Hi again...
Deadline for this is Monday 4/5/04, customer is in a rush for this.
This logo is for a company that will be selling all kinds of dog collectables.
Currently their main product is a realistic dog head on a post. The post fits into a person type body and is very interchangable. Many other products will also be considered for sale on this ecommerce site.
They like the look of a paw with the business name. Another thing they mentioned was a cute looking dog peering around the business name.
They favor light brown for the dog.
Many of the pet sitting contests here fancied them quite well, but none stood out enough to provide as information here.
Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Hello! What is the name of the company to be included in the logo? 'Canine Collectables'?

Hello. Here`s my first approach.
I thought it would be fun having "easily sketched " dog as logo which could look funny and in some way unusual. I hope I have made it.
The font used here is famous "meta" which fits the mark nicely, as well as italic one - you might choose.
Waiting for your opinions,
Best Regards,
Piotr Karetko

p_kareto....
I think they are looking for more than this.... something that portrays the collectability of the items they will be selling.
Matt Ward

moz, that's nice...
could I see the backgroung in some other colors?
Can you put them all as one post, so when I email it, it is managable.
Try a light brown, a shade of red close to brown...possible some others please.

Thanks, I`ll definately go with paw itself. It`s a good thing for a nice and simple mark. I added some colours to symbolize wide and diverse palette of collectables.
Hope this one hits number 10 :)

Thanks! All together! Remember to tell the client the dog hasn't been polished up yet . Will do that when creating the vector art if I win this contest! ;)

Got some feedback from the customer today...
Customer will be putting this logo onto bags when orders are made. Cavas type bags, screenprinted. If you could show a bag with your logo it would help visualize what the final product would look like. This is not a requirement, but it sure would help the customer decide on a logo.
MOZ
Customer feels that the dog may be too cartoony...seems that the binoculars are the issue here...perhaps he shouldn't appear to be in shock (eyes popping).
Collectables should be spelled with an "A" not an "I"
P Karetko
Your rainbow paw entry....customer liked the location of the paw, but felt that the logo was too simple, just not enough. Try adding some additional things to the logo.
ChristianSanfiel
They liked your idea...couple things...could you find a place for a doghouse...we talked about where...here are a couple location possibilities.
- use the N that the dog is currently sitting on
- put the doghouse on the side flank the other side with the dog
could you also show a smaller font on the canine...just a bit smaller.

I'm trying to incorporate the idea of bones coming out of the doghouse, as if the dog is collecting them. :D I'll have that soon.

:( Terribly sorry, had misplaced the folder for this project so never went back to it. I tried the bones coming out of the doghouse but it just doesn't work, it becomes too crowded, not to mention the house stops looking like an "n". Have any other modifications the client might like? ;)

Hi Mattman
Will this be permitted on our portfolios? If so, I may have something for you! :)
And do you require this on blank white as opposed to my usual 'stormboard'™? ;)
Matt Ward
04-11-2004, 12:05 PM
yes, it will be permitted, customer knows of DO.
Blank White?? Doesn't matter for this I don't think...not sure.

Hi :)

Hello, I have decided to try something else. I have created the mark which consits of four dynamically placed squares that are colourful for collectables` diversity and velocity as well. The rest is well-readable. The advantage of this one is that the mark is kinda simple, and at once, remeberable. Write what you think...
All the best wishes to You...
P.

The issue was not with the customer it was with me....their emails were getting tagged as spam...Sorry for the delay.
Christians seems to be the front runner right now...
Christian could you make the following changes..Please.
Remove the bone from the mouth
Remove the doghouse, put the N back please.
Try putting the dog in a couple different positions, including standing up.
Eagle,
The customer thought that you did a great job on the dog but the face is not clear enough. Any thoughts on how to enhance the face?
Creator,
The pom here looks more like a cat. Could you put the A back in and try a Pomeranian in another position on the logo?
Thankyou all very much for your patience on this, I dropped the ball here. :( sorry.

Hi and thanks for the feedback :)
Due to the design's style (and the fact that I can't illustrate for toffee!) I felt there wasn't much I could do overall. I have however tweaked the positioning of the face slightly and reduced the size of the ears by a fraction to show better proportions. If chosen, I will very likely smooth out much of the patches on the dog to give it a smoother appearance. :)
Thanks!

Customer has supplied feedback...
EAGLE'S IS OK BUT I NEED IT TO BE MORE CLEAR, MAYBE LESS OF A STAMP LOOK.
CHRISTIANSANFIEL I LIKE IT BUT IT STILL NEEDS SOMETHING MAYBE THE DOG NEEDS TO BE SHOWN IN A SIDE ANGLE. MAYBE A BIGGER DOG?
Christian, It may be difficult to tell that the dog is a Pomerarnian unless it has a side angle to it, Could you try something like that please.
Sorry for the delays, we will try to improve the feedback process in future revisions.

Hello Matt
Sorry to hear you've had difficulties. Sure, minor revisions won't be a problem - please get in touch anytime! :)
Can I ask what colour combo you'd like for the final?
I can provide black and white versions and a whole raft of sizes and file types. Please indicate, however, if you only require the .PSD. :)

mark,
if you could give me the psd with the colors as layers, then I can handle dealing with the logo. At the point for which we may need a particular size, we can address that then.
(is this the best route in your opinion?)
