Ok this is going to seem idiotic to a lot of you, but I’ll throw it out there anyway.
Me and my buddies go to this place in Colorado every year for an annual camping trip, and have been doing it forever. It is always a pretty interesting experience with a few good stories to return with.
Anyway, the place we go to is called Slackwise, which is a lake near Steamboat and great place to camp. Since we’ve been going too slackwise for quite a while, we have unofficial dubbed ourselves “SLACKERS”.
Now for the really lame part… I’d like make a “SLACKER” t-shirt. What I mean by that is, using it on the front of the t-shirt in either the left check (or pocket) position, or center across the top of the chest in an oval shape or centered in the middle of the shirt as a circle – possibly interchange the placement. I’d like the word SLACKER, referencing Colorado (Boulder, Colorado), and include a mountain range in the image.
On the back of the t-shirt I’d like to design a “stick” person (neither male or female), kind of like the VW farfegnugen thing or AOL. This little stick guy will be our official slacker and will appear in different positions on different t-shirts with different stupid sayings like… “What are you looking at?” The slacker guy will be incorporated into the words of the stupid sayings.
Thanks, Mark

Thanks Paula! It’s cute… since nobody else has responded and I don’t think I’ve conveyed my original idea very well, I’d like to change it up a bit and go with your theme.
White t-shirt, 4 colors only, front side only - remove the slackers, the hiker, and just put Loving Colorado somewhere. Maybe change the sun to the top ¾ of a heart (a sun in the shape of a heart), and add a little bird shape or two in the sky and an elk (bull) shape or two on the ground (just black shapes). If you need more color combo maybe we can use the same color in two places with a half tone shade (I.e. blue mtn and half tone sky). Everything else looks fine.
I hope I’m not asking for too much. I’m planning on using the t-shirts as a give away to get my foot in the door (sales ya know).
Thanks, Mark

Ok, so I'm new (I'm starting to repeat myself), not sure how it all works yet, and I guess I wasn't sure how long to hold out (always in a hurry I guess). But if someone out there want's to throw something else out, I'd be more than happy to look at it, plus it might give Paula a run for her money (a whooping $100, I know B) ).

O.k looks like it is still open with Paula as the frontrunner :D
Mark,
I hate to do it to you, but could you let me know if you are interested in what you wrote in your brief in the first post, or what you asked Paula for after her entry?
Thanks!
Carl...

Carl, I feel I didn't convey my "Slacker" concept very well so I did change gears. I am just looking for a "give away" t-shirt now that represents Colorado and targets a large general audience. Just a 4 color front and since it will be on a white t you don't need to count white as a color.
Thanks Paula, your last post looks pretty good but will hold out for another day or two just to see what somebody else come up with.
I will make a decision Saturday morning, so tee tee please keep trying.
Thanks all.

P.S.: I can put color in the above logos, of course, but I'm showing them to you as is because they are quite striking...

Thanks everybody, this web site is pretty neat. I’ll be sure to talk it up to fellow ad specialists.
For those of you who still want to work on the slacker side of things keep in mind it is my way of expressing crass humor targeted to a 16-29 year old crowd. It’s not cute, it’s not flashy (although maybe catchy), and it may even be considered rude and offensive. It’s a way to say “get off my back”, “I don’t care what you think”, “I think that’s stupid”, etc. It’s the alter ego dark side.
When we’d go to slackwise (the place in the mountains I mentioned in the beginning) we would go there to get away from all the idiots on the front range and party till we dropped, not to hike or fish.
So, that is why I changed gears… it may be futile to attempt the slacker thing right now.
Julie, close with regards to the slacker format, but the image is generally too good natured – would some college kid with an attitude who serves burgers and beer at the local pub be wearing that?
Teetee, keep working on it… what is that orange kritter anyway? A goat on skies? Try it without the slacker, the man… I can see you have talent and I sort of like the blue mountain one you did earlier.
Paula, Carl’s giving you a run for the money at this point.
Carl, what would it look like if the pine tree is a little more pronounced?
Thanks again. I admire all of you for your time effort and your interest in with this web site. I hope I’m not taking advantage of it. Decision will be made Saturday morning.

Thank you all. Everyone one who posted has obvious talent! Keep up the good work.
Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure I’m only allowed to pick one, that being the case that one person will be Alexander. Alexander’s drawing is simply the one that looks most like many areas around the Colorado front range.
Alexander, would it be possible to get both adaptations, and in what format will you be sending them?
Thanks again to everyone,
Mark

Hello Mark,
Thanks so much for this contest, that was a lot of fun to create these designs. :) Here's a link to download files in Adobe Illustrator format for both adaptations: [EDIT: Link Removed]
Please let me know if you need anything else.
