Hello designers! (Admin code added by Palmer - R5643664U)
I have been following your work for a couple of weeks and I have been very impressed by what I have seen. I need a new logo for my lawn and landscape business. The name of my company is Harvey Lawn Care, we are located in Madisonville, KY. I mostly focus on grounds maintenence 80% residential - 20% commercial. We also do landscape installation. My target client is high-end residential. I would like a logo that projects an image of quality and class. My company colors are red and yellow. This logo will be used on all types of media (Trucks, uniforms, letterhead, bus. cards, ect..) I would like a two color design that could also be used as one color (black and white). I would like the logo to say Harvey Lawn Care, and in smaller print Madisonville, KY. I have a couple of examples of logos I like but I am not sure how to post them. I will have my wife post my examples in a day or two. I am open to any design. I also may consider a logo with just the letters HLC, I really would like to build an easy to spot "brand" for my business. The deadline for this contest will be 3/25/03. I cant wait to see what y'all come up with, good luck.

I really like the Woodsongs logo - you can see it at www.woodsongs.com. I also have a picture of another logo that I like and I tried to upload it, but I received an error saying that I cannot upload that type of file. Thanks - Patrick Harvey

What was the file extension? .bmp?
Patrick Harvey

No, it was a .doc

Hmmm, I'm not sure if allowing that type of file poses a security risk or not. Do you have a graphics program? If so can you open that file, save it as a jpg and upload it then?
If not, I can allow .docs for a little bit, let you upload, then change the settings back. Let me know.

Palmer, I do not have a graphics program. If you could allow me to upload the file as it is that would be great.

The "H" represents turf being layed. It is a strong graphical symbol that works at any size.

wow QSDA, I really like that idea. It wasnt really what I had in mind, but this one really caught my eye! It reminds me of a sports team's logo. Can you make it look more like what you would see on the front of a baseball jersey? Great work! thank you, pat

Ruairi, I like your idea of combining the H and L. Can you add some vines or ivy growing up and around the letters? great job! pat

Elkootcho, very nice. Can you give me a couple different fonts? Something maybe a little more elegant. Good job, pat

The first one is bitmap based; the second one is vector based.
Let me know what you think.

Wow I didn't know red and yellow were going to be so hard to work with. Whenever I try to do something different than the one I posted, it just becomes a mess :( ...

Thank you all for your time and effort. Elkootcho, I like 02 the best, but its still looks a little plain to me. Ondarox, I like this design, I am concerned about how I would use this logo on my trucks. I use vinyl lettering and I would not be able to replicate the shadows. Can you give me just flat colors? and maybe a white background? Ruairi, I like the 2nd one better, but like I was saying to Ondarox, flat colors will work better for me. Can you tell me what "vector based" means? Qsda, I think I liked the first one better. Please dont limit yourself to red and yellow, they are my company's colors but I am open to your ideas. I can tell you all put a good deal of effort in these designs and I appreciate the time you spent on them. I apoligize for being so picky, I am just trying to find a logo that fits my company's personality. pat :)

Is this a design that you're still interested in? Should I continue trying other fonts or abandon this look?

Vector based logos are scalable at any size.
Here are two versions. Let me know what you think.

Thank you all for your time. The winning designer is Ondarox. The design I have choosen is Stand out vecter v.4 03/22. There are two changes I need to the logo. First Id like the light blue line around the logo changed to green. Second Id like you to add the grass-blades to the left side of the logo like in vrooom v.1 03/16. Im not sure what to do now, can someone please tell me what the next step in this process is, and how do I download my new logo when it is finished? Thanks, pat
