Church Furnishings and Accessories- $100

Hi all... Here's a new contest for you to scratch your heads over. I have the gut feeling that this one will be either really easy or pretty hard... Here goes...

The company is named Church Furninshings and Accessories, Inc. Basically, they are the people you call when a church wants to buy church furniture (pews, pulpit furniture, chairs, tables, baptistries, steeples, etc. etc. etc.).

Their current web site is www.pewsplus.com (http://www.pewsplus.com). I'm building a new site for them and need a new logo to go along with it.

I'm thinking the logo should be the business name in a serifed font with some kind of treatment applied to it... alongside some kind of branding symbol that somehow relates to a church (maybe a steeple?). I know this is a lot of text to work with. Sorry.

The winning logo will be more classy than jazzy, more corporate than cutting edge. We're not set on the blue in the current web site. Try whatever colors you think will meet the need. We'll form the color scheme of the web site out of the colors in the logo.

Technical requirements are the same as all my contests: It has to look good in one color. Use as many colors as you like in the final logo. But, like all good logos, it has to look good in black and white.</li> Should be vectored art. </li> Final product should be deliverable as an AI or EPS file. I have Illustrator CS, so versions shouldn't be an issue.</li>Contest ends on Wednesday, March 31, 2004.

Thanks for the quick entry. I like the font and the symbol. Is there maybe a way to integrate the symbol with the test a little so it's not standing all by itself? It looks good there, I'm just wondering what could be done with it...

Julie... I haven't gotten feedback from the client yet, but your color entry looks good to me. Nice concept... I like the colors... The client is not sure what he wants just yet (you know how that goes). If you have any more concepts, please feel free to post.

I'm not to keen on the curtains. But I like your concept of the fish in the H. Try a few font and color variations with that one.

The concept is good... but the colors need tweaking. Think more traditional. Also, let's try a different font. Maybe something different with the cross? I'm not sure I like how it just seems to "be there." I hope that is understandable.

Thanks for the revisions Frank... I like it much better without the screwdriver. But something about the logo still doesn't sit right with me. Maybe it's just too clip-artish? I just don't know. I wish I had something more to give you.

Mowling... how about an adjustment of your post on page 1 that uses something different in the circle? Steeple? Church? The client wasn't keen on the rendering of the pew arm that's there now...

Julie... The design and fonts are great. I personally like the original coloring (olive and the mauve-ish). The client would like to see a couple of other color combinations. One of these would be blue with a kind of tan. And if you can come up with one other combination, that would be great.

Julie... one more time... Keeping with the color combination in the 4th of the 4 logos above... Let's try one more thing...

Invert the colors in the background... make the background the darker blue and the circles within it the lighter blue. Also, make the lines within the cross more subtle, like the 3rd of the 4 logos above.

Julie... I just got e-mail from the client that was full of ALL CAPS and lots of exclamation points.

Suffice it to say that he LOVES the final logo you just submitted. You did EXCELLENT work on this one. Too bad Palmer doesn't have a feedback system like eBay for people to rate designer experiences...

If you will, please e-mail me the final logo in color and black and white as an AI or EPS.

Also, what is the serif font used in the logo??? It looks like a Garamond of some kind???
