(Admin code added by Palmer - 8791112P)

Hi everyone - I'm back with another project.

I need an updated layout for a brochure for a high school level vocational program. I am open to all ideas, I have all the photos in low resolution for comping as well as all the text in Word format. I also have a low res sample of what they are currently using. (Files are too big to upload here)

Specifications:
Size: 11 x 17 (bleeds accepted)
Prints full color 2 sides
School color is PMS 201
Will be tri-folded (approx. 5.6" x 11)
Prefer Illustrator, PageMaker or Quark formats

Deadline: 3/11/04 (could be extended)

If you have any questions let me know.

Thanks,

Rick

If you zip the files and send them Palmer he can make them available for download. I'm eager to begin this project.

By the way, you said that you have the photos availble for comping. Does this mean you have high-resolution to drop into the selected design? 300 dpi?

Feel free to email me the zip file and I will attach it to the post, Palmer won't be around for a few hours.

I too am eager to join, this is our 1st brochure design..I think

Yes, I have high resolution photos to drop in. Some may be small after resizing but they can be re-shot if we have to.

Hi, Rick.

Do you accept a 2 page PDF?

Palmer

I've put all the files Rick sent me in one zip file and attached it to the first post.

Good luck designers :)

You've got Illustrator haven't you? Rick did mention that it's one of the preferred formats ;)

Yes, Michael, I know :) I just wasn't sure if it's better to do it in Illustrator or InDesign, for it's a brochure after all.. ;)

Sorry, I would prefer not to use a PDF or InDesign.

Yeah, InDesign is a great program. :) I've been a Quark user for years, but I've recently been converted... Still have both layout programs though.

Just wanted to say I will be entering but I've come down with the flu/cold and been tucked up in bed over the weekend (god bless wireless ;) )

Looking good Kootch ;)

Glas your feeling better Michael.

Here's another layout. This one opens like a traditional trifold as opposed to the previous vertical layout above.

Just to let you know that I'm working on something and fingers & toes crossed should have it posted today.

(I'm working from home today and there are to many distractions might have to head to the office ;) )

At last some time to finish it, it's just been one of those day's million and one job's to do

Anyway it need's tidying up as I realised that the end date is the 11th so it was a quick layout ;)

Well, I know yesterday was the deadline for this project but if anyone else has interest I will leave it open.

I like all that I see so far. Thanks for the great work.

Mike (ElKootcho) - I like both of your designs but I would like to see them with a couple of edits. On your first one can you change the name on the front cover to read:

Wilbur H Palmer
Vocational-Technical Center
at Alvirne

Also, remove the date at the bottom. Change name on mailing panel to read the same as front cover excluding "at Alvirne".

In the second design could you change the name on the mailing panel & cover.
On the inside I would like to see the beige tint added to the background in the text area and replace the text with the copy from the first layout (shorter paragraphs). There is also a photo missing that needs to be added. It is the 3rd one from the right on the inside of the first layout.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Rick,

I'll get those changes to you shortly but a quick question first: I had three layouts posted so I want to make sure I modifiy the correct ones. I think you want to see changes to the two horizontal layouts (posted Mar 7 & 8) correct?

These two:

Ooops! Sorry. I forgot about the first layout, so I should have referred to the second and third layouts, not the first and second.

Here are the changes that you asked for. Let me know if you'd like to see more modifications.

I plan on work on another idea over the weekend, that's if you want me too or has Kootch beat me again ;)

Elkootcho - Sorry it took so long to get back to this. I am not the only one making decisions here.

On the last revision (Vocational 3_1 &2) we need to go back to the original heading (ALVIRNE HIGH SCHOOL Wilbur H. Palmer Vocational - Technical Center). There is a space, hyphen and space in it.

Phone number on front and inside should be (603) 886-1237. Fax on front should be (603) 595-1513.

On inside, change VOCATIONAL to: CAREER AND TECHNICAL

Can you change the background color to something more on the cream white color...maybe a little lighter tint as well.

On the "Plan for Your Future" panel, can you crop the center photo to take out the person on the left so that we can get more of the photo on the left in? If we need to we can crop the left side of the right photo as well.

Thanks in advance. Looks very nice.

Rick

Hi Rick, do you need this moved to the revisions forum or is Kootch's last revision the final one?
