March 9, 2003 IMPORTANT CHANGE:
As business starts sooner than expected the deadline has changed into March 14 2004 in stead of April 1, 2004 !!!
[SIZE=1]Hello Designers !
I am starting a new company for which I need a logo and I should be pleased if you want to enter this contest. Thanks in advance for sending your own masterpiece!
Company name:
Kemios
Description company:
Kemios will start its activities within a few months. The company will distribute a broad range of products which will be imported from all over the world.
Design:
A photographer's logo could contain a camera, a bakery's logo a bread etc.... As Kemios will distribute several totally different products, the logo should be abstract.
It has to express that Kemios is a modern, fresh, dynamic, flexible but professional and reliable company.
I will leave the colors up to you, however the logo should also look good in black and white/gray tones.
Preferably the symbol can also be used without the letters.
Application:
Logo for website, letter paper, labels etc.
Format:
EPS
(printershop must be able to use the format for envelops, letter paper etc.)

I like the colors you have used. The font you have used for Logo1 is too bold, it is difficult to read the name. Logo2 draws more attention.
Concerning Logo 2:
Maybe the size of the symbol should be increased. In case the logo is decreased, it is difficult to see the dots on the letter I. Maybe a symbol can be added so it can be used /recognised without using letters.
Thanks for your work.

I'm sorry, Harry, but I think it would be better for all of us if you post some small comments on every entry you get, cause we have to know whether we're heading in right direction or not.
Well, personally for me is very important to know your opinion about my entry.
Thank you!
All the best.

MIKE
Thanks for your tip.
ARTEMII
Sorry, but this is not really what I am looking for. I think there is no synergy between the logo and the font. Together they should be an unity.
ARTHOUSE
I have seen similar symbols for companies which name starts with a K. I prefer a more modern style. It looks a little bit too stiff.
MICHAEL
This is not the direction I want to go to, the K symbol is to edgy, I prefer more rounder shapes/corners.
The symbol does not have to be a K, an abstract symbol which does not look like a K is also fine.

Hi Harry,
Here are a couple of very simple ideas. The first concept represents a kind of "winking eye" smiley-face. Inspiration was emoticons, as well as just trying to put a friendly face on the logo.
The second concept represents the delivery or shipping of goods.
Let me know if you like either of the directions I've taken. I'll be happy to make any changes you'd like to see.
Thank you,
-Dave B)

Hi Dave,
Thanks for submitting your work. I like the "smiley face", it is simple but has a kind of positive charisma. It meets my requirements and it is a likely candidate.
Can you also show it in black and white and other color combinations ?
(I like the present color combination but I should like too see some more examples...)
The idea behind the second concept is good, though I do not like it as much as "the smiley face". It's difficult to explain why, it could be the outline of the lettertype.

Hi Harry,
Here are some color choices as well as a 1 color (black & white) version of the logo design. I've just very slightly pumped up the thickness of the "e and o" letterforms in the 1 color version in order to achieve the same effect that the colored versions have.
Let me know if you'd like to see any other tweaks or color variations.
Thank you,
-Dave B)

Hello DAVE
Thanks for posting your creation in different color variatons. Variatons 2 and 3 could also be an option. 1 and 4 are too bright.
ARTHOUSE
Logo 1 is not what I am looking for. However, Logo2 is going the right direction. The good thing is that the symbol can also be used without the letters. It is a little bit difficult to see the details of the symbol, I wonder how it looks if you blow it up ? Can you show mee ?
I also would like to see some variatons on Logo2 (per example using another letter type, changing the size of the fonts or a alteration to the symbol itselves). Thanks !

EAGLE
Thanks for submitting your creation. It it is not wat I am looking for.
I do not like the color combination of yellow and purple, besides the symbol is too much "Pokemon" style for me.
ARTHOUSE
Thanks for your entries. They have reached the final round.
CUSTOMB
Sorry, but your entries do not reach the second round.
RAJA
Your logo looks good but is not what I am looking for. BTW, your Portfolio is filled with nice creations). I do not know why, but the logo gives me the feeling Kemios is a car company or a oil/lube brand
.

Arthouse, thanks again.
Actually I liked the color combination Orange-Grey. It is only the font I am not sure about. Can you show Logo three in the orange/grey using the same symbol as before ? Can you play around with the width/space between the fonts ? Thanks in advance, Harrry

First of all I want to thank everone for sending their work. There can only be one winner.
Arthouse, congratulations. Your logo's 3 or 4, posted on March 12, is the winner. (We love both color combinations, did not make the final decission yet, but one thing is for sure: the winning creation has been made by you!)
For all the other digital artist: Soon I will post some work Contests
(ao the creation of a template for phpwcms and labels for cleaning materials).
Thanks again for your submissons !
