BatCave.net has been hosting websites for FREE since 1997.
Contest winner will get $100
We think it is time that we offer a new look to our visitors, and we have had much success with contest posted here.
www.batcave.net – current layout will not be used with the new logo, so color scheme is wide open. (keep it professional)
What we do not want to see, is any kind of knock off from BatMan (our friend from Warner bros. would not like that) so no men is tights for this logo. ;)
We like fun logos but something that is very catchy and crisp.
Other than that it is upto you to make the look “wow” us.
Thanks in advance to all the designers.
Keep in mind once the contest starts we might add color restrictions as the entries start to come in.
Thanks!
AJC

I think 7 days is plenty long enough for this project, we might close before that if the right entry is made.

Due to all the current contest, lets set 4/10/04 as the deadline date, but once we find the right logo we might call the winner.
as a semi-famous boxing ref might say, "Let's get it on!"

I have created a few designs, though, this one below looks really clean and clear to me. I has a strong impact. Also I hope it`s a good`n proffesional looking mark at once. I have used the futura font for its sharp shapes which I have customized to make it coherent with the mark as a whole. As for the colours, I always start with black & white, which seem to fit here perfectly, though if you wish, I might work on that. This is it for now.
I am looking forward to your opinions.

FINALLY, another entry....
p_karetko, kinda plain, and a bit "tall"
we will need it to be able to be sized very very small for our network advertising, font is nice though.
try a few things different with it..
oh and it shouold be batcave.net
not .com

oh now that one is very nice!
I like the 2nd on a lot.
Can you size the logo and text down. (perhaps putting them side by side) to shrink as small as you can and it still be readable?
I need a sized logo with 25 pixels high, for our navigation bar.
NICE color also.
p_karetko
04-02-2004, 05:20 AM
As You wish... There are two sizes with 70 px , and 30 px high. I think You should still be satisfied with the readability. Cheers :)

clever way to tie in the bat, our only worry is how does it look sized down to fit in the top navigation bar we spoke up before.
no more than 30 pixels high..

WOW
this is NICE!
can we see the smaller version without the blue behind the bat?
so it would be only the bat and the word batcave
bat can be in one color and cave can be another... VERY VERY NICE though, my personal favorite so far. different color schemes also to see which one looks best?
Moz, you brought it alright, only thing is it does not size down very well.

Nice – I think the main thing is the color is blah. Try red, not to bright, but a deep red.
dynagirl
Wow! Your 2 are my personal top 2 logos here!!! BUT, hehe I am not the only one voting from our company on the winner, so we will have to see, maybe get some dark red involved with the logo, with “Bat” in black… and Cave in the same color of red. All and all, I really like where you took the vision for this logo! GREAT job.
arthouse
Sounding like a broken record, we would like to see this in different colors, including red. Orange is just not doing anything for us. But your LOGO is NICE NICE!! Will be a finalist.
piece_of_mind
I know the colors are not the same but look here:
http://www.posternow.com/imagem/b/b12654.jpg
I fear this sort of logo would create issues that BatCave.net is not willing to hassle with. NICE THO…
cre8or
the art in this logo is by far the best in the contest, but unforuantly we see 2 things that hurts the chances on this logo…
#1 for it to look really good the logo has to be WAY WAY big.
#2 Sized down it just doesn’t look good at all.
Great job though!
To all!!
We are leaning toward a darker red and black… or darker blue and black logo right now.
Keep them coming we love to see how people vision the appearance of our business.
Thanks!

hello
can you edit the logo to match this color scheme first... to see if it is how we want it?
http://www.frobo.com/graphic_work/batcave/batcave4.gif
the top red color I think.
also sized to be 50 pixels high for the site logo..
and sized as small as it can go and still look neat.. with perhaps just "BC" or "BCN" beside the icon.. maybe "BC" the ".net" sideways..
that 2nd one will be for the top navigation bar... we will call the "BatBar"

I think 20pixels is about the smallest it can go and still be readable, but I've got a 30pxof the abbreviated version also for comparison.

I think when we size the logo down we should not include the red under the bat..
which will allow us to leave the bat a bit larger
Can I get this logo in a PSD format (and including the font file)
Also is there anyway I can get it in a Paint Shop Pro format to open and edit using PSP? I personally do not use photoshop.
If not that is fine but if so that would be GREAT!!!!!!!!
Tonya

Like this?
<img src='http://www.frobo.com/graphic_work/batcave/batcave6.gif' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
Did you have a preference on the 2 that are 20px size or do you just want me to include both? Let me know if all black is fine on those little ones or if you'd like me to make any parts of them red. Once you get back to me about these few things, I'll get the files together for you.
The logo is made in Adobe Illustrator, so I'll include that (.ai) and also a PhotoShop format (plus some GIFs and JPEGs). I don't have Paintshop Pro and don't seem to have any way to export for that, though. Is there another format that might work for you, such as TIFF or EPS (or maybe you can import .ai into PSP)? I can export a lot of formats, just not Paintshop.
The font I used is called Emblem (Regular), and you can download it here:
