Dear Designers,
This job qualifies as a "rush"
The client needs to see some good 'ideas' (not the finished product)
by 9am tomorrow (EST)
We'll keep the contest open until we can decide upon the actual winner, which probably means the end of next week.
The client is called 'Global Medical' - they make a unique line of hospital equipment, but they don't want a logo with 'medical' elements in it.
The enclosed logo
<img src='http://www.pipeland.com/globalmedical.jpg' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
is what they're using. It's not bad, but they would like something a bit more abstract/creative, but not TOO funky. Their aim is tech-savvy, professionalism, integrity, clear/concise.
The split global in the 'O' isn't a terrible concept - if you can make it spiffy, you can use it, but it's your call.
There are a few DO logos they've liked - Hypnosis's idea from Excelerate, is one of them.
The color scale they are looking for is blue/purple area, but feel free to add other secondary colors/elements.
We're adding more to the pot b/c of the rush job.
A similar company can be found at: http://www.kci1.com
Thanks,
MK

My first concept...
The abstract design is that of a medical tool, but you wouldn't know it if I didn't tell you... So forget I said anything, OK? ;)

... or this"g" that I used for a private client that ended up not starting the business he had planned on (yes I ended up eating the job).

Try incorporating a different color in there - maybe a black or bluish shade.

As in - 2 colors or just change the color?

Just in case, I changed the color and added black.

*EDIT* sorry fuse didn't notice you had the lighting effect.

Nice, Fuse.
BlackSpot - Along those lines, but made the 'medical' font less bubbly.

Sleaker still, maybe capital letters and less bold.

Just went with the same font spaced differently and smaller.

See if you can find something different for 'medical' - maybe slightly different font, gray with a shaded background
Just wanting to give the client some options on all ideas.

Hey everyone,
Thanks for helping out on short notice ;) . We often don't know for sure what our clients are going to like and the many different ideas help a lot. Our client has narrowed the contest winner down to two.
Flava (posted march 17th at 5:39) - the client liked this design but would like to try some other colors. For example, in the main logo let's try it all in that blue instead of "medical" in black. I think that we want to stick to one color. 5 or 6 examples in the same color family as the ones used but all the same color would be nice. Also, can we try both words on the same line just to see what it looks like? Thanks !!!!
Raja (posted March 18th at 11:07) - the client liked this one too, but commented that it looks very familiar, where was it used before? Anyway, let's try different colors too, (stay in the blue / purple family) and let's try "medical" on the same line and maybe the same color. the client said that they like the font too, but would like to just see what a variation might look like. As many variations as that seem appropriate would be appreciated.
If I get these back today, I should have a winner by tomorrow.
Thanks again everyone !!!!! Nice work !!!!!
(PS- keep an eye out for our other postings now and in the future) :)

No problem.... I just need it by 9 am Wednesday

I'd be happy to make further revisions :)

Okay, the client is still undecided. they would like to see the following :
Flava - they like the image of the O in Global but they aren't sold yet on the color or layout. I am open to suggestions for changes. They aren't being anymore specific than that. :bash:
Raja - They would like to see the first image of the your submission using red instead of purple. (Let's try that and one with a richer blue).
Any more variations that both of you give is appeciated. I told the client that they must pick after this submission so, if I get these by Sunday night (10pm), we will have a final answer on Monday. (for sure !!!!!)
Thanks !!!!!!

The client has decided that RAJA is the winner.
We thank ALL of you for your submissions, and for helping us with a "rush" job.
Raja,
We have some tweaks we'd like to see.
I'll share them in a direct email to you.
Thanks,
MK
