I would like a very professional logo that exemplifies my landscaping company. I would like a tree or grass and some version of a commercial mower (I use Dixie Choppers and Walkers, but have been unable to find those pics in bmp). I would like to incorporate "Since 1990" in this logo and our motto "Customer Satifaction, Our Top Priority". I will need all formats. This logo will go on company letterhead, burgundy t-shirts, burgundy caps, and burgundy F-250 extended cab work trucks. Here are some links that I really liked:

Bill, could you change the colors. I would like for the logo to blend in with the burgundy background. Make SMITH LANDSCAPING all caps, and if possible, try to incorporate "Since 1990" somewhere in the logo. The mower is fine, maybe make the tree a little smaller. Nice.

Try to add a commercial type mower, similar to the one in the above post. Try using a different background color. I want it to be easily seen on my burgundy trucks. If possible, show me what the logo would look like on caps, shirts, F250 truck, and business cards. Thanks alot!

Bill, that looks good. Can you see what the sun in the background would look like in a yellow color. Also, can you stick that on a burgundy shirt and cap so I can get a better look. Stick in a phone number below the logo. Change the font a little. Make Smith bigger than landscaping. Look at this post by Mowling on Jan 28th @ 8:27 AM. I like that font and format.

Thanks
Artemii, change the mower color so that it is the same color as the tree. Also, try a different font with Smith and make it bigger than landscaping.
Big thanks to both you guys for coming thru for me. Tuesday morning is the deadline for my region yellow page advertisement. I will have to make a decision by tomorrow night.

Hi,
Heres a dramatic two-color version that would work well on your business system and apparel. The bold colors really pop off the burgundy background, as well as look good in black and white.
Please let me know if you would like to see any changes/edits.
Thanks!

This version of the logo would also do well as a yellow page ad, with very little modifications.

Arthouse, change the square design to an oval or something else. Use a more dramatic (maybe cursive, but readible) font for Smith. I love the mower, a true Dixie Chopper all the way. Try to incorporate a tree somewhere.
Design General, everythig looks good except the mower. Change the mower to something that resembles a commercial brand (Dixie Chopper or Walker). Also, change the font on Smith. I want something more dramatic.
Take a look at the way Mowling did "Hayden" in this post.

Try to do something with "Smith" that would have similar results.
Paula, I like the first one with the tree. Change the font on Smith a little. Put the logo on a burgundy background so I can see what it would look like. The one directly across from that on is stretched too long. Try to shorten it some and also put it on a burgundy background so I can see what it looks like. Just make changes to the top 2. Those are my picks out of the 4.

Arthouse, you are very close. If possible, make the mower a little smaller and the tree in the background a little larger. Looking good. Thanks.

Here you go :D
I also added a drop shadow under the mower where it hits the burgundy to help ground it a little better. When we reduced the size of the mower it started to look like it was floating.

Can you make the tree a little larger.? I would like to stress the landscaping part more than the mowing. If not, I will take your last edit and add it to my finals list. Great Job.
One more thing. I like the white font, but was wondering what it would look like in yellow or gold.

Gold would look great, especially against the burgundy. I was only keeping it to green and black to keep your printing costs down.
I also added several trees, which gives it the bordering effect I was trying to retain by having the tree stay inside the green field. What do you think?

Now, I don't know exactly what your F250 looks like, but I thought that you may like to see what the logo could look like on the side of the truck. ;)

And the winner is
Arthouse post at 4:46.
I would still like to talk about making the mower a little smaller. It looks good on the truck, but the mower stands out a little too much.
Thanks to everyone who participated. Arthouse, what are our next steps.

You just let the Administrator of this contest that it's over, and the contest will be moved to the revisions forum. THat's where you and I go over any changes. Once you approve of the logo, then I'll create color and black and white versions of the logo and send them to you. Then, you post that you've got the files, and the moderator closes the contest.
I've attached a smaller mower version of the logo.

Art, can you show me what the logo would look like on business cards, letterheads, caps, and shirts. I am a sole prop moving my business to an LLC. Would it be a big deal if I could get the logo with the LLC and without? Or better yet, if the LLC doesn't go through (I can't imagine why it wouldn't), can I just email you and get the logo without LLC. Let me know your thoughts.

I could probably set it up with both versions for you without too much trouble. Let me dig up some images for hats and shirts, and I'll set up a letterhead and BC for you.
Can you PM me your phnoe number and address so I can use them in the layout, or I can use made up ones if you like.

Art, just checking to make sure you received my numbers. Let me know if it will be possible to finish up by tomorrow. I need to email the logo to my yellow page representative. Thanks a lot.

I did get those... I don't know if we ever agreed... is the mower the right size on that last example? If so, I'll start formatting these and get them to you.

Yes, the mower looks fine to me. Everything is good. I just wanted to get a look at it on a business card, letterhead, etc. I use Quickbooks Pro and wanted to be able to format all my templates and invoices with this logo. Again, thanks.

For the yellow pages ad... are you doing a business card ad? Or will they be formatting it for you?

My name is Kirkland Smith. Will I be able to format the cards like I want. On the right hand side, I would like to list some of the different jobs my business does:
Lawn Maintenance
Sod Installation
Irrigation
Landscape Designs
Bush Hogging
Grading & Seeding
Commercial and Residential
Licensed and Insured
All these things I could add. I just want to make sure I will be able to.
The yellow page add has been formatted for me. She just needs the logo to add.

Would you like to just download the logos (I sent you a PM) and have someone local lay out the cards? That way, you can be there and make changes while they're being laid out. Otherwise, I can add in what I think I can get to fit.

I have received all files. Thanks Art for a wonderful job. I will be sure to mention you and this website to my fellow comrads who may be looking for their very own business logo.
