I need a logo for WhatDoISell.com. It's a site for product sourcing for eBay sellers, so I want the logo colors to reflect the eBay look and feel. An example is http://www.platinumpowerseller.com - however, I don't want to use the same font, the uneven letters or the "glow". I'd like the logo to be the words What Do I Sell.
The site is currently under construction, but you can see the color scheme. (http://www.memberstar.com/members.php?SiteIdToDisplay=72&PM=m) Yes, I have a really ugly placeholder there for now.
The logo needs to fit in the 400 x 60 space.
After we have settled on a design I'll want 3 variations in 2 formats (one for print, the other for web):
logo only
logo with tagline (Your source for profitable products) under it
logo with URL under it
I anticipate this will be fairly quick for all of you experienced designers. Thanks in advance!
Jeanette

Hi,
here is a suggestion :)
Thanks,

Doug -
I like the two on the right. Here are a couple of requests.
On the bottom right, would you make I green and sell red?
Can you use the font from the bottom right and use it with the happy face in the upper right?
Not sure I like the dots after the words - other possibilities?
Thanks!

Love your sense of humor!
I'm not fond of the uneven letters. Any other ideas?

I do like the idea, but it won't fit in my 400 x 60 space. Would make a great business card or other type of logo.
I'll keep it in mind. Meanwhile, do you have any "longer" ideas?

I like the emphasis on the Do, but the pricetag recalled a clearance sale.
Thanks.

I don't think the colors will work with the site.
I like the way the "I" has been emphasized. But I don't care for the black outline around the font.
I would also like to see space between the letters.
All in all it is not what I am looking for. But I certainly appreciate your submission.

Thanks for your new submissions. I'm still leaning toward the original smiley you did.
So would you take the original smiley, change the dots to the ones below it, then make sure the whole thing fits the 400 x 60 size?
Thanks -

Can we shorten the dots to just a few. Feedback from our advisory board keep telling us they would like fewer dots.
Thanks.

Interesting item for ALL of you DESIGNERS -
Overwhelmingly women have preferred the smiley face logo that Doug did. Men have preferred the one with the gavel that dynagirl did.
Just thought you'd like to know - it's been consistent.

Thanks for the new stuff. I like these much better - especially the one in the middle. Nice font and color combo.
Right now we're leaning strongly toward Doug's smiley logo, so not sure how much more effort you want to put into it.

My client likes the one with the shadow behind it. But she thinks the font is too hard to read, because is a bit too stylized for a business site.
I like the one with the outline - but one of the men on the advisory group said it was hard to read.
Thanks for your submissions. I appreciate your flexibility.

I like the spacing between the letters and the clean look of the logo, but I don't
think the font is right for the site. I think a less artistic font is required for this because it is a business site.
Thanks for your submission -

Good looking - very classy. I like it.
Would you give me a version with ebay colors, the tilted cube and the tagline? It feels like it needs to "pop" off the page more.
Thanks! Look forward to seeing it.

Hi! I changed the colors (on the box too) I can either put it back the way it was or try any other ideas you may want to see. I also tried it w/ the font bolder.

We Have a **Winner**
After several user polls, lots of input, much agonizing and some great submissions, we have decided to go with dziner's top design from April 5's post. So Shelly, we'll move to the Revisions forum, as I understand it.
Everyone - thank you so much for your very creative designs and your energy. This was our first time to use Design Outpost, but it won't be our last. It's been a great experience - and I appreciate your willingness to re-submit and work with us.
Thank you!!!

We like the top one, with the tilted cube in the colors.
The logo needs to fit in the 400 x 60 space for the website.
We need 3 variations in 2 formats (one for print, the other for web):
logo only
logo with tagline (Your source for profitable products) under it
logo with URL under it
plus a black and white for print.
For the web, jpg is preferable, 72dpi is fine; for print, I'll leave it to you to tell me. The client is a Windows user, so TIF, I think. Naturally if you can provide the illustrator or photoshop originals it will be helpful, although we'll probably come back to you for any additional work we need. It's just good insurance to have them.
You can FTP or email them. Let me know your preference and I'll send info.
Thanks!

sorry for the delay. I just remembered I'd never gotten an update from the forums. We're working to finalize 3 sites, so this was a piece in the cog. And meanwhile I had a new grandbaby, so life is a little frantic.
BTW - my email is cates@techtamers.com - would love to stay in touch.
I've picked up the zip. Do I need to do anything to be sure you get paid?
Thanks for all your work. I'll check over all the pieces and if we need anything else, I'll post it here.

We need to get a version of the web_tag gif with a white background. The transparent is showing thru with our background on the page.
Thanks!
