # 5 Can that be done on #4? Maybe chnge the tree as well to a different type or possibly a leaf. As I mentioned in previous replys, there's something I can't quite put my fingeron, and maybe it's the tree.
Of course I may just be stareing at it too long
All the designers have been great so far. Koodos to all :D

ondarox,
V 3 & 4 are very sharp looking, Thank you for the posting. Both of them are strong contenders.
huhhso,
welcome back. The second and third ones in your last posting, I like very much and are definitly in the running. Can you slide the green part down a bit, and put the "Bushwood's" part in with a gold font, and change the tree to match the green in the background color? Make sense? ;) Thanks, Bill

huhhso,
Thanks for the revisions, very good looking in deed.
Thanks to everyone for all the great designs. I will be making my decision on next Weds. the 26 I know I said I would go till the end of the month, but I think we're close with a couple of these entries, maybe a last minute "tweek" here or there.
I will certainly consider all entries, and don't wish to shut anyone out, so any last minute brainstorms, don't hesitate to post them. I will respond as quikly as possible to all entrys. :D

03-26-2003, 01:15 PM
ondarox,
Can you take V2 and put a tan background inside the square instead of white, and put a small "s" instead of the capital s" on Bushwood's
Also your version #4 can you take the dark green half moon, and change it to orange to mimick the sun, then change the blades of grass to green. Please change the bottom from sculpting nature...... to serving the community since 1998
I will make my desision on one of these two revisions, when you are able to get to them.
Thanks to all of the designers for a great job, this is a great site, and will be using it again for other upcomming events. Thanks again, Bill :D :D

Congratulations to Ondarox for the wiining design.
The last version with the orange sun mimic is the winner. It was a difficult choice between V6 and that one, but the sun won out.
Thanks to all of the designers for their input, and ideas. Great job!
