Greetings everyone! (Admin code added by beetle - D8597536)
Capitol Web Design is a small web design company located in the Midwest USA. Initially, our client focus will be the small businesses, non-profit org's and the at home professional located in our community. (if I happen to get clients over the internet - I'm not going to complain ;) )
My personal philosophy - and anyone that I choose to team up with - is one of developing great relationships with everyone I meet. I am looking for a logo that is warm, inviting and friendly. I would the primary color used to be purple #CCCCFF. I was thinking of supporting colors being blue or black to provide some depth? Just brainstorming....feel free to go with the flow....
I'm not particular towards the layout of the design - you can use an abstract object in it, a hi-tech object or you can just use the company name. I would like it to be in a format that can be used for both web and print media.
Deadline for this contest is Friday April 4th, 2003.
Thanks everyone....
Lisa

Having a hard time coming up with something? I took a look through the gallery and here are some examples that caught my eye:
Adam P - Virtuoso logo
wwwzone - Digibytes Content Manager
tonie allen - BAC Web Design
Hope this helps-

Sometimes it just takes someone to get things started. Kind of like the first couple on the dance floor :look:
Here's my entry, hope you like it :)

How is this?

Replacing the "a" in @ with a "c". The logo also represents an open eye which is a stong creative element which could serve to illustrate your companies services.

Hello!
Chelle, Ruairi and Palmer - I really appreciate your efforts, but none of the logos presented "got me dancing" (Palmer - thanks for being the first one on the dance floor  ).
Ubergerlgeek - the hubby and I really like your initial design. However, we both have some concerns regarding the "C" icon. It's a color issue. I was thinking of switching around the colors -have the circle purple, and the C dark grey. The hubby thought of having the "boomerangs" a dark shade of purple, the circle a light shade purple and the "C" a dark grey. I'm not too sure how this would look - perhaps too many colors? And the 'our priority is the customer' is fantastic  .
j-design - I really like your concept of the @ symbol with a C. I think it's great - once it's explained. If someone were to look at it for the first time, I wonder if they would realize what it is? Also, I know I said I wanted purple #CCCCFF to be the primary color but after viewing some of the submissions - unfortunately, I think it's too light. We haven't ruled out your submission so can you please make the purple a few shades darker and maybe go with the dark grey instead of black?
Muchos gracias-

Sorry, one more thing-
j-design - can you remove the outside circle surrounding the 'C'? Maybe this would make it more apparent that it's the @ symbol w/a C. ???
Thank you-

Good Afternoon!
Ubergerl - thanks for making the changes. We definitely like the design with the dark grey circle and purple C & boomerangs. It looks great.
jdesign - I really like the C without the outer circle. I think the sybolism really comes through now. And the darker shade of purple looks a lot better.
huhhso - Of the entries that you've submitted, I like the the one on the lower right corner. It has the three "swishes". I really like the font you used - it looks very 'clean' to me. But I'm not too crazy about the purplish/magenta color. The hubby likes the one on the top right hand corner - with the "saturn circle". He likes how you did extended the 'p' to separate web & design. Again - I'm not too sure about the color of 'web design'.
We'll keep looking over these - everyone has submitted some great entries and it's getting tough to choose!
Thanks!
Lisa

jdesign - the design that has the "C"CapitolWebDesign all on one line.

Good morning, everyone-
Boy, did I have a hard time sleeping last night. I never thought choosing a design would be so hard! The winner is - Ubergerlgeek (design with the dark grey circle & purple C & boomerangs).
There are two things that were critical to my decision:
#1 - I had some buttons made by wwwzone and her design matched best with the buttons.
#2 - The 'our priority is the customer' really hooked me in.
huhhso - you were a very close 2nd. When I first saw the box design w/ the silverish CAPITOL I thought to myself - whoa, this is really nice. I had your design and ubergerl's on my desktop with my home page next to them trying to get a feel for which one would look best. I even thought about completely redesigning my site to suit your design - but I had already paid money to have some buttons created and I couldn't not use them. Like I said - it was very close.
If I should ever want to change my logo, I'll remember you, huhhso.
A BIG THANKS! to everyone that submitted entries.
Lisa :D
