(Admin code added by Palmer - 15466497)
I need a logo designed for my company name. The company name is "Byalik LLC." The logo doesn't have to have the LLC in it but if it fits nicely then why not. I need a professional logo however I also like creative artistic work.
Examples:
http://www.n1ch.com/site/n1ch_5.gif - The logo can be seen here
As you can see on my other websites, www.copycatshades.com, www.seekster.com, I like nice creative logos.
The logo also has to look good when downsized because it will be used in toolbars such as the ones seen here:
http://www.mobwar.com/
http://www.mindviz.com/
http://www.9mp.com/
Our website will overall be very similar to that of 9mp.com. It will basically outline our company and show off our other websites.
And if anyone wants to throw in a business card, I wouldn't refuse :)

Hi byalik,
great to see you here - I knew the name sounded familiar !
Hmm..Seekster.com, where have I seen that before ? :D :D
Anyway, expect an entry from me soon :)
Cheers,
Frank

The designers are not permitted to offer goods and/or services beyond what is required. It is considered an effort to "sway" your opinion on who to choose. You may negotiate with the winning designer a price for a business card design after you have chosen a winner though :)
Thanks

Ok sorry but I don't see how it can sway my decision. If I like one design better then another, I won't pick the worse one just because he throws in something extra

If you are looking for simply a mock-up that is fine. Maybe I'm confused on what you're requesting. It sounded to me like if Designer A offered to throw in a business card design as a bonus, it would benefit them in your decision.

Sorry flava but that just looks like you made the logo in 5 min and just put some text in xara 3d. WHat program did you do that with?

Hi Byalik,
I wonder if you could supply us with a very brief idea of exactly what your company does. At this point, I don't really know what I'm designing for. Here's a go at it anyway. Let me know if you think I'm headed in the right direction. I'd really like to hear a bit more about what you're looking for. I'll be happy to make any changes you'd like to see.
Thank you,
-Dave B)

Our company basically owns other websites. Take a look at http://www.9mp.com/ . We are very siilar to this company.

Fuse, Can I please see the same deisgn with a capital "B" and also play around with a few other colors. I like it now but maybe something in their that stands out, like those bubbles.
Design General, Out of those 3 I like the last one the best but that looks more like a logo for a telephone company. Something about that circle reminds me to pick up my phone :)

A few variations...:)

Hey there. Here are a couple more color options. Changing the "b" to a "B" will take away from the concept I was trying to go for (carrying the circular shape of the b to the dot on the I). Let me know if you would like me to move forward with this idea, or if I should go back to the drawing board.
byalik
04-07-2004, 10:21 AM
Fuse, its fine you can leave it with the regular 'b". However you can you try making the font blue as it is and making the circles red or orange, or say they look like on fire? I think it will both look good and stand out.
Beatz, I like the designs but the logo looks like a driving symbol on the road. Im not really sure it will fit with the site
beatz
04-07-2004, 10:32 AM
Hi again,
well it might look like a roadsign - don't your websites provide a kind of road through the internet ? ;)
Just a suggestion - maybe you should give a bit more direction in terms of what elements/style/etc you like and what not so we as designers don't walk in the dark.
How should I know you don't want it to look like a roadsign for instance ? :D
Anyway, here is it on dark background again, will come up with more ideas when you have posted some more specific guidelines.
Thanks,
Frank

Beatz, if for example that roadsign had a "B" in it, I think that would make more sense.
I thought I had listed what kind of logo I wanted when I first listed the project. Take a look at fuse's design... Its basically text with an original concept with the bubbles. Its plain, professional and still looks good. Some people try making an image above the logo that doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the company. For example if you had a website for real estate, then I understand a house above the text would be nice. In my case, theres really no way of explaining the website.

04-07-2004, 11:55 AM
Errm...all my submitted entries in this contest have a "b" in it (the idea was to have a stylisized b with an arrow directing upwards ) - maybe I should remove the arrowhead so it's more clear ? :)

Anyone smell propane???? :lol2:
I tried to tie in the blue - with the fire feel you mentioned.
I think it works nicely.
As you can see - this way you can also use the "bubbles" as a mark for your company. I think they stand nicely alone.
This design is using a gradient, so it will cost more to print (business cards, stationary, envelopes, etc.) but I think it's well worth the look the logo carries.
If you are concerned about print costs, I can rework the logo with some solid colors, but you will not get the same feel you see now with the gradient.

Certainly. Just in case it was immediately obvious, it's supposed to represent a more stylized 'b'. I'll gladly fiddle.

Here's one more. 4 lower-case "b's" spiraled, with a dramatic perspective.

muvment, If you wouldnt tell me what that was, I would have guessed either
1. Butterfly
2. 2 capital "B"s reversed
I like the previous logo better. In that kind of format and text, I don't think any image would really look good on top, because it just looks like an extra image outside the logo. Thats why some logos are incorporated around their text so they all look like 1 Logo. Am I being to picky?
JaysonC

another idea.
I didn't hear back from you on my last idea.
Feedback would be greatly appreciated
muvment

Seems to be that either a butterfly or two mirrored capital "B's" would be just as appropriate, no?
And yes, I'm aware that many identites are based solely around a typeface, but I got the impression you were looking for something much more than that from the crits you've been giving other designs.
