Tysfjord taxi logo - $90

Hi again folks,

My friend needs a nice new logo for his taxicab company, and he has a pretty clear vision as to how it should look. Please refer to the attatched image for details... :)

Some key points:

Applications and formats: This logo will mainly be used for car branding, so it needs to be clearly visible when placed on the cabs' side doors and/or windows. Other applications are business cards, stationary etc - please provide high quality .psd/.eps formats that can be exported to various sizes and formats.

Size: As indicated on the attatched drawing, the logo should be designed - for car placement purposes - to a width of about 50 cm (20 inches) and height of around 20 cm (8 inches). Also, please incorporate the company's phone number below the logo itself (small phone image and 8 digit phone number, which we'll have to edit later since the number is not yet defined) making the total height about 25-30 cm/10-12 inches.

General design requests: As per the drawing, my friend would like "Tysfjord" to be black in color, and the "taxi" part to be in red. "Tysfjord" should be in a traditional/old-fashioned/handwriting-like font; and stretch all the way across.

The two T's are obviously essential elements, if you are able to come up with a way to make this part look nice, that would be great. Also, please note that the A in "taxi" didn't come out too well on the drawing; it should look like a normal A :rolleyes:

Finally, please include a grey shadow or border around all logo elements. This is in order to make it more visible when placed on a colored background, and this border will be made reflective on the stickers intended for side door placement.

Any additional ideas that you may have for enhancing this logo would be greatly appreciated, please don't hesitate to bring in new ideas! :)

Nice to see so many participants :)

Here are some comments and suggestions from my friend at Tysfjord Taxi:

Ratbaggy: Could you try "Tysfjord" in another font that resembles handwriting, along with slightly larger T's? Also, please try without the shadow - only the grey edge.

beatz: Nice idea - please see if you can stretch it out a bit into a more rectangular shape. As for the shadow, please substitute it for a greyish edge around all sides of the letters.

MOZ: Please try a bit larger T's, along with somewhat smaller "AXI" - perhaps providing a tad of "air" between Tysfjord and Taxi.

Mowling: Very interesting idea; could you try cutting down on the grey a bit (making the grey edge narrower). Also, a version without a grey edge around the "Tysfjord" part would be nice to see.

dynagirl: Looks real sharp; please try to pull the "Tysfjord" a litter closer to the "taxi" part, in order to cut down on the empty space between.

EVERYONE: A version where the grey edge only applies to the "taxi" part would be much appreciated, in order to see what looks best.

The designs that are commented on here are the ones my friend likes the most, however all designs are greatly appreciated, and new entries or redesigns are more than welcome!

here's an update:

the font for the "ysfjord" part has been changed. I have maintained the outline around the entire thing as the Tysfjord gets a little lost as an entire word (due to different fonts), and having "TAXI" only outlined adds to this confusion (as the Tysfjord "T" is below the Taxi "T") hope this makes sense, any request, let me know.

Hi folks,

Mowling - Would you try the last version without the grey edge around the "tysfjord" and a slightly thicker grey edge around the rest (somewhere in between the first and second design)? Also, please see if you could fit in the 8-digit phone number below (format: 22112211). A small phone graphic followed by the number would be nice.

Here are some requests for the final design (modifications to your last submission):

As for the grey edge, please use a narrower one around "tysfjord" without any white in between. The rest should be kept as is.</li> The ring; please make a tad of space where the red and black colours meet (like in your #2 design).</li> The phone number; format should be "123 45 678", with no dots or dashes. Also, please add a narrow layer of grey around (just like on the "tysfjord").</li>
