Hello,
We need a logo for a BLUE NILE GOLF AND RECREATION
Blue Nile Golf and Recreation is as the name express a golf and family recreation facility, located in East Africa. We are marketing the facility as a high-end (think spa) family recreation facility that offers an 18-hole golf facility and a family recreation.
The logo should include some of these key imageries: Family, Golf, Recreation, Blue Nile , Sun, and the outdoors.
Here is an image you could use; if you plan to draw people on your logo you could incorporate some aspect of this image on your logo it would be wonderful. For example you could sketch the wrap around the waist of the man to give it a distinct and original flair and incorporate some of the culture of the country
Once the logo is done, there will be an opportunity to work on the Full Stationary - Letterhead, Business Card and Envelope
Thanks guys ;)

Thanks for the posting guys… first I want to tell you all that the blue Nile is located in Ethiopia, so please no pyramids. Also, I will be marketed as a golf and Recreation facility, so make sure that those words are included on your logo.
Fabian
I like your concept;
1, I will add more people on your logo so that it represents the family aspect of the recreational facility
2, change your color from a deep blue green to a lighter blue
muvment
I like the way you wrote the name, and the color effect you added. However the drawing is to generic, need to add some personal touch to it.
Chris
I like what you have, but it is also a bit simple, I will need you to add something original to it. You need to remove the pyramids since the golf course will be in Ethiopia. Also you need to remove the insect on the other logo (I forgot what it is called) I know that is representative of Egypt. If you want you can add the picture of an Ibex, which is indigenous to Ethiopia. I like your choices of colors

By the way, do you like the fonts and colors or should they be reworked?

You have the right concept, but I would like something a bit more sophisticated than that. Check out this logo and do something similar to this. Maybe with the father and son
Thanks

Loved your father and son idea.......here's a son taking he's first shot with the proud father looking on.

Nice job man, you jumped right into it. I like the concept very much, the color of the flag was a nice touch. Can you give me some other fonts, I am thinking about something very spa like.

I like what you have, but I don't like the colors and the fonts. Please give me some color and font variation, closer to what you had in your previous image, a font that is slimmer. How about making the father wear something the resembles the traditional cloths, as I have uploaded in the first page

Carl...
What's up, hit me with something
How about using the Golf and Recreation letters to represent the recreation aspect of the facility. You could make the letter O a basketball and the O of the golf as a ball. If you can come up with other creative idea to express that aspect, please include it
Thanks man

we need to change the ibex pic.... my partner has reservation about the concept.
I like what you did for fidelity capital group.... the first pic of the tree. you could maybe do something similar to that one. Check out the upload and see if you can come back with something similar.

Cadi,,, I see that you are online.. Thanks for the posting, I like what you have if you could now give me different fonts that would be good. How about a font that has the same size in all the letters.
thanks
AK,
Here are a couple different font treatments. I enlarged the treatments without the player icon, but included a smaller full logo for each one as well.

Will you please respond to MOZ art

B) The name and water graphics needs to be changed; however the middle part of your logo I can work with. I like to keep it simple; I want it look more like a high end SPA logo. Take a look at the uploads I have made, if you could derive something off that that would be cool
Thanks
CBaker14
I like the logo on the right hand side, it is clean and simple. However, please take out the blue guy, I looks a bit out of place. Can come up with something to replace the blue guy, it can be another person or something that represent Blue Nile Golf and Recreation. Take a look at what Carl has done; he is in the right direction
Thanks

Carl...
Thanks for the changes…. Can you give the man on the logo a bit more definition. Make him ware a golf cap so he does not look too much like Jesus with halo behind him. Can you also change "and" to the symbol "&" to see how it looks.
thanks

Too much black on black, I really need you to make it simpler and minimalist. We are going to have this on banners and billboards. Try and do something closer to what I uploaded but with your own touch. Come up with something less picturesque and more symbolic. Keep the font you have…
Another good example, is what Eagle has done on page 2, he kept it simplistic. But replace his image with something that represents golf
Thanks
AK,
I will work on the hat thing, but I must warn you, the man is looking either directly away from you or directly at you, depending on your perspective. He might look strange with the bill of a cap in the wrong place for a golf swing. I will expiriment moving the sun slightly to take the halo effect off.
*edit* LINE REMOVED
Thank you,
Carl...
Thank you for the feedback, I'll rework it for you

I added the hat, it doesn't look all that bad. I did move the sun to include part of the hand to remove the halo effect.

Carl thanks for the changes.... I like what you have overall but I am worried that once we enlarge the image it may not look as good as when it is small. I really need you do add more definition to the silhouette of the man. Let me know if you agree on that remark. Once done please give post and enlarge picture of the man
Thanks
All the graphics will be in Vector format. There will be no loss of resolution, regardless of the size of the logo.
As far as the interpretation of the silouette, the idea would be you would always use the logo at the correct perspective - meaning you would want it produced on whatever material at a size that is consistent with the way you prefer to view it. For example, if the logo were on a billboard, it would be huge, but it's relationship to the viewer would be the same as if they were looking at it on a webpage.
The concept of this logo is the silouette. If you prefer a more detailed man, a more literal translation of a golfer, then I will go back to the drawing board.
As far as my opinion, I think the more detail you give a human form in a logo, the more illustrative or cartoonish it becomes. If your company is truly a Spa and that is the clientele you market to, illustrative and cartoonish characters will be out of place in your logo. Again, my opinion - hence the direction I took designing with a silouette. Natural, Simple and Clean is what I see when I think Spa.
Of course, you must feel comfortable with your choice, and if the silouette isn't the right look for you, I understand.
Per your request, here is the largest size image that I can post via this forum.
Thanks!
Carl...
Here is the man alone, even larger.

Hi Cadi,…. Things where a bit crazy over here in seattle, I go a bit sidetracked. My partner and me want to add more images that represent the recreational part and kiddy play area of the business. We want to add two images in the same style as the golfer. The images will be located on the side of the golfer, one on the right hand side and the other on the left hand side. The images needs to be representative of the business, so you could have a tennis player on one side and something that represent a kiddy play aria on the other side.
Thanks
Attached is a link to the zip file with the final graphics.
I added the extra elements into the logo. There will be no more revisions to this.
Included in the zip file are .AI, .PSD (Layered), .CDR (Native Corel), .JPG, .GIF, .PNG, .TIF (High Res)
The font used is Latin XCn BT. It is available from myfonts.com or some other font website.

When you have selected a design as the winner we will move the contest to the revisions forum for any minor adjustments.
We would class these as minor adjustments:
> Colour changes
> Re-size of graphics
> Maybe slight positioning of text
What you were asking was a little beyond what’s required and that was to have 2 new graphics introduced. Carl & ourselves were under the impression that as you had selected his design then you were satisfied with what he had designed and maybe the only revisions may have included what I indicated above. Carl has kindly added the graphics but has stated there will not be any revisions on them as it would be exceeding what we class as minor revisions.
Sorry but hope you understand.
Michael
