I am starting a new lawn care, weed & pest control and irrigation business. Don't laugh that is my last name and I would like to play with what it implies without being offensive. I want the logo to be professional yet playful. In other words I want the business to stick in peoples heads but I don't want them to be embarrassed to have my service vehicle parked in front of their house. I know that this is playing with a fine line but I have confidence that we will be able to have fun with this. I have seen and liked some of the other lawn care logos that have been posted in previous forums with mascot type figures: dragonflies, bees, frogs and animated grass blades. I'm sorry I can’t seem to figure out how to paste the URL's in this tread.

CONTEST IS FOR $100.00 AND ENDS APRIL 11, 2004.

Like the second one can you increase the fade in the word stoner's (black at the botom then fadeup) also can you show it with the words strait so I can see it both ways.

But where is the peace sign or the dead head symbol on the micro bus?
Like the grass and font style, need to play with some color maybe ty-die the bus and use one of the colors for the font. Dont go partridge family on me though ok.

Glad you like it! I was keeping the logo to 2 color for printing cost-effectiveness, but I can always send up a 4-color version too.

It is to bad that if I had this on the side of my truck I would be folowed by DEA and probably get arrested, and my clients would expect me to deliver clippings instead of haul them away. I'm 30 years old and was a product of the late 60's early 70's lifestyle but my parents life must still be living in me because I love the LOGO!! I cant use it (at least not in public but it could go inside the shop B) ) but I still love it.

Ok enough of that the only vice I've ever had said Marlboro on it and came in a pack of 20 and you can purchase them at any 7-11, and I quit that in aug. of last year but with my last name I cant help but use it a little to my advantage in the pursuit of the American dream. Cant wait to see what else you come up with!

Thought you'd get a kick out that! The art pieces are from an actual logo I did for our towns drug enforcement unit. They even had needles and flames.

Just what I was thinking. You need to add the word "service" it is part of my DBA name. The glasses are perfect they are that bomber style cover my bloodshot eyes cuz I'm a little stoned glasses.

Well, that was more to let you know that once it goes to one color or black and white, the sun gets lost, because it's the contrast that brigs it out. I'll post a revision in a second.

We like it with the sun and I also like having the options of 1, 2 or 4 color so if you win the contest we would like to have it formated for all three. :tup:
So we will stick with the one with the sun you and if you have any other ideas we would sure like to see them.

PS - My fire chief works for a sign shop so the cost isn't an issue.

I really appreciate you trying to mix the two but do you think it is a good idea to mix fire and destruction with yard beautification and growth. Sorry I don't mean to be so blunt with this I know you worked hard. I like how your mind works with the playing with my last name theme maybe you can find a new background for the first one that’s rated more PG than X. Your first one is still my favorite it’s like looking at PLAYBOY, Its BAD but it's soooooooo good!

I am happy with what we have from everyone! wouldn't change a thing. Thought I would see more entries. Thats ok though it is quality not quantity that counts, and what has been submited by all has been quality. If I were a rich man I'd declair all of you the winners and award all of the designs. :tup:

The time has come!,

First I want to say this has been a fun experience for us! The designers that are assembled here are truly talented and I hope all of you do very well because you deserve to! The logo is the first part of any advertising and in most cases I would say the key to a businesses success. The designers here are in my opinion a part of my business team and I am grateful to you all! I will make sure my business lives up to the standard of quality and care you’ve shown in all of your designs.
Now that I've blown enough smoke :lol: lets get on with our decisions.

Honorable/dishonorable Mention: MOZ Version 1
In a more understanding world-------Its still my behind the scenes favorite! If one day I decide to turn criminal or the laws change this is the logo for my new horticulture business. ;) :tup:

Just so you know this is my wife’s favorite. The Little Stoned Rock mascot is the best! It makes people laugh which means you got in there head and that’s what I need is to get in there heads so they will think of me when they need lawn care.

Aaron you had a stroke of genius!!! The logo is great! It is exactly what I asked for something that played with my last name with ought an offensive or illegal implication.
