Mike (naramation) is giving me a hard time about the P.O. design. Any comments from you "professional" designers will be appreciated :P

It's supposed to be somewhat similar to D.O. because it needs to tie in with the whole Outpost Network of sites that are in the works. So what do you think? Also do you have any suggestions for the left side? I will probably have a link to current bids "contests" on the forum like I have on this site's home page.

Thanks in advance :)

I think it looks good BUT the one thing that I personally feel spoils it is the thick black line you have used around the logo and inbetween the navigation links. I would reduce the line to two pixels around the logo and 1 pixel between the navigation links.

Why not go for the exact same look as this site and just change the logo to say Programming instead of Design? If the two sites are linked, why not make them look like two parts to the same site!

Well I am by no means a "professional" designer (especially since I am posting contests!) but if you go with the same look on ProgrammingOutpost as you have for DesignOutpost why not just change the background colors used throughout the site and forum? I think a similar look and feel is perfectly fine especially since they are based off the same idea.

DesignOutpost = tans, light blues, etc.
ProgrammingOutpost = reds, grays, etc. (or whatever)

Be pretty easy to use a different "skin or css" but keep the navigation and functionality the same in order to create a family of sites.

Just my two cents from the peanut gallery.

What's with the marbles? Are those the ones you lost making this design?

Seriously, gimme a keyboard there or something instead :D

I agree, the black stroke is a bit too heavy, and I'm not a fan of the heavily vignetted images
