Hi,

I am looking for a simple geometric figure for my company, Sari Style. It needs to suggest a sari-clad woman, with arms up-raised, and twirling. I would like it to be near-symmetrical around the center-line. From each arm, I want different color sleeves (in a swath) to come down and cross the body, with one color on top of the other. I have attached a gif with the general idea. I like the colors of the Disclaimer Emblem at the bottom of DO's Post page (http://www.designoutpost.com/post.htm)

I want to use this for business cards, and a graphic that precedes the http in a browser, like the DO emblem for design outpost. Would like to end the contest March 15.

I am offering $100.

Kind regards,
Sari

Hi, Sari :)

Just to clarify one thing: do I understand you right that you are going to use this logo on business cards and web page icon, but these are not included in this particular contest?

Thanks in advance ;)

Cheers!

Bill: Great job! That's very close to what I had in mind. Maybe if you could also try purple and green with textures, and somehow add a swirling motion to the fonts.

Alex: Yes, the contest is just for the logo design. I was just explaining the usage.

Thanks!

Sari

arthouse: Nice job! I like the font style. Could we convey a little more motion in the image?

Hey there, here's my submission. It's a little rough, but the final version will, of course, be polished up. :D It plays a little with the concept of the 2 S's in Sari Style.

She maks a nice "I", too.

Pennyln: texture, was the wrong word. I was looking for something similar to the fill in this image: http://www.designoutpost.com/images/snail.jpg. Could you try that on the first image and tilt the spinning access by 15-30 degrees?

Arthouse: I like the image with the icon in front best and it's size relative to the text. Thats the last item on page one. I really like how it looks in motion! Could you try two things for me? Could you match the colors in http://www.designoutpost.com/images/snail.jpg in 1) solid and 2) with a similar fill using the bottom-of-page 1 image?

Flava: The colors on your top image are nice, and I like the recurring crescent theme ... I was wondering if the lower crescents could be fattened (?) so that the gap closes more and the bottom of the sari becomes a smooth curve. Keep in mind we want to suggest motion ... it seems that could be done with the shape of the hemline...

Bethi: I like the use of the different colors to indicate the folds. I also really like the shape of the Pantone 314 garment. I'm looking for something more geometric over realistic. Could you drop the hands, neck, and feet off, and put a swish in the bottom left of the purple piece to suggest a spin? Maybe complement the shape of the 314 color on that side! And drop the right body off so that the purple arm just blends into the other garment.

Design general: I like what you've done with the split-head and the alternation of colors. But the legs need to go. I want to suggest a woman in a sari spinning around perhaps you round out the bottom so there is no gap between the legs, and tilt the vertical axis a little.

Christian:
I like how the face looks up, the tilt and spin. It need to somehow suggest a sari a bit more.

SariStyle,
Is this illustrated look what you were going for?

How about something along these lines? Or do you prefer for me to go with something closer to the simpler design with the 2 S's idea?

Christian

This one still has one clear S.

Thank you everyone for all your great designs. With all the talent here, it's hard to select a winner. But I'm going with arthouse's design posted on Mar 10 2004, 08:01 AM.

Great job everyone and thank you Design Outpost for this wonderful venue of creativity!

Thanks Sari! Which of the two designs would like me to prepare for you? The top or the bottom from that post?

I have moved this to the revision forum, better late than never, right?
If the files have been prepared for download, and the client is happy, perhaps this thread should be moved again to the Archives.

Please advise.

It's done... the client has had the files for over a month.

Thanks cre8tor!
