I'm looking for a logo for Cross-Spectrum Labs (http://www.cross-spectrum.com), my acoustical consulting company.
I'm looking for a logo that visualizes "sound" and "engineering." I work on a variety of projects including noise and vibration control, room acoustics, home theater, etc - I hope that gives an idea of the image I want to project. Because I perform some work for Federal and state agencies, I don't want a logo that's too playful.
I'm not married to any particular color scheme, but I would like to avoid red if possible. I would also prefer that the logo has a horizontal orientation. I definitely prefer simple and elegant rather than something overly complex, but I'll have an open mind.

Bethie: interesting concept. I would rather have the "Cross-Spectrum" emphazied instead of the "labs". I would like to see it more horizontal. I like the colors.
Mowling: Wow. I love it. Simple and elegant.
BTW, it should be a bullet between "Cross" and "Spectrum" instead of a dash.
Thanks guys, good job.

Good morning, here's mine with the edits you suggested, as well as another "look" to the logo section.

I'm happy with the submittals so far, so I'm changing the deadline from April 16 to April 2. If anyone else has a design please post before then.

Hi there.
I like open minds! ;)
Ok, it's playful but it still retains a contemporary, but more importantly (in your field of business) 'corporate' statement.
Let me have your thoughts... <img src='http://www.eagleimagery.co.uk/smil3y/eaglesmile.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />

Or maybe in blue? <img src='http://www.eagleimagery.co.uk/smil3y/eaglebrow.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
My Entry. A literal translation of the words Cross and Spectrum.

Geez, I go away for a couple of days, and everyone decides to join the party.
So far everyone has done a good job, but my favorites thus far are (in no particular order):
- carlos(esparza)
- cadii
- Raja
- Mowling
I like Eagle's design, but I think it would be better suited for a recording studio/mixing studio logo. Keep it in the vault, you'll definitely find some takers.
Muvment's design is nice, but it's too reminiscent of the Napster logo.
In all cases I would like the words "Cross", "Spectrum" and "Labs" to be the same color, but the "bullet" can match the color of the logo (if the logo is a different color).
Drat, the decision keeps getting harder...

Great job everybody,
I'm going to go with Mowling's design (with a minor revision).
Thanks a lot everyone, you came up with some great designs, especially for the price!

The only revision is that I would like the "Labs" to be the same gray as "Cross" and "Spectrum."
Leave the bullet blue.

Great...thanks Anechoic.
Where would you like me to send the files? Also, is there any specific format that you would like besides .ai, .eps, .jpeg & .gif?
thanks,
Matt
