Well here goes.

I need a logo :o shocking eh? I'll do my best to describe etc, let me know if you need more.

site name: Hurricane-Warning.com

It's a college football site primarily covering the University of Miami football program.

I am looking for something that will be on every page of the site as a header, so something that works for those 800x600 users. I also want to be able to enlarge it without losing anything (does that make sense? isn't that called vectoring? anyway) so I could put it on a tshirt if so desired.

1 required element of the logo must be the hurricane warning flags (see link) blowing in the breeze. I'd also like to the site name somehow incorporated into the logo. A palm tree also being blown by the wind is something extra possibly but I am open to suggestions and since you guys are the pros I'd like to see what you come up with. I particurly like like the "Tulsa" flag included in the link.

The logo will be against a background color of "dfdfdf"
other site colors are an orange "ff6600" green "006600" and white. The team colors are primarily orange and green but the flag is red outside with a black inside (again see zip).

Here are the specs for image req. for the tshirt printer I'd use (zazzle)

Apparel: 150ppi
The images that you upload will be converted to 150ppi (pixels per inch) if not already at this resolution. This means every 150 pixels in your image will become 1 inch when printed. For example, if you submit a 1200 pixel by 1500 pixel image for an apparel product, it will be printed at 8" by 10". This is because: 1200 pixels divided by 150 pixels/inch = 8 inches, 1500 pixels divided by 150 pixels/inch = 10 inches.

We recommend that you add images that are smaller than, or equal to, the maximum sizes:

pocket: *600 pixels x 600 pixels *= 4" x 4" *
horizontal: *2100 pixels x 1800 pixels *= 14" x 12" *
vertical: *1800 pixels x 2100 pixels *= 12" x 14"

I am not quite sure what else to add. There is no deadline but I sooner is always better than later. Please ask any questions.

here is the aforementioned link http://hurricane-warning.com/inspiration

Thanks.

Adrian,

Here's my first try--I've got all the colors you mentioned on this to give you an idea of how they would look together. Do you have any feedback for me?

Julie

Thank you for the entry.

I'm thinking a combination of what you have done.

I like the hurricane-warning.com across the bottom. Could you do the hurricane in orange (ff6600), the dash in black, the warning in green (006600).

I'm really liking the O in .com idea you came up with, could you do a smaller something like this (http://www.photolib.noaa.gov/flight/images/fly00435.jpg) just the outline no airplane, etc. in place of the O?

Now for the flag, I like the bottom image flag, we can scrap the palm tree idea and can you make the black square just a touch smaller? Also the symbol is a double flag (ex http://hurricane-warning.com/hurri.gif ). Could you make the flag flying of a flag pole and have it behind the hurricane-warning.com? Here is the concept I am going for (forgive the crudeness :D )http://hurricane-warning.com/concept.jpg the text in the forground, the flag in the background.

I hope I am not being to demanding.

Hi, Adrian,

How about one of these? I took your suggestions, made one exactly like it, and then did some variations as well.

Once you decide on the colors you like the best let me know. I can always send you all the versions and you can use as you like.

I did the Hurricane Flags in two different reds for you to look at and put their Web Color Hex Number so you could look at them.

I like the last one.

Will I be able to blow this up and put it on a Tshirt without it looking all grainy/pixelated?

Adrian,

I will send you vector and raster images which will allow you to use the image at any size with no loss of resolution.

I will make sure that the raster (JPEG / GIF) images are consistent with the specs you had in your original post for the t-shirt printable area. I will save it set to 300dpi, which is print quality and you will see no pixelization.

Adrian,

One thing that must be considered is how your t-shirt printer uses color. Because your image is exclusively Web Safe colors, the color may differ from what actually prints on a t-shirt.

I will include close match spot color and CYMK versions of your logo for your t-shirt printer.
