Asymilate Ltd (Adnin code added by Palmer - 9512125)

Profile : Asymilate Ltd is a provider of Consultancy Services to the Banking community in the area of Software, Consulting and Integration services. The main assets of the company are the people who have many years experience and indepth knowledge of finance and technology. There are able to work on projects amongst Client teams to deliver solutions on a variety of briefs.

The idea of Asymilate is of a company that is able to assemble solutions by bringing together technology / people / software and services in order to provide solutions in a constantly changing business environment.

Target Market : Banks, building societies, financial institutions involved with implementing third party software for trading, settlement and risk management

Location : Based in London but providing services globally

Image : Consultative, bold, efficient, experienced and professional, team minded, quality

Appeal : Logo must appeal to buyers of consultancy and professional services for the Capital Markets ie banks / building societies / financial institutions. Main buyers will be financial institutions that need to buy external assistance for technology services to augment their existing projects.

Logo : Colours – Blue / Black / Orange to create a young, bright company with fresh ideas and vision but not too ambitious to frighten the conservative buyer. Messages should convey an ability to compete with bigger rivals through knowledgeable staff and tailored services. Would like a suggestion for a catchphrase / caption to attach to the logo eg 'Solutions for Capital Markets' etc

It should really work on a wide range of media - business cards (black&white or maybe limited color), website, print. Preferably a vector based format, and it should degrade gracefully with color reduction.

Heres an idea I came up with.

Thanks for the quick start. It is an encouraging start and seems like a clean image. Some comments are : What do the dots and curve represent. In terms of proportion, the symbol before the name seems a little large. Do you have any ideas for the catchphrase to attach to the name so that is conveys additional meaning as per brief which can be reinforced by the symbol?. Any more ideas about different symbols ?

Many thanks

I made this logo thinking that the 3 dots represent technology, people and software, and the curve is your company bringing them all together. Also I highlighted the "s" mainly because it looked good, and also because I thought it could represent "solutions". Ok well, Ill see if I have make the logo a bit smaller, and also if I can come up with some more ideas.

The first two have symbols to represent integration, the third to represent progress and development.

Any suggestions? :)

Some comments: Re ubergerlgeek - I see what you mean about the 3 dots. Is there any way to make a closer relationship between the three dots and people / technology / consulting. It is not obvious that these are symbolic of these three things but the idea of the 's' bringing them together is nice and it adds softness since it is curved. Look forward to seeing your other designs / catchphrases

re: john : nice start. Initial thoughts are that the lettering is very square and harsh and gives a strong emphasis on technology / less on people. Could you find some symbols / designs that are softer. Thanks for the catchphrases - can these be made to be softer either through italics / colours. Any ideas on symbols that show intelligence / forward thinking / innovation

Well,

I know from experience that most banks, specifically in the UK, are looking to simplify as well as diversify. Those are the words I keep hearing out of the banking center. Well, that and "consumer-centric", but that's happening around the world.

A friend of mine just finished a massive ad campaign for Lloyds, and their big behind-the-scenes push was simplicity.

So, I've highlighted that in this logo. Meant to be clean, stylish, and not so overbearingly techy that it'll turn the upper echelons off.

john : The lettering on the logos is a little thick at first glance and of the three new designs, the first and last work best. The 'connecting software to people' sounds good whilst integrating the impossible seems a little farfetched. Is it possible to be more creative with the logo. For example three triangles spinning but coming together at a focal point. Other images also greatly appreciated

Jeremy : Your thoughts on simplicity are interesting and the logo does apear clean and simple which is nice. Is there a symbol in addition to this that would create the sense of people, software, consulting in a simple clean image. What other colours do you think work well. If the logo was standalone in black and white perhaps it wouldn't have less appeal but it is an attractive start.....

Peter, I like your logo more without the symbol ;) No offence of course, I just think the font style with the orange arrow is great and very strong :)

 Beetle : Ruri

Not sure that they would have appeal with the corproate banking comunity. Ruri - the fonts / colours are very thick and in not immediately attractive to the eye. Beetle, the fonts look very jazzy like you could be sitting in an cafe in amsterdam

Something like this a little better? I really would prefer to stay away from strong symbolism, as I think that would detract from my understanding of what your clients would be looking for. I'm fully open to being proven wrong or doing some other things, but hopefully even if you don't pick my logo I can help out a little in the process :)

Attached is v2 :)

Some feedback:

Latest posts from John + v e r t are moving in the right direction. vert's image looks the most mature and the 3D effect of the pyramid would work in Black and White print too. The different degrees of shading would also work. The pyramid shape could be softened though since the edges are a little sharp. A combination of the two somehow might be the correct angle. John's triangles could be worked upon with shading and softened edges for example. The fonts used by John are neater than vert.

Regarding the other posts. The blue colours seem to be working better than the orange at the moment. There are some logos that use different coloured lettering. This confuses the focus if more than one letter is highlighted in a different colour. The subtlety of the 'dot' above the letter i highlighted in a different colour or in fact with a small inverted triangle as with Beetle's post in the earlier section works well. Also the underlining with Vert's recent logo has a good impact of making the letters look as though they are moving forwards or that the company is moving forwards. Similarly with Jeremy's logo with the dot's below the 'SYM' lettering. They could be designed so that it looks like the letters are in forwards movement.

xtereior motiv - too many sharp shapes in your logo but your first stab at the template looks promising. Chelle - please see above.

Looking forward to seeing your comments .....

Aright, I'll try and knock something further up later. Before I do I'd like to advise you that the stability you are looking for may be undermined by the movement you've asked for in your last post. Since I'm here less to win than to help, feel free to decline my entries, and even my comments.

Just posting based on my fairly solid understanding of your target market :)

Ill post a new version (without the rough edges in the triangles later) but here is a play on the current one (a bit of inspiration). How aout an animated logo to show the fast-moving part of the company whilst keeping the professional image intact?

It seems that my last post somehow got cancelled. Anyhow here it is again.

The two logos that we liked most are from John and V+E+R+T but both ot them have potential to be improved with slight adjustments. They were liked because of their simplicity and they convey the partnership of Software / Technology / People (although quite abstract). The shading on the pyramidby VERT is nice but the pyramid looks a little solid - we are into curves and softshapes and the pyramid could be more impressive with slight adjustment.

Johns logo could be better if there was some 3 dimensionality since it would work better on business cards and black and white.

Please also look at some of the templates in the templates forum for Asymilate particularly from geofharries / palmer and see if the logo would fit in with the template

Many thanks - looking forward to your comments

I'm working on a logo that is pretty much a copy of the one I made for my template but is more simplistic so that it will work for print material etc. I'll post it very soon.

Hey there everyone :) I just heard from Asymilate and he is in South Africa at the moment. He gave me the unenviable task of telling you all who won.

The winner is....

V + E + R + T

Specifically for the logo attached to this message. I will announce the winner of the template contest in that thread. The winner of that contest is asked to use the winning logo for that design.

Congratulations V + E + R + T !
